literally had to confront my boss about my schedule. it was so scary but I got some advice from my friend who was like, "this isn't going to be the only time you will need to talk to your boss like this." that really put into perspective that if you don't learn how to speak up for yourself, you're gonna get screwed over and have no one else to blame but yourself
I'm going to try a little something. Let's see how people respond. A bold but correct idea would be to stop thinking of them as "your boss" and everything will be easier. Here's one better: this isn't the last job you will have.
I remember I did that and I ended up getting treated differently because I was the only employee that stood up and said anything. These jobs will roll over you if you don’t speak up
I have started standing up for myself for the past 2-3 years and even downright became loudly upfront with people who overstepped my boundaries. Surprisingly, this ended with them giving me more respect and treating me better.
Good for you man I had to learn how to stand up for myself sooner than later and it started since I was 15 being disrespected by an toxic ex girlfriend and been standing up for myself ever since , even people on RUclips because I would get negative energy towards my way and I would clap back with my two cents because I don’t care anymore
I like the example you gave, it goes to show that if you don't confront people with things that they abuse they will keep thinking that it's alright and they will keep pushing things too far to see what you will and will not tolerate. Just because you're patient doesn't mean you can just keep tolerating bad behavior.
The whole bit about not asking for change leading to resentment is so true. I had experience where me and another person were mutually upset with each other and neither of us confronted each other about it. Eventually things just blew up because of it. Whatever short term discomfort you may dread addressing will be much better than the explosion caused by the stress of not communicating.
Golden advice, I lost friends because of growing resentment that was never talked about. One thing you didn't mention is that balance is extremely important you can't confront someone constantly because it just turns into arguing. It's better to just distance yourself at that point.
Everytime I’ve had to confront someone I know about something, they either wouldn’t take anything I say seriously, they’d accuse me of “Trying to start shit”, or they would say that I’m the problem for even getting upset enough to confront them. These were all people around my age btw so I basically just gave up on the need to confront people about things because it seems that nobody can ever admit that something is their fault.
This is a good one I LOVED THIS NIKO thank you. I've always struggled with confrontation during my ENTIRE life. I went through middleschool & highschool being a pushover and a people pleaser. Looking back on it I would've made so much more stronger connections and solid friendships if I did confront the people around me at that time. To this day I struggle with it and this video made me realize how much I've avoided it, I really want to change that part of myself so I can build solid boundaries and feel more secure in my relationships. Again thank you niko for bringing this to my attention and teaching me a valuable lesson in my life growing up as Gen Z.
Funnily enough, lack of confrontation AND doing confrontation is what broke the friendship between me and my best friend. They wouldn't speak up when they were pissed off about something someone did out of "oh, i dont want to be a burden"... BUT WOULD LATER LASH OUT ON EVERYONE. Then everyone else would be confused because the thing the best friend would refer to was small one-off comment no one remembers. This happened multiple times. When I confronted best friend about how their logic is flawed- that they should tell us right away if something is wrong to prevent this toxic cycle, they blocked me on everything and the friendship ended just like that. It broke me for months since they were my first proper friend to stop me from suicide- but hey. That's life. People either change for the worst or better, even if you don't understand it.
This video really helped open my eyes. I'm not a very touchy person and don't like to be touched much at all, but my friend group had this ongoing joke where they touched my hair. I laughed it off and joked about it too, but I always hated it. I just never confronted anyone because I was scared that bringing the issue up might offend one of my friends in some way and result in me losing them. I regret never bringing it up, as it would've saved me a lot of stress and probably help me avoid growing some of the resentment I did for a few of the friends who took part in this joke the most.
Idk about others but i afraid of confrontations because i think too slow and always fuck up qte of choosing fitting words and reasons so i start getting rattled and from that point i afraid of two things: 1) i gonna remeber that moment as a shameful flashback that shall haunt me for like 5 years or more and 2) what if doom music accidentally kick in and ya'kno i really afraid of law and my own power and capabilities
Ik it’s scary man but the worst thing you could live with is living the rest of your life being disrespected by people that could have stood up to and defended yourself
@@jaysouthmusic8230 Making enemies bitter about their humiliation isn't the way either. Have you had revenge plotters trying their worst to make your life more difficult after confronting them yet?
