- Byron Bay is a coastal town in the southeastern Australian state of New South Wales.
Byron Bay is a popular holiday destination, known for its beaches, surfing, and scuba diving sites. The beaches draw visitors for meditation, walking, and sheltered swimming
Many Australian and some international celebrities have purchased homes in and around this popular town - others visit for regular holidays.
Between June and November, humpback whales can be spotted from headland viewpoints and you can find tours to take you out to sea to catch a closer look.

It was certainly looking like a moody sky type day on the way out. I loved the random dog just about his own business. I could definitely hear a couple of English accents on your walk. Either expats or holiday makers. The building that had BBSLSC on it. What does it stand for? Despite looking like Moody weather (the start of winter one assumes), there were plenty of sun worshipers. I don't think I'd be out in the surf with all the horror stories, but I think the odds of being bitten are akin to being struck by lightning. There are certainly plenty of places to eat in the town too. I like that it is still all low-rise buildings and they have not given way to the high rise in this area. It gives you that 'old world' feeling. That was a lovely old motor home type vehicle at 26:16. With the advance of winter, what do the temperatures drop down to at their lowest where you are there? The Love Bus, what an interesting name for a Bus route. The view from the overlook to the beach was amazing too. I do love the these old lighthouses. I'm glad they have kept that bit of history too. The view from the viewing platform was amazing. Such vistas. Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing.

Many English accents here in Australia - could be both (expats/holiday makers). 2. BBSLSC stands for Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club. Life Saving Clubs are all around Australia, however I believe most of them are on the Queensland and Northern New South Wales area - they are placed every 100m or so on the Gold Coast (where I live) so it's great to know that we have capable life savers for our safety in the water. 3. Even though the weather was moody on this day, the weather is always warm, (it may drop to 19°C during the day in winter - which is still warm enough to go swimming) - the water temperature always is around 21°C and silky smooth - the number of attacks are minimal but when they happen it may seem like it happens day in day out. Which is not the case - well, we are entering "their territory" so anything is possible hey??? 4. Yes, the buildings here are low-rise which has kept the area tranquil and peaceful - unlike Surfers Paradise which is full of high rise buildings (much like Florida in the US) 6. I missed the motor home - must watch again. 7. The Love Bus - I saw it for the first time on this day - I believe it was hired especially for a wedding/engagament party - so it's a party bus rather than a public transport type bus. 8. The lighthouse is beautiful - I love visiting when I can. Have an amazing weekend and thank you again for visiting and watching my video. I enjoyed answering your questions. I am in the U.S and haven't been to Byron Bay or Australia but I watch a lot of Australian set movies and TV series and know that the late author of "The Thorn Birds" Colleen McCullough lived there. Also, I have watched the series "McLeod's Daughters" and one of the actresses, Bridie Carter " Tess" lives in Byron Bay.

Brings back childhood memories of the 70's. Not a go to place because of a abbatoire outside of town. Surfing and fishing was all it attracted. Mr Watego was the ranger and was quite often dealing with the anti social type.
