With the recent death of her brother, she has a lot to take in. On top of that, she's being criticised and ridiculed by the public because people that possess magic are unstable, emotional, and should be fixed. She tries various treatments to cure herself of her trauma (electroshock therapy is one example). After a lot failed attempts, she finally cracks and goes crazy before causing the apocalypse (starting World War 1, assisted in the assassination of various leaders and important people... all of this resulted in chaos that activates a phenomenon where time reverses and all the people within the era are erased). Yes this is historical fiction. A world where society is divided by humans and arcanists (magic wielding people) That's the shortest synopsis I can give lol. The song is based on the full story, but this is enough context to think about it. Small additional context: Reverse 1999 is a story about time reversing starting from 1999. Everything reversed in time will cease to exist and its up to us, the main character, to help prevent the "Storm" which is the time reversal phenomenon. The Storm usually starts with water falling from the ground to the sky then other effects vary from there. Which is probably where it got its name.
