As a Pats fan, I love seeing Tom thrive in Tampa Bay. I’m also glad got this (well-deserved) humble pie. Bill wanted Tom gone his last 3 years in NE, you could tell because after the Jimmy trade… Tom literally got less an less good weapons to throw to. Bill wanted to be the man again. Now he sees what he left Tom out there to work with.
I don’t want to hear about our salary, he’s supposed to be a mastermind… those defensive players knew why they looked so good (it was because Tom was the best game manager ever and got them plenty of rest when he has the weapons to do so) they would’ve GLADLY taken a couple/few million less to find some better talent. It’s a bitter sweet moment, and I’m so happy we get to get thrashed by Tom this year 🤗

Great job, and I don't only mean your content, but the way it's all put together, your graphics, all the bells and whistles, my friend. Moved north of Boston in '73 after the Army, and learned to follow certain players, and root for them to succeed knowing full well how the teams season would end, so after a few thrilling, teasing years, TB12 seemed a reward for all the previous years we cheered but lost. Pretty bittersweet stuff here, but I love it. Thanks again.

Most importantly, I am probably one of the few to ever say this and to think this, TB12 made Bill the Greatest NFL Head Coach of all Time. Before Bill had Brady, Bill was just a Great Defensive Coordinator Coach with losing records as a Head Coach for the Browns and Pats. And, when Brady arrived at New England...he made Bill into the Head Coach he is today, the Greatest NFL Head Coach of all Time.

    • @ludvigwittgenstein6469

The Patriots played Tennessee as hard as any team in the NFL that year. Brady was very close to beating them. Brady has taken BUM offenses to the Super Bowl and AFCCG MANY times.
Seriously. How many rings does Brady have to win before the sentence "Tom probably wouldn't have won a 7th in NE" never comes out of your mouth? Seriously, 12? Go look at the 2006 season. His best WR was Reche Caldwell and they were one drop from a SB appearance and probably another ring.
When will you learn: NEVER bet against Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr.
Dude is the GOAT because he takes bums to the promise land season after season because he's the SMARTEST QB ever. That aspect of his football repertoire isn't spoken about enough. His football IQ is unparalleled, he does pre-snap reads that Manning didn't even make:

I don't think that a Bill vs. Tom narrative exists. I think that they were just drifting separate ways in what they wanted going forward and the media took that and blew it up to be some bad blooded war. Bill Belichick respects the hell out of Tom Brady, as does Brady of Bill, and they were together for 20 years and created the greatest dynasty in NFL history. Bill is arguably the greatest coach of all time, and Brady obviously the greatest and most accomplished player ever, and they had something really special and irreplicable. Brady wanted more fun out of the game and a change of pace, and the Patriots wanted to turn a new page. Tom obviously found the best place he could in Tampa and Bill and the Patriots are reloading with a new, young QB. As much as I hate all the success the Patriots have had, I respect the shit out of it, and they're rightfully dubbed legendary, but times change and Tom has found greatness in a new place.

Big pressure on BB this season to prove he can win without TB12. If the Pats don't make the playoffs this year, BB's legacy will be significantly damaged. IMO the "Patriot Way" only works with a leader humble enough to lead by example in practices and games despite severe criticism in a work only environment.

Spot on. This is the kind of nuanced psychological insight that a lot of people don't understand: it takes THICK skin to be a millionaire with a supermodel wife and millions of adoring fans, pro bowls, lombardis, etc, to sit there and be unceremoniously berated time and time again in front of the whole team - sometimes for plays that weren't even necessarily your fault. Why? Just so the coach can prove one point: he is lord; he is the final authority; no player is above him; no player is above critcism; every player must be humble. While this might be good to deflate any egos, it's idiotic to do so to a GROWN man who has won you rings and who is as self-critical of his play as any athlete in the history of team sports.
Belichick has ZERO rings without Brady. I genuinely believe that.

  • @Pats308
    @Pats308 2 года назад +1

For Bill to think that it’s his system that works is so full of it. His system would never work without Tom. Players can’t ask for more money then Tom and because Tom does what’s ask of him you kinda have to fall in line. The last few years shows Tom displeasure of Bill, especially when Giselle comes out and said that Tom just needed to feel appreciated. I get so f ing annoyed when Bill say “defense wins championships”, it’s like a slap in the face for Tom and his offensive when he say shit like that. Listen to some of the Pats Hall of fame induction for the players and you’ll hear him say it a few time.

