- That's right- she's FINALLY putting down roots!
I know a lot of you have been wondering where I disappeared to... truth be told, I've still been very active on Instagram, just less so on RUclips as I decided to take some time to get my ducks in a row.
I've spent the last few years of my life looking for a place to live and grow that checks as many of my boxes as possible, and after several months of meditating on this particular space and meeting with the people who surround it, I truly feel like I've found it.
Come with me as we walk the grounds of my new (first!) home in Tennessee, and dream about what's possible when we work with the land (and more importantly, work together.)
I enjoyed your video and glad to see that you found a place of your own to lay down roots. Looking forward to more videos from your new home!!! 😀🌿🌹🌺🌱
We'll do some inside tours soon! I wanted to film those last trip as well, but they were kind of hazardous (in terms of random stuff that was still in the way) for walk and talk, plus I ran out of time. 🙃
One of the best gifts you can give the world is your own self-realization :) congrats on your new home!! there is nothing like it, when u find that space that fills your heart with everything you need ♥️
It's just cheers me up to see you making videos again.Keep them coming and good luck in your new Shangri-la.!!
Kept subscribed waiting for your big comeback and here it is!! Welcome home 😎
Thank you! It may be a minute before the next one as I'm deep in packing and moving RN, but it's good to be back 🙂
Good Luck, I hope it's coming along well! Hope you have a variety of wildlife coming through too.
I could sense your unspoken frustration during that time you traveled and moved so much. This is really a wonderful change . Looking forward to all the new adventures. 🪴🌿
Congrats!
Can't wait to see how you make it your own.
Veronica, you are like a 4 leaf clover. So rare , and so precious. Pearls of knowledge just flow from your lips. Unassuming, non judgmental, just a helpful nature. Your parents must be so proud. The Lord too, I am sure. Congrats on ownership. Establish homestead quick. Get a deed security package too, you are exposed to ill people who will harm you for fun. God Bless you.
Super excited for you! That property looks so beautiful. Can't wait to see videos of what you do with the property.
exciting... looking forward to your projects... dream BIG.
(dont forget to bring us along this journey... thank you!!!)
that place looks like a dream come true I love tennessee waterfalls, so happy for you
Boy oh boy you got lucky getting that!! Have a great time making it home!
That situation unfortunately ended up being f*cked by a garbage human of a business partner - check out the updated video on it
So happy for you. I forsee frustrations but one day, one project at a time. This is a project that will never be done. There will always be new ideas, new paths to explore.
Welcome frustrations compared to those of the past! 😅
Oh Wow Veronica! What a beautiful slice of a babbling slice of a wooded hillside that you have wondered into! So much potential lies ahead. Sure hope there are times that you may update of your growth and development on your little piece of our combined planet! May the exploration begin! -Bob...
Good to see you again, haved missed your videos. So happy for you that you have a place to call home now. Such a beautiful place to call home. God Bless you.❤
Best news I have seen in a long while. Your joy in this next step is impossible to contain, and that force will make all your dreams will come true. I will be here cheering you on.
My home state ❤ I'm so glad you found a safe place to call home. Always wishing the best for you! 🥳☮
I hate moving!
Congratulations, beautiful spread!🤜🏿🤛🏿
goo to see you back, with a place to apply all your ideas.......much love, many props
goo.....nice......good to see you back.....lol
Home ownership is exciting. Yes we are stewards to the land. Mother Gaia is amazing and generous. Look forward to seeing how you develop this property.
So happy to see you back. I missed the sound of your voice. I learned how to prune plants from your videos also. I could tell you were special from the first one. I'll be happy to see you happy!
Congratulations🎉
Congrats !!! I'm looking forward to seeing your new home.
Congratulations! Home Sweet Home
Congratulations can't wait to see it♥️👍
God bless you - always cool to see authentic people get ahead....
Wishing you all the happiness in your new life adventure....
You have been missed!❤
Thanks for the effort, we will be watching.
well done very happy for you , good step
Congratulations. Hope you continue gardening videos. Huge spider at 2:28
Congratulations! I'm so glad you have landed well and found a stream you can wear your boots into! It looks beautiful and also a bit familiar, you may have a lot of the same challenges I've had creating a garden in a forest where the ground slopes -- yes, I used (fake) stone a lot as it is pretty inert and supremely durable. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
For sure - going to be working with (and walking and observing) the space as it is for a while before "cutting into" it too much - I'll likely have a house garden within a few steps of my cabin (there's some flat space) and the forest will be less annual beds and more perennial groupings... and I haven't even shown ya'll the field space down the road yet! 😅
@@VeronicaFlores Are deer or bears big factors? Where i am, deer greatly limit what can be grown outside a fence, but bears uncommon and smaller herbivores are kept under control by foxes and owls.
Yes there are deer for sure, along with occasional bears and other wildlife. My biggest wildlife issue currently (and I'm not even there yet 😅) are apparently beavers - they're trying to take down my really old pear trees and I'm not sure why yet (but I had my "boots on the ground" fence what's left of the trunks in the meantime!)
Glad to see you back!!!
Enjoy every second of it, breathe more you deserve it girl ❤️
I moved a lot too, because of work. It got tiresome. I learned to downsize hard, fast. The end goal is to never move again. I'm getting there. I hope you get there too.
Oh wow wow wow, what an exciting time!
We can’t wait to follow along on the journey and to see the changes that you’ll make.
Do you think you’ll have animals?
What’s the soil like there?