Amazing yapping session as usual. In some cases I'm good with confrontation, like when it comes to my friends when I think they're doing something that may be harmful to them in some way. But, in other areas, I'm not as good at confrontation. Like, confronting aggressive people, which is something I've gotta grow in if I really want to get a career in law enforcement because confrontations are so common in that field.
Confronting People is a good way to remind people that they have responsibilities to the things that they signed up for. In my experience one of my Groupmate in Thesis is slacking off and I am giving 3 days before the deadline to work on his task but he continues failing those tasks that I am giving to him. I reported it to our professor and before the day we had a meeting with our professor I confronted him, as I confront he cried but I said " Your excuse is inexcusable, I've done my part so as you" I literally never cared for him that he cried when I confronted him, I need a man who can work with his responsibility not the one who will slack in tasks.
0:28 that hole kinda reminds me of the original backrooms found footage by kane You should keep your hous like that i think its pretty cool like that, maybe put a water hole at the bottom so it auctally has a use
You have no idea how much this opened my eyes. My parents fucked me up bro. Maybe I’ll make a RUclips channel like yours but with games that I play. I’ve been wanting to make a RUclips channel like a film myself talk kinda thing but I really like the idea of having video games in the background. I wouldn’t have to show my face, I don’t have to worry about looking good or trying to be a perfectionist. I can just play videos and talk into a mic. I hope this doesn’t make me a copy cat if I do that. I think it solves many problems for me.
Some drunk yelled at my dog today saying "shut up!" this whino was intentionally walking towards us and I told him "don't fucking yell at my dog he's not the one you need to worry about". Even if you mind your own business and stay outta trouble, trouble will find you, the question is will you be ready? I did 50 Squat Thrusts(burpees) this morning, 35 in a row, while this drunk was getting ready to be drunk by 2pm, he could try.
Confrontation is definitely necessary, the main issue I run into though is when someone you're trying to confront won't tell the truth and lies. I've had this happen countless times so that's why I avoid confrontation so much. It's impossible to communicate with someone who is dishonest, you don't know what's the truth or what's a lie anymore.
This. I find no point in confronting someone if it appears as if their intentions are skewed from the start. It takes two for a confrontation to go well.
So the lesson here. is too try and be more talkative? Well thanks for the advice man. I genuinely feel like. that most people are not willing to put in the work. because their too afraid to be ignored or worst laughed out of the room. But hey its just my opinion. Thanks for the advice. ill try to be open as much as i can.
Now that i think about it. Him Being shamed out of the room. is actually a good thing. Since it convinces him to actually confront the problem. instead of ignoring it. So you actually did something good. in the end. well assuming of course. you somehow feel guilty for it. but hey stay being you.
Yes. My mother was overstepping boundaries, so I calmly and eloquently criticized her thinking it was okay to yell and be abusive. I feel peace knowing I handled it the absolute best it could’ve went. Said nothing? Absolutely seething in resentment. I can’t anymore.
