One of my favorite songs to play. That intro riff that the whole song is kind of built off of is like a brain teaser when you first try it. The hardest part isn't just physically being able to play this song, which is a motherfucker, but it's being able to remember all the parts and you need like 4 or 5 tones to cover it exact.
Yeah man, motifs in prog are what make the magic happen. Gotta tie it all together. And I agree, super fun song. The second riff that comes in around 40 seconds is one of my favorite things to play
It’s like a reoccurring idea in a piece of music. So like a riff that will keep getting altered across a song or a lot of times an entire album. Think Pink Floyd’s The Wall. Another example would be the “theme” in a score for a film.