I agree Bill is a good coach. As a leader and boss everyone is accountable. If you show favortism you alienate people. Causes issues in locker room. The only thing you hear about Bill is cheap contracts. Just like Brady no real negative comments from players. Most show thanks to him.
I think it was some thinking Brady was gonna drop off. Bill is a historian. History was on his side. Although by watching Brady everyone knew he was different. I think some was ego. One was Kraft said no. Watching Jimmy in Sanfran Kraft was right. Also I truly believe he thought it was coaching. The coaches throwing Brady under the bus was the end. The fact is if not for Brady they where getting fired. Number 1 Qb in NFL and loosing. Although to be fair it takes time to get your system and players in place. To many teams do not give coaches time. One final thought. Brady is a lot like Bill in keeping things private. Do not give media much. Then again how do you trust a group that rips them. Then tries to destroy your legacy. I Love the reactions to stupid questions. I think Brady wishes B.A. would Just zip it sometimes. I know I do.
    lol

This is where we will disagree...bb respect for brady went out the door when the media after SB 39 started the narrative is it "brady or bb"...bb let his ego get involved after that ...and it was as if he needed brady to be knocked off his so called pedestal....when bb went after jimmy g thats when brady went to kraft and said all the discounts i gave i want to retire here ...kraft agreed now to kraft defense they never discussed age or date...when bb threw brady under the bus in deflagate that was enough for me...the only reason the investigators looked at brady was because bb said " you want to know about balls talk to the qb"...i always believed that bb knew that the NFL comm will punish whether guilty or not just because name gets mentioned ....bb needed a way to get jimmy g on the field when you have a quarter back that never misses a snap...bb thought however many games suspended would be enough to showcase how good jimmy g was and maybe persuade kraft and fans to move on from brady...but karma has a way of biting you...and jimmy g injures his knee second game and that ended that quest...but i think deflagate was the beginning of the end for bb and brady...thats why the narrative after brady left and people were saying all brady wanted was that bill want him...that would be correct cant play for a coach not in your corner...and when jimmy g fell through( which had nothing to do with brady..jimmy g did not take the extension bb offered wanted more money...the only thing bb could do was trade or tag..but kraft had a policy that would never force a player to play for pats..so kraft told bb you cant tag him..so bb had no choice but to trade)...bb blamed brady for this because bb could not stand that the qb you want is not like the qb you have and the qb to have is not the qb you want because bb could not take credit for brady the same way he could have done with jimmy g..bb did not scout for brady like he did jimmy g ...bb had to be talked into brady..but bb has to deal with that same qb being the superstar ....also it was how brady wins his games...system qb do not win SB MVP or league MVP...brady was clutch ..clutch play cannot be coached...jimmy g was a true system qb...jimmy g will never be mvp you can see in how he plays..bb could take credit for him..that it was patriot system coaching staff that made jimmy g...after that bombed...bb decided i cant get rid of brady but i sure as hell can make him look bad..brady was just league mvp in 2017 and what did bb do ...got rid of the passing game and went to run heavy....that is a death knoll for a qb...thats why you will never see a tannehilll as mvp..because their star is thier running game derrick henry...49ers kittle...system qb are not on passing teams...that why when brady got first mvp was when pats went from run heavy to pass heavy...when bb went backb to run heavy everyone assumed was because brady declining..no just the personnel declined and brady desire and enthusiasim after SB 52...so no i have no respect for bb...i understand business but there is a way to do things..and the ends justifying the means is why karma is alive and well in NE and BB

But when his quarterback performs year after year and wins year after year, he is not "Developing" TB12 anymore. It's time to shift gears and change the dynamics of the relationship to something MORE and it's NOT getting rid of Tom. That's where we all lost respect for BB He treated Tom like shite for the last 4 years. It was not warranted, it was totally disrespectful, he was purposely short changing Tom with play makers and we're all glad Tom won a Super Bowl year one and BB had a losing record!!