Well that’s… oddly specific timing I just confronted my ex 2 days ago because the story is too long to explain but basically we broke up 2 months ago but we are still trying to stay friends but basically I went to confront her because she just seemed weird around me, like she genuinely just didn’t like seeing me so I asked her because it was kinda painful especially because I was struggling to even just talk to her but I still tried to And long story short she told me that she just wants space and that she couldn’t take the fact that I went to see her without even having stuff to say anymore, so yeah I don’t know if we are still gonna be able to be friends but I hope so But all of that to say that confronting is sometimes necessary and also beneficial because for example here I was actually pretty hurt before confronting because I could tell she just didn’t like talking to me and now I feel better knowing that at least for now I shouldn’t think about her and just leave her alone and now I can stop forcing myself to talk to her to restart the friendship
I remember I had to confront my ex gf and she flipped out and I haven’t talked to her since and gained my peace back. Dodged a bullet by what my mother told me that years later she had a restraining order made against her for stalking someone and I thank God every day I didn’t make that mistake of staying friends with her
I just found you a few hours ago and immediately clicked with your vids. Minecraft and life advice, both my fav. Yt content put together! I obviously subbed ❤. But you're right, I'm 17 and I agree with this video 100%. Me personally, I'm not afraid to stand up for myself and what I believe in, but I see too many people this day too afraid to do that. Funny enough that my favorite fictional character is for the reason he's not afraid of standing up for what he believes in. It's Obi Wan Kenobi from Star wars. He had every reason to turn to the dark side, go down an evil path. Watched his Mentor (Qui Gon) get murdered in front of him. The love of his life die in his arms. His student and brother in arms that he loved since he was a 9 year old slave lose his soul and become the Star wars version of Hitler. But through it all, he stayed strong and never failed to stand up for what's right. Enough of this essay, keep up the good work, new sub earned! ❤❤❤🎉
I am in a unique situation I feel. This is not directly related to confrontation, but I was separated from my developed friend group in 7th grade, and had to make a new friend group. This new friend group worked for a while, but now I am starting to lean back to my old friend group. The switch happened mainly because of a school switch in my life.
I learned with my mom to not be a person that make the confrontation and it was not good for me when I started work and became responsible for a team. Be e leader is be confrontad every day, so as an adult I had to develop it. It was not easy yet, sometimes I just want avoid it but I do because it will return in the future and maybe it return worst. Sorry for my dad english. Nice vide thanks
The fact that you play with flowstate explains so much of this. Idk who's building off of who in terms of life lessons or if its mutual. But both of you help me out so much.
This is a very well worded and concise video regarding this topic, and in my opinion is really important for people to understand and start thinking about if they aren't already. Communication in any relationship, friend, family, or otherwise, is what will keep that relationship healthy and comfortable for all parties involved, and I feel it is very important to grasp this concept as soon as possible to live the best life you can with the people around you. Great video :)
I also used to be a VERY confrontational kid to the point where I’d get into loud arguments near daily now I’m just trying to use that nature for good uses and when needed I can say what needs to be said
dang, could’ve used this like a month ago but still great video, i’m sure this would’ve helped me break up with my girlfriend or at least do it sooner. Your breaking up video actually helped me be comfortable with the thought of breaking up with my girlfriend so thank you for that 🧡
OMFG thats exactly what i am thinking all the time when some drama happens in my friendgroup. Just fucking talk goodamit... There's no point in just ignoring someone or take action silently, most of the stuff can be easily resolved by an honest talk.
I’ve only seen the title and don’t have much time to watch before I confront my demons head on thank you for helping me make up my mind (: Edit: It had a somber but very eye opening ending mostly on my side. Without that conversation I can safely say I would still not realise my part in the problem but continue to think it was just her.
Just got out from an narcisstic relationship, did'nt stand up for me for a long time because of love for her.. now I'm healing and now I know that I've to stand up for myself. Guys don't let any1 treat you like you are the problem, start questioning yourself why you're doing always everything wrong, you're not the problem mate.. just think about it. Funfact her name was: Jane like in the Video example haha :D
I can relate man my last two relationships was like that where I had to confront those two toxic women and I been single ever since and karma bit one of them in the ass by being a single mother and the other one has so many mental problems when she’s off her meds she is a psychopath who had another female put a restraining order made against her
alot of the issue i find in myself is im not confident i can hold my own physically, or verbally, but ive been confrontational despite being afraid too which is where most should start.
It’s weird, remember when you could have an opinion and just normal discussion without complete outrage? I wish we could go back to that. Now everyone’s scared of talking in case they “say the wrong thing”
Some arguments arent worth having. In fact most result in more problems than solutions. Whether it be because of stubborn people, different life experiences, or anything else, its usually best to avoid confrontations for less stress. Im not saying that there isnt a time and place for it, but just that your usually better off avoiding it.
