I really love my speed goat 2.0!! Carry it a lot when I'm actually outdoors. I picked up a mini speed goat and it's a perfect self defense piece that sits inside my waist band right next to my firearm and spare mag rig. The mini speed goat makes for sure a great self defense pieces that's low drag and high speed for a dedicated self defense hole puncher. I've used the normal size one in 52100 steel to clean a nice buck and it was a complete pleasure to cape out that deer with it. Since I carry a folding type edc knife at all times the mini made for a perfect dedicated self defense knife, I used to carry a hawk bill type self defense pick and trained a lot with it and changed the the mini speed goat when they first came out. At first when training with it I missed my pick that I had a lot of training with but after a couple training hours with it and I really started to fall in love with the mini. Now after having 2x a month training for self defense with my knife and firearm I'm totally digging the mini, it's super quick in hand and a devastating self defense tool should I ever need one. Or course my main self defense tool is my firearm, I'm carrying a CZ Shadow 2 compact but I will always have a dedicated self defense blade on me because of situations to where discharging a firearm may not be the best option to deal with the threat.
what do you think about speed goat 2.0 vs mini? i got a remi warren elk horn skinner and wanted something a little slicier for precise tasks, caping, gutting/tight spots... idk if mini would be too small.
@@MatroniFitness i think the mini is more of an EDC and less of a dedicated hunting knife. I have field dressed a deer with a 3” uncle Henry folder and this knife would do it too, but the bigger one might be better for that. One more thing, the paracord grip would soak up a lot of blood.
Not going to play MKC's jump-on-the-drop games Thursday nights, so ended up buying a couple Esee Izulas and a Xancudo, which are actually available for sale, what a concept! I pocket carry them without any clips, just grab the handle and thumb push the sheath to draw. Only takes one hand, not lifting the shirt with the other hand. Don't trust that .090 blade thickness, no matter how great the steel, too thin for serious use IMO. But would not have amputated the paracord ends as you did, would have snake knotted them instead.
@@victordonofrio1611 I really like magnacut for edc because it is so maintenance free. The ball bearing steel takes a little work to keep it rust free but it does hold an edge a little better.
The rubber piece you took off is part of the adjustable tension screw for adjusting the force it takes to deploy the knife from its kydex sheath. I haven't got a mini Speedgoat yet, but none of my other MKC knifes experience this deployment problem you are having. Strange. I'm curious if this was an isolated issue or a broader issue with the design of the kydex for this knife.
@@blksheepgaming6656 the screw is still there for setting the tension, it does tend to come loose on its own now without the rubber washer. I definitely think it is a design flaw, maybe they needed to use a washer that is not as big so it does not interfere with the blade edge during deployment. I had to remove it because the blade stuck almost every time.
@@BRandomFishing Yes, as I indicated, the rubber washer is part of the tension screw system they utilize to have such great kydex for their knives. I would like to see if others are having the same problem or if you just got an oversize washer by accident. I haven't seen any other videos about this. I may purchase one this week and if I do, I will be checking this out first thing upon receiving it.

Can’t wait to get this knife! Want to use it as an EDC. Not sure if I should get the magnacut blade or the black blade. Hope they drop it soon!

As a kali guy it's usually a Fred Perrin street bowie for me but this knife I'll definitely checkout.

I’m having similar issue, and even removing the rubber entirely the blade sticks to the lower part of the kydex and prevents me from drawing
Don't cut yourself putting it back in your pocket❤
