    Hello! I'm going to add Gyeon Wax on my car but I am going to decontaminate with Gyeon Restart Wash, is this sufficient to decontaminate? Thank you.

    • @GYEON_official

      All depends what is on your car but for me this would not be enough. A full chemical decontamination is the minimum to have good results of the Q²Wax.

    When do you decide whether or not claying is really necessary without doing unnecessary work? Even if the car feels smooth , is there a chance that contaminants are still on the surface ?

    • @jaaphoogendijk671
      @jaaphoogendijk671 3 года назад +3

      When you do not feel any contamination, there is likely not much, and after using Gyeon Iron to determine whether the paint has iron deposits, you can get into polishing right away. If there is light contamination, the polishing pads will pick it up. It might be smart to keep an eye out for this and blow out your pads more frequently though.

    Is it enough to just wipe off clay bar residue with MF towel? Wouldn't there possibly be (removed) contamination in the residue?

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  2 года назад

      The primary goal of claying is to remove all possible leftover contaminants that were not possible to remove chemically. Removed residue in my microfibre is the least of my concerns, the clay and the embedded dirt will do far more damage, that’s why claying without polishing afterwards is not an option when trying to achieve a great result.

    You forgot a thorough and proper IPA wipe down, one of the most critical steps for polishing/protecting preps

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  2 года назад +2

      Thank you for commenting but the video is what to do BEFORE polishing, not during or after. So why is a IPA wipe down critical BEFORE a polishing process? Everyday is a schoolday.

      Y.

      @@GYEON_official yea but an IPA wipe down BEFORE the polishing process is important as well to break down any final remaining paint protection items that the strip wash and full decon may have missed. You’re right about during and after but the goal is to get that paint squeaky clean and bare before hitting it w the polisher. You are right though as well

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  2 года назад +3

      If a proper strip wash, chemical decontamination and mechanical decontamination has not removed what you describe as « paint protection items », then your IPA wipe down for sure will not do it because IPA will NOT remove oil and grease nor will it remove leftovers of previous coating or synthetic waxes. The science behind this is chemistry, not guessing.

    1. Physical decontamination ( clay bar ) 2. Chemical decontamination ( iron spray ) 3. Assess paint thickness 4. Visual inspection 5. Masking . Simply put 1.clay bar 2. Iron spray 3. Look and mask done . For this 6 minutes video and 007 shots !😳🤪

      Thank you for your comment. In the end RUclips is a video channel, we may look into writing post-its for those who really want but for now the demand for video content was extremely high, as they say images speak more then 1000 words but hey even after 6 minutes of video you have the order of the process wrong. It’s always the chemical decontamination first which can also be physical (a lot of trigger pulling and walking around the car 😊). When the majority of contaminants are removed, the claying can start. Not the other way around.
      The strength of video is that you can watch it again. People tend to forget very quick.

      Y.

      @GYEON_official  3 года назад +1

      Yes, they all can but of course best results are with a machine polisher.

      @@GYEON_official What kind of applicator do I have to use?

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  3 года назад +2

      A microfibre towel or microfibre applicator is the better choice.
