I’ve been to Venice several times, love it! Though you get inundated by Chinese with there phones on sticks & they literally invade the main island. As anyone who knows Venice it has about eight islands around it, some you can’t visit. It’s all by boats. And if you know Venice you will see how much the water levels have changed & got higher, last time I visited we met President Clinton’s friends! Yes I am fortunate to stay at the best places. As for smelling (Lisa says stinks) it only smells in some places, the bridges are quite cute!

If you go in local museum at other side of St. Marks (used to be Napoleans house) upstairs is a cafe, $3 coffee! Same view of square out of windows

My mother was from Venice and it was great to see you both discovering it’s magic. We always go to Farini when we are there. It definitely has the best pizza slices and coffee. That side of the Rialto is the best side for bars and restaurants as it is more for the locals. I’ve sent you a little something for your next pizza slice🍕🍕

We stayed for 4 nights in Venice a few years ago in summer and your right after 8 when the tourists leave it gets quieter and its lovely to walk around without the heavy crowds.

Venice is a fabulous place to visit. I actually was gobsmacked when we walked into St. Marks square. Just stay away from the centre for decently priced food.

I ended you it's so beautiful seeing Venice once again through your eyes I made it around in one day so very trying but so well worth seeing what we did. We went before Christmas and came out of the Church and it was dusk, but I teared up as there were singers singing carols, it was so magical all the lights in the apartments & people looking out. The atmosphere was electric. And I was told the same it smells it doesn't! I loved it so much, So thank you for bring back wonderful memories ❤️ xxx😊

Magical Venice. It's amazing. Well done you two for making the trip. Ps, we asked a gondolier for a shorter trip, and got about 15 mins for 30 euros, he even took some great pics for us, ace memories. Love the vids, happy travels. 👍

30.08 is the bridge of sighs that linked the old courthouse with the prison, and the prisoners used to sigh when they went over it.
We went to Venice about 10 years ago and it was about 80 Euros then so the price hasn't changed much.

When I worked on the cruise ships, we had the biggest ship in the world at the time, The Grand Princess going through The Grand Canal, we did the Med for six months and we always overnighted in Venice. We even had an orchestra booked out on deck . Such happy memories and yes we always visited the Chinese restaurant , and yes we always got lost coming back on the water Taxis . Well worth a visit is the Morano Glass factory and not too expensive either
gutted we missed the factory think the have stopped cruises docking at venice now as waves causing to much damage

The enclosed bridge is made of white limestone, has windows with stone bars, passes over the Rio di Palazzo, and connects the New Prison (Prigioni Nuove) to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace. It was designed by Antonio Contino, whose uncle Antonio da Ponte designed the Rialto Bridge. It was built in 1600.[1] Wikipedia

I'm so glad that you were enchanted by Venice 😊. First time I visited was in February and the boardwalks were out, I was 9 months pregnant and a council worker held my hand right across St Marks Square. Second time was about 2010 during a heatwave with our 3 children, it was brilliant not a tourist in sight, we had Venice to ourselves for 3 days, ended up bankrupt after all the ice creams and bottles of water we bought 😂. Brilliant memories 😊