In my opinion (And I could make an excellent case in court with my assessment) without Lawrence Taylor or Tom Brady as players who played under Bill (Assistant "D" Coach with the Giants) Bill Belichick wouldn't have one Super Bowl ring..
It's the in-between that is the damning evidence - Bill was an absolute disaster in Cleveland and an equal disaster in New England before Brady *5-13* and after Brady *7-9* - 2020 season - 2 of those 7 wins were against the 2-14 JETS

Love your content but it was hard to see you defend Bill Belichick doubting Brady’s ability before he let him go. Bill knows as well as Tom he had failed as the GM to draft any decent skill players time and time again. Bill is a HORRIBLE GM but a great coach. The fact that Bill witnessed greatness on the sidelines watching Tom win him ring after ring for 20 years then he gave up on him and basically said “we can’t win with you anymore” I’ll never forgive that betrayal and failure as a coach to appreciate the talent that got Bill 6 rings. That said, I give bill some credit for grooming Tom, but the student surpassed the master long ago.

*The whole offense system depended on Brady's TIMING so that defenders were often 2 or 3 steps too late,* so that Pats receivers were often wide open for YAC; so QB could throw 5 yards on 3rd and 7; so QB didn't have to worry about interception.
*That is something even Peyton and Rodgers couldn't do, and Belidiot and those idiots asked Cam to do.* They didn't realize how hard it was to throw a fraction of a second quicker, and were surprised that Cam couldn't throw 5 yards.

How do we know Belichick is a football genius? Seriously? Why? He had Brady. Is Phil Jackson a genius or did he just have MJ? Was Poppovich really a genius or did he just have Duncan.
Belichick in 8 seasons, a MASSIVE sample size without Brady:

"You are what your record says you are."
      - Bill Parcells (Bill Belichick's coaching mentor).
And Poppovich has actually done okay without Duncan. Belichick's record without Brady is HORRIBLE. Like if this were ANY other coach in NFL HISTORY we would go:
"yo, is he overrated? He can't without Brady."
And it's not like Brady has had Julio Jones or Antonio Brown this whole time - guys who you DON'T HAVE TO SCHEME OPEN. That's a massive deal. Brady's done this by elevating mediocre talent. I'm sorry, but Edelman on another team would be just another guy. Even WITH Brady I think he's made 1 pro bowl (and he's also led the league in drops multiple times).
Tom Brady's NUMBER ONE WR for years led the NFL in drops, Edelman. Brady made Edelman and he made Belichick.

Yeah imo I think so. I think he also rode Lawrence Taylor's coattails as d-coordinator of the Giants. LT was a freak of nature. I have a buddy who played for the Bengals. He said LT was the freakiest defensive player he had ever seen - faster than many running backs, but stronger at the point of contact than any player in the game. That's who he had as Defensive Coordinator under another genius HC in Bill Parcells (not to mention 3 HOFers on defense including Carson and Banks).
As HC of the Patriots he's rode Tom Brady's coattails for years. It never mattered to Brady who got the credit but it mattered to Bill who got the credit. This is why they are no longer together. Brady took LESS MONEY to win. Who does that??? Nobody. Even those who grew up rich like Peyton Manning take as much as they can. This is MILLIONS we are talking about; and there's no guarantee that money will even be effective in yielding additional wins (as we saw by Belichick pocketing much of that money instead of reinvesting it in the offense).
Belichick is overrated. He's a cheapskate and he's getting exposed. 0 division titles in 8 years without Brady. Brady has 17 division titles in 18 years as a starter. Belichick: 0 without Brady.
Think about that for a second.

The whole argument about Brady being a "System" QB is one of the STUPIDEST and WEAKEST arguments of all time, which should had never been made in the first place, when talking about TB12. So many people, including a ton of former NFL players, had CLEARLY FORGOTTEN that many of the Great NFL QBs to play the game, played in a some type of a "system" during their careers. For instance, the former GOAT QB, Joe Montana played in one of the most successful "Systems", the West Coast Offense, in NFL history, during most of his NFL Career. Hell, even fucking Rodgers played in the "West Coast Offense" for most of his entire career. John Elway and Brett Favre had also played in the "West Coast Offense" as well. And, if my memory serves me correctly, I never recalled anyone constantly making the STUPID FUCKING ARGUMENT about Montana, Rodgers, Elway, Favre, etc. being a "System" QB.

