An isolated girl goes off her medications and grapples with mental illness (depression and anxiety).
    SYNOPSIS:
Embracing Shadows (2017) depicts a tumultuous relationship between one and one's self: An internal struggle materializes in self-doubts; avoidance of responsibilities and societally imposed expectations; and eventually, succumbing to the riptides of apathy beneath what one perceives to be a superficial and monotonous surface. Certain visual elements are exaggerated in symbolizing a contrived day-to-day subsistence. As days pass into weeks into months, the melancholia looms nearer, a resigned nihilism replacing an initial anxiety-fueled resistance. This is only exacerbated by an inaccessible healthcare system, wherein medical prescriptions go unfilled.

Definitely feels like an (unfortunately?) intimate art-imitates-life perspective and that basically makes me just want to give you a hug. But, some real life-lessons here. Coming to terms with our shadows is a pretty vital part of managing mental illness.

This is awesome! Really like the build up for the character and a very different ending from what expectations.

This was great! In its eerieness, it reminds me of the ending of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, where astronaut David Bowman passes through the Stargate and meets with a mysterious alien monolith. It also keeps the audience constantly guessing about what is dream/fantasy and what is reality. This is makes it similar to the theme of the Viscountess.

It's almost funny... I know what's going on because I KNOW but due to not being depressed for few years now (knocks wood 1000 times after saying that) I can't really judge this like I'd like to... like for me it was really awkward to watch but that's 100% just me. I'm happy I can't relate fully... anymore... or something! Technical/artistic side was cool (the transitioning between scenes and subtle background noise etc) and you looked beautiful.

CHRIST accepts you right where you are no matter what sins you've done. He especially picks us that don't seem special in this life so that no man should glory lest it be in Him dying for our sins that you could be where it is Holy and there is no sin from everlasting to everlasting. Saved by faith in GOD's blood for ever and ever. Ask 4 a Holy Bible. This life is a vapor. CHRIST is coming very soon. Seek evidence of Noah's flood. This world was judged once and will be a second time. Read Romans,Corinthians,Psalms,Prov.,Matthew, etc. Proverbs 18:2 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his own heart.
    Matthew 24