Big facts mate. I’m early 30s and definitely have seen the shift. I’ve just started my RUclips channel playing Minecraft, glad I came across your vids!
its relieving that I know now that I need to confront people for their annoying actions, because in my culture people take and say anything as a joke and it makes me nervous when someone says after I say that xyz is annoying me and they say its just a joke, don't take it seriously. I hate that everyone in my culture say that every time because at that point nothing is important. thanks niko, i needed this. have a good day
Please someone help me man, I have horrible social anxiety and I'm starting collage soon, everytime I want to talk, I can't think of anything at all but at home and alone I can think of all the worst I want to say, how do I fix this man 😭
I get what you mean While I don’t really know how to fix this I can tell you that worrying about this so much will just make it worse So I think that you could just try to go talk to someone without thinking about all that, I know that it’s much easier said than done but just try to not think about it, just ask them like idk, how are they doing, or what lead them to the college you are going to Good luck, you got this !
It’s all practise. What helped me was doing social jobs with a lot of interaction with people. I went from introvert to extrovert. But it took a few years. Work on it and it will get better.
my friend had the same issue, me and him would speak a lot, but with other ppl he didn’t know what to say, it was his anxiety. get more confident by improving yourself, and get out of your comfort zone, in different areas not just one.
Small steps bro. I never suffered so severely but I definitely had a level of social anxiety. I’m early 30s now, and you realize that whatever you worried about means nothing. People each have their own problems/stuff going on, people you don’t know don’t care about you at all! Don’t be hard on yourself, deep breaths and don’t overthink “normal” situations. You will be fine!
I had to confront people so many times because I’m at the point in my life where I’m just tired of people disrespecting me and I don’t do anything about it and it’s been this way since I was 15 when I got in trouble for basically standing up for myself. And recently I had to get on this other RUclips pr who was trying to shoot down my dream and he is basically a hypocrite who I used to support but the one time he responded to my comment on his video, he wanna be negative and I wanted to clap back but instead made a comment on one of his other videos and left no remorse. You gotta put your foot down these days or you’ll be push3d over disrespected for the res of your life
a few years ago I used to accidentally stare at a specific person (like I'd gaze through the class cause I was bored and I'd unknowingly lock in on him. I only now know it was bothering him as I overheard him talking with his friends about me. I'm kind of conflicted about this, cause I would've tried and prevent myself from staring at him if he'd've confronted me earlier, but I am still at fault for staring at him.
Honestly bro I love this type of content love the effort you put in to being a content creator and genuinely try to help people. Keep it up man much love
What do you do if the people that you need to confront to are your own family members? If you win you become a bad person, if you don't win you fail yourself, it's like a dilemma.
The easiest way to think about it is to ask yourself what the alternative is. If you don't confront people who mistreat or abuse you, then it will continue to happen indefinitely. If you are honest in your communication, then it gives them the opportunity to understand and grow the relationship. I wish people would have confronted me a lot more too, because I want to be a good person. Sometimes I didn't know what I did wrong, and people will just stop talking and ghost you. I'm happier when people talk to me even though it can be an uncomfortable conversation.
Love this calm Videos man, These ones are so rare rn at YT and i Love listening to those while working at my Art and Sometimes im learning Something 💀 keep it Up
Hey, Niko. I just wanted to say that your videos are awesome, it is really nice that you are sharing your thoughts. By the way, I thought it would be awesome if you used footage from Journey-like games. (Journey, Abzu, Outer Wilds, Sky: Cotl and etc.)

I’ve only seen the title and don’t have much time to watch before I confront my demons head on thank you for helping me make up my mind (:
Edit: It had a somber but very eye opening ending mostly on my side. Without that conversation I can safely say I would still not realise my part in the problem but continue to think it was just her.
Dude I love you. Watching your videos makes me feel like
I’m just talking with a friend. And I needed that man so thank you
i honestly fw these types of videos
Too much meaningless confrontation.
Too much political correctness and too much backlash for going against the grain
At 0:28 it turned from a deep meaningful speech into OOOOUHHghGH 🤣XDXD.
Some arguments arent worth having. In fact most result in more problems than solutions. Whether it be because of stubborn people, different life experiences, or anything else, its usually best to avoid confrontations for less stress. Im not saying that there isnt a time and place for it, but just that your usually better off avoiding it.