You're 99.9% right in all your videos EXCEPT for the bit in this video about Belichick. 1000% WRONG. Here's why ... Belichick thinks he's more important than the team. No player has ever gotten a single year salary larger than his (26 mill per year). The Benedict book contains a lot of pro-Belichick propaganda even though, without Brady, in 8 seasons hes been horrible. 0 division titles in 8 years without Brady.
Even Bradys rise to superstardom was fueled by Belichick's ego. Belichick didn't discover Brady, Patriot's scout Dick Rayburn did. Brady wasn't even the first Pat's pick of the 6th round, he was the 2nd pick in the 6th round lol. Belichick got rid of Bledsoe because 1. That was Parcells guy not him (and Belichick is insecure that some people think Parcells is a better coach than him). 2. Bledsoe went 5-13 with Belichick and cost $100 million (a contract that Belichick didn't negotiate, his predecessor did).
    3. Belichick thought that if he won with this unheralded 6th round pick, HE, not Tom, would get ALL the credit and that's really what happened for Years. For ages people thought Brady was overrated and that it was all Belichick.
    4. Brady took less money and yet was low balled. Belichick, according to the NFLPA, spent less than any other GM in terms of Real Net Cash Roster Spending (the actual money you are paying your players) in the NFL between 2015 and 2020.
    5. Belichick wanted Brady out as early as 2017! Do your research Tom Brady Daily. He isn't some nice, paternal figure "who wants the best for his players." That's a LIE. He wants HIS reputation as a genius to override everything else. Brady won MVP in 2017 and Belichick sabotaged Brady. He benched Butler, costing Tom a SB ring. He promptly traded away Cooks AFTER Brady renegotiated. He screwed over Amendola after, AGAIN, Brady took LESS money to keep Danny and Cooks.
Why did he bench Underwood in the superbowl? Why did he bench Butler in the Super Bowl? Why did he trade for Cooks so Jimmy G, NOT BRADY, could have a deep threat? Why did he trade Jimmy G for a 2nd round pick when he had offers for multiple 1st rd picks? Why did Belichick LOW BALL Deion Branch after the 2005 season, after Brady left money on the table? He refused to bring back Bradys favorite WR. What happened? In the 2006 AFCCG a bum wr named Reche Caldwell dropped a key pass that cost the Patriots the game (and likely another Super Bowl ring). That was a direct result of Belichick's toxic ego. Same thing with the Moss negotiations in 2009/2010.
Belichick is a textbook narcissist and egomaniac. HE THINKS his teams win because of HIS genius and thats why he will never win without Brady.
Seymour hates Bill. Ty Law craps on Bill. Lawyer Milloy craps on Bill. A TON of former players dont like Belichick, especially Danny Amendola. Why? Because Bill DEMANDS that every player sacrifice his own goals and EGO for the good of the team. So players sacrifice money and fun to win, and then they win and when it's time to negotiate the contract, Bill low balls them lol. The only person in the Patriots organization who doesn't take a pay cut no matter the performance? BELICHICK.
Brady got sabotaged by Belichick and I genuinely believe that having Belichick as his coach has actually diminished his stats. If he played for a more offensive minded coach, Brady would've won 6 regular season MVPS.
Belichick wanted Brady out as early as 2014 but Brady won the Superbowl so that delayed his plan. Belichick was so desperate to get rid of Brady that Brady had to go BEHIND Belichick's back in order to stay in New England. And in the e d Belichick got rid of him anyways.
Dude, Belichick is toxic and overrated. Bradys offenses (3rd in DVOA) carried the dynasty not the defense (11th in DVOA).

Dude, this is brilliant. This Brady - Belichick beef reminds me of MJ's The Last Dance documentary on Netflix when Jerry Krause, the Chicago Bulls GM, idiotically sabotaged the Bulls Dynasty because of his massive ego a la Belichick. This is an excellent summary of the soap opera that has characterized the Belichick - Brady beef.
Turns out the Wickersham article was pretty spot on. Belichick really is getting exposed. A coach like Andy Red is a great juxtaposition to Belichick. They both have family members who were affiliated with the military, both are very studious and rigorous. Reid is more loose and laid back, Belichick is very militaristic and rigid. Brady made the players buy-in, not Belichick - and Belichick never understood this. Like most very intelligent people, he also has a big ego and I think he really started to believe his own hype.
Now he gets to prove it. If he can make the playoffs this season I might re-evaluate my stance, but until then Belichick looks super-duper, like astronomically, overrated.

