After our morning hike to Fushimi Inari, we chose Uji as an off the cuff destination. I literally planned our little excursion there while on the JR train. The train station, the small shopping street on our way to the Murasaki Shikibu statue, the Byodo-in temple which is featured on the japanese 10 yen, the teahouse next to the Macha factory, the cute Uji shrine with its pristine water and cute bunny statues, the hike up to the bench featured in the show, finishing with Uji bridge at night. Everything was just so quaint, beautiful and easy to navigate. The town looked so vibrant too under the blue clear sky; it is a must see destination in my opinion. I've never watched Hibike before, but seeing all the posters displayed around the city pretty much lead me to this video. Thank you for your efforts cataloging these locations! Made me feel a whole lot of nostalgia despite my trip only being a couple months ago.
This is why I love KyoAni and PA Works. Whenever they do an SOL title, they pull out all the stops to recreate the locations where their works take place.
The most underrated and underappreciated series. Tbh. Many people also misunderstood this anime as Yuri, Yuri bait or whatever similar to that. It's saddening one of the greatest modern drama anime never gonna be truly respected just because they added some Yuri bait for the sake of spice things up
‘Underappreciated’ might be due to the niche genre (practically mainly for ppl with wind band background). On a sidenote, I’ve finished the first 2 reasons but never found it ‘yuri’ (even if it is I truly couldn’t care less because the series is just too good in so many aspects)
8:00 This gate is severely eaten by insect, and almost broken, the reason why it is surrounded by blockade line. Several fans and heritage conservators hope to protect and rebuild the gate, but they are just lack of funds. In fact, the gate is nearly broken. We even wonder if it can get over the next typhoon or not. Usually there is a guy standing in front of the gate, holding some petition documents and introducing the importance of the gate and how eager the fans are to keep this spot. If you agree to support them, you can simply countersign there. I traveled there a couple months ago, and joined the countersign. Now, I leave this comment for anyone who also like to travel there and support them.
I absolutely love this. Sound Euphonium is one of my absolute favourite shows, and (imho of course) is an amazing example of what anime can be, and so often is. To be brutally honest, a lot of the sites aren't really all that spectacular as tourism spots, but the animators' passion for recreating them so faithfully, (and making them look even better than real ) makes them amazing. :) And speaking of passion, I have to say I love yours as well. :) Not just for doing this in the first place, but for injecting so much of your enthusiasm for the show and characters into the tour. :) Thank-you for a great video! :)
Omg I swear what got me of all things is the whole keychains gachapon up the kyoto towerr 😭 I would give so much for that cute trumpet one... really hope KyoAni will one day do a proper merch line of the keychains with Tuba-kun etc...👏🏾❤
You bring out many miniatures of train signs to the States :) By the way, I recommend to taking bus to Todo high school from JR Obaku Station, but it was once an hour.
my unforgettable moment, when i spend a lot of times in late evening, november 2023 to locate kyoani shop that is quite hidden at kyoto station. i was quite upset, cause the shop doesnt have much of Hibike merchandise. After resting, i manage to go find a restroom and walks towards the kyoto tower hotel, hoping they do have one. thats where i accidentally saw the collab poster like in the video. not wasting any second, grab a ticket and hory shet, a dedicated booth for Hibike up there at Kyoto Tower and Boom! almost bought everything Kumiko and Reina related. Good Times!
i've really enjoyed this video, it was amazing, i love hibike too and after i've watched this video, i realized how professional Kyoani is, making their adaptations, it's amazing that they drew all the sites so faithfully. now i can say with confidence that , There's no anime as Hibike Euphonium , It's gorgeous. Greetings from Venezuela (Sorry for my bad english xde)
After knowing the real location of the anime, one thing I don’t understand is why Kumiko always takes the train from Rokujizo Station on her way home, even though the station closest to the school is Obaku Station (unlike Suichi, who usually takes the train from Obaku Station)
@@EylinHeny well even though a lot of real locations were referred, at the end of the day it’s an anime that’s not factually sound, that’s my way of looking at it.
I just went to do the climb today at night ABSOLUTELY BRING A FLASH OR TWO my iPhone screwed up and I was hiking in the dark I got scared too it was pitch dark and almost tripped and fell down the cliff. Luckily another person met me half way and we went up and down together since he had a flashlight. It’s a very long trek. I have no idea how Kumiko carried her instrument up there.
I was curious about the city and the name of the concert venue where Kumiko failed to qualify for the national level in the Hibike Euphonium movie! Chikai no Finale. I tried searching on the internet, but there was no info about the location unlike the previous series
Absolutely Reina x Kumiko !! Shuuichi who?? Of course this means the RxK rendezvous spot up on the hill is a must visit site. And while Reina definitely deserves applause for hiking up there in heels, let’s not forget Kumiko who took the heavy euphonium with her up that hill. She deserves our applause too.

I have also visited Uji in 2017.
More than 5 years later, I still can't forget that scene.
After watching this video, I spent almost an hour looking for every location on Google maps, thanks for the info 💚

Will be going in a few months, will be cold for me but im gonna do my Pilgramage like i should!
寒い場合、カイロを買うのと服を着るくらいですね、しかし暑いのは服を脱いでも暑いので冬のが良いかもしれない。
i’ll be going this January

bro legit said "I'll take your entire stock" at the Kyoto tower lol. Thanks for showing us around!

Ojalá algun día llegar allí. Muchas gracias por el video informativo ^^

The only thing the anime missed were the hibike eupho posters 😆
全てにおいて再現力が想像以上!やっぱ京アニクオリティーは最高!!^^
まだ判決は出ないけど亡くなられたスタッフにお悔やみ申し上げます、、、。
I gotta ask what are those round things with all the characters at the end which you bought? Are they badges? Magnets?
