ভারতের ত্রিপুরা রাজ্যে অবস্থিত অভিন্ন ফেনী নদীর ডম্বুর বাঁধ কোন পূর্ব ঘোষণা না দিয়ে খুলে দিয়ে ফেনী-নোয়াখালী ও কুমিল্লা জেলায় ভয়াবহ বন্যা সৃষ্টির প্রতিবাদে বিক্ষোভ সমাবেশ ও মিছিল করেছে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাধারণ শিক্ষার্থীরা। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রাজু ভাস্কর্যের সামনে আয়োজিত সমাবেশে বক্তারা বলেন, বাংলাদেশে দক্ষিন পূর্বাঞ্চলে ফেনী-নোয়াখালীসহ আশপাশের জেলায় আকস্মিক বন্যা কোন প্রাকৃতিক বন্যা নয় এটা রাজনৈতিক বন্যা।

আমার মনে হয় ভারত এটা পরিকল্পিত ভাবে এবং উদ্দেশ্য প্রণোদিত ভাবে করেছে, আমাদের বাংলাদেশের যখন পানির প্রয়োজন হয় তখন ভারত পানি ছাড়ে না, আর যখন ভারতে পানি বেড়ে যায় এবং বন্যা হয় তখন তারা পানি ছেড়ে দেয়, কিন্তু কেন? তখন তারা পানি আটকিয়ে রাখতে পারে না? তখন পানি ছেড়ে দেয় কেন?