Thank you sir 💪❤
Big facts mate. I’m early 30s and definitely have seen the shift. I’ve just started my RUclips channel playing Minecraft, glad I came across your vids!
Hey man i really like to listen to your videos while drawing or doing stuff in general im gonna subscrib
its relieving that I know now that I need to confront people for their annoying actions, because in my culture people take and say anything as a joke and it makes me nervous when someone says after I say that xyz is annoying me and they say its just a joke, don't take it seriously. I hate that everyone in my culture say that every time because at that point nothing is important.
thanks niko, i needed this.
have a good day
Please someone help me man, I have horrible social anxiety and I'm starting collage soon, everytime I want to talk, I can't think of anything at all but at home and alone I can think of all the worst I want to say, how do I fix this man 😭
Fuck bro I meant words instead of worst
I get what you mean
While I don’t really know how to fix this I can tell you that worrying about this so much will just make it worse
So I think that you could just try to go talk to someone without thinking about all that, I know that it’s much easier said than done but just try to not think about it, just ask them like idk, how are they doing, or what lead them to the college you are going to
Good luck, you got this !
You will be fine!
you see you’re right and i agree but when you’re in a,strict, abusive household kinda hard but besides that its probably the best thing to do
I hate some people that avoid or disregards confrontation like the producer kid. Had a lot of experiences with those type of people
hey bro! I'm also a film graduate, love your content bro! Been helping me a lot with my coping. Keep it up man!
Never gonna stop loving this channel
I though bro just overlaid his voice over the Minecraft, the fact that you’re not scripting this is crazy
Each video makes me want to start yet another Minecraft world for a week or so and then completely abandon it and go on Minecraft hiatus for a year
I had to confront people so many times because I’m at the point in my life where I’m just tired of people disrespecting me and I don’t do anything about it and it’s been this way since I was 15 when I got in trouble for basically standing up for myself. And recently I had to get on this other RUclips pr who was trying to shoot down my dream and he is basically a hypocrite who I used to support but the one time he responded to my comment on his video, he wanna be negative and I wanted to clap back but instead made a comment on one of his other videos and left no remorse. You gotta put your foot down these days or you’ll be push3d over disrespected for the res of your life
When someone says confrontation,I think of provoking a fight or saying something rude to someone and expecting a slap.
I mean sure confrontation can escalate to that but that's not going to be productive most of the time. Confront with your words is what I mean
@@nikoyaps Then Im already good at it.Noice!
Now,the last form of confrontation I wanna learn is not to fear of the aforementioned one ;d
Gotta love how minecraft youtubers are better at teaching me than most of my teachers
"Jane might AAAAAAAAAHH"
Might what, turn into Jane of the Jungle ?
Another great vid. I really think that you can prepare especially young people for harsh situations and it's really important to do so, so keep it up
a few years ago I used to accidentally stare at a specific person (like I'd gaze through the class cause I was bored and I'd unknowingly lock in on him.
Keep it up man much love
la confrontacion es necesaria si es con alguien que hace daño a las personas
La confrontación es necesaria con todos, no hay que lastimar a alguien para ser confrontado.
Love this calm Videos man, These ones are so rare rn at YT and i Love listening to those while working at my Art and Sometimes im learning Something 💀 keep it Up
I was JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS
I'm in your head
@@nikoyaps i dont know what to THINK NO MORE MAN. GET OUTTA MY HEAD!!!!

Hey, Niko. I just wanted to say that your videos are awesome, it is really nice that you are sharing your thoughts. By the way, I thought it would be awesome if you used footage from Journey-like games. (Journey, Abzu, Outer Wilds, Sky: Cotl and etc.)

True
People need to be confronted else problems will occur. Great video
PART TWO????
what if you want to confront someone but that someones avoiding you for not that clear reasons?
Call them out on avoiding you, if they avoid you so much that you aren't able to confront, don't bother with them. They are not worth your time
What are your thoughts on Andrew Tate and these Alpha Male people
niko uploaded its time to partyyyyy