Stephen A is right. If TB had weapons, he'd still be in New England. TB12 wanted a multi year deal and BB wouldn't even give him a 2 year deal!! Screw BB. But Jerry Jones, a terrible GM, is better at acquiring talent on the offensive side of the ball. For the better part of 5 years Belichick did nothing but tarnish Brady's legacy. Trying to dump him for Jimmy G., cheating scandals, little to no talent for Brady to work with, letting everyone think it was his system, and never giving Brady his proper credit. Well, 1 year with Brady on a new team and we have the answer. You have too good an opinion of Bill Belichick.
The Drill Sargeant way in which he coaches and the inhumane way he treated and undermined Tom Brady has ZERO to do with his coaching style and more to do with jealousy.
I submit to you that he watched Tom Brady for 20 years and we all know Tom Brady has HIGH CHARACTER, Bill saw the way Tom quietly accepted his abuse but still played at a high level.
The team saw how Tom constantly made lemonade out of the lemons he was provided on Offense despite the fact that he constantly took less money.
The reason Bill Belichick wanted Tom out was because Tom had the hearts and minds of the lockeroom AND Bob Kraft.
    Bill wanted to reign supreme.
It is very clear to me that Tom Brady won 6 SuperBowls DESPITE BILL BELICHICK and If Bill had treated him the way Bruce Arians did,The Patriots would probably have been 10 for 10 in SuperBowls if not more.
This is why Tom Brady won as soon as he left. His greatness as a leader and his vision and his spirit were ALL being hampered and suppressed by Bill Belichick.
If ANYONE HAD A FRONT ROW SEAT TO OBSERVE TOM BRADY'S GREATNESS IT WAS BILL
and he actually thought Jimmy G was better than Brady and was the future of the franchise. This should tell you how competent Belichick is.I suspect he didn't really think Garopolo was better but His problem with Brady was personal.
Bill Belichick will NEVER WIN ANOTHER SUPERBOWL without Tom Brady.
Because the "Patriots way"was actually Tom Brady all along.
And DEEP DOWN Belichick knows it.

no offense taken bro. believe me, i really don't want to put my own commentary in. however youtube requires me to do it otherwise they will delete my account. it takes me an extra 1-2hr of work to add my own commentary and i'd rather not do it. they've already had me delete 150 videos already. so this is the only way i can do it. i'm sorry that it's bad

Bill and Tom grew up together . Bill and Tom grew apart , you guys make it sound like this hasn't happened before. Tom is great however he wasn't the guy in the early years. Just saying how did Tom do against the giants? He had moss against the giants. Why not give Tom all the credit. Just saying!!

Nonsense. Brady LED the NFL in TD Passes in 2002 WITHOUT a single Pro Bowl receiver. Do you know how difficult that is? Then Brady LED the NFL in TD Yards in 2005, again, WITHOUT a single pro bowl WR. Brady was top 5 in MVP voting TWICE before 2007. Brady LED the Patriots to a top 7 scoring offense EVERY SINGLE SEASON before he won MVP in 2007. Brady, as his best WR in 2006 being Reche Caldwell, to one Reche Caldwell drop in the 2006 AFCCG from going to another Super Bowl and likely spanking Rex Grossman and the Bears.
Brady basically had Moss for ONE season - zero chemistry. And Brady, after ONE off-season wherein they couldnt practice much together because Moss had a hamstring problem all training camp, proceeds to throw for 50 TDS and goes 16-0 in a regular season, and a feat NO OTHER TEAM IN NFL HISTORY has ever done.
If you're implying that arguably the luckiest play in Super Bowl history, the Tyree catch, somehow means Moss and Brady were a failure, you are sorely mistaken. Brady also played that game with a high ankle sprain - fun fact. A 100% fully healthy Brady likely has better mobility, at least enough to move in the pocket. He almost beat the Giants with a high ankle sprain lol. And true to form, he NEVER uses that as an excuse.