I have so many questions! Haha
Soil in this immediate space is mostly clay ❤️ I might get some birds and a dog or two but probably not livestock, also I just found out today that I have beavers and am probably going to lose a very old pear tree that they suddenly decided to girdle overnight 🥲
Oh how devastating for you!! We’ve just planted a pear and 2 Nashi Pears (along with 15 other fruit trees 🤭) and they are stunning!
We’re in Australia, so we don’t have beavers but our birds (mostly the sulphar crested cockatoo), and kangaroos can be a nightmare with fruit trees. Fingers crossed your pear tree survives,
Kat xx
Great Piece of property. Congrats!!! I am looking forward to see what you do with the landscape. Cheers!
WooHoo Congrats to YOU.....!!! :) :) :) After you settle in, jump over a few mountains and come visit Grayson Highlands State Park in Va and fall in love with the wild ponies..... FIRST time I hit the 'notify me" button, too.....can't wait to see this vlog! :) :) :) -Scott
Oh man PONIEZ?!?!? I'm there!
A beautiful person in a beautiful scenery. Congrats on your new property!
Well done! Congrats
Good on you! Really looking forward to seeing what you do with that lovely spot!
Congratulations! Hard to beat property with live water. I found your channel a few years ago with the pepper topping video and I experimented with doing that. Watched a few more of your videos and subscribed. I hope you find an area on your property for some vegetable gardening. I am an avid backyard vegetable gardener and I have mentored several neighbors into my hobby who now have their own gardens. I'd love to have a neighbor with your knowledge to assist me in moving to the next level. I'm confident you will be an asset to the locals. Keep making the youtube videos. Best wishes/
Thank you! I'm definitely going to have a few veggie gardens around the house and will document those - I also have access to a great field space down the road that I have some big exciting veggie (and fruit and herb and flower) plans for! 😬❤️
So happy 😊 for you. I've been waiting for a longer lasting adventure you could share!
Such great news! What a great place. Your own waterfall 🤗
The best of luck over there and take it one step at a time. It's a life project
Thanks! It definitely is a life project! 😅
Congratulations Veronica! Wishing you the very best in the new chapter and beyond!
You are an incredible, beautiful, and amazing person. Congratulations on buying your new home. Looks like it needs a little TLC! 😊
Thanks! Unfortunately it’s no longer my home (there’s a follow up video on this.) All I can say is choose all partners in life carefully and well.
Wanting to root into a place is definitely something that comes with age. It’s really cool seeing things mature over decades. Have fun 😊
Thanks! I've done it before, but I really needed it to be more "mine." It's as much about seeing the progression as it is about feeling the security that comes with calling the shots for sure. 🙂
Love your vibrant, fun, energetic garden work, girl. I'm trying out your seed starter recipe soil up north of you in Roseburg Oregon. I actually bought Azumite for soil on your recommendation. Hope your creek never floods.
Congratulations on your new property. Unfortunately life is full of questions. I’ve been around a lot longer than you. My experience is the answer to life’s questions changes as we age. Never be afraid to change and adapt. Ask where you want to be at age 65 and use that as your game plan. Your videos are alway so full of joy. So glad you’re back
congrats dear, for all the times you moved around and lived with others, you finally got a place of your own 😀 maybe one day youll come back to Texas
Thanks! I still go back to Texas to visit sometimes, but unfortunately can't live there ever again - my body is simply allergic to something about it, and it's too frustrating and uncomfortable to try to manage on a daily basis.
@@VeronicaFlores i totally understand. if you ever happen to be in the quitman/lake fork area please let me know, would love to meet you and i can show you my landscape project. best of luck you got alot of work ahead but i know youll love it.
It looks a lot like my area in Arkansas! So rustic and beautiful. It has been a brutal summer of heat and still no rain but it will all work out. The winter can be rough also at times but it looks like you are firewood rich.
Congrats pretty lady
I missed this until now. I wasn't certain you'd come back to YT, I know it can be a tough place for some content creators. I have always enjoyed your videos and look forward to any new ones you make.
It’s a very tough place! But I’m back and I’ll kick it in my comments for as long as I’m able to mentally navigate them (and keep creating regardless, because my goal is to help and share ❤️)
The spider at 2:28 looks awesome!
So awesome! It's tarantula migration season in CA ❤️
Congratulations Veronica! So happy for you.
Thank you!!
I missed you Veronica✌🏼💚 … I’ve always liked listening and learning from you and your proudly soiled hands about living off the land, landscaping, growing and philosophies. : ) Guess I might be a little late welcoming you back... but nevertheless Welcome Back. Looking forward to see what you are up to… 🐸
Watercress, water-bars & waterfalls, WONDERFUL
It's good to see you're back. Best of luck with the new place. 😄
I am so excited for you!!!! Welcome back! I can't wait!
Beautiful personality.- best wishes in creating your paradise.
Welcome to TN. Good luck on your new adventure.
Congratulations. This is really exciting!
Also document the wildlife around there. That could be a video on its own and very interesting...
Oh for sure! I'll be working a lot on stewarding trout habitat, and creating a safe haven for insects :)
@@VeronicaFlores according to Wikipedia Tennessee is the most biodiverse inland state in the US. Don't that just make your toes curl of excitement.. water is life and that place has loads of it.
YES! There are many reasons I landed on TN, and that's definitely one of them. :)
First of all, congrats! It's a pretty awesome thing to have your own property where you get to do whatever you want with it. And that creek is awesome. I'm also really glad to hear you mention natives and their ecological benefits. I feel like way too many gardeners haven't figured out the importance of natives yet. Not to mention there are some great native food sources that are way underutilized. Looking forward to seeing what you do!
Yes! I'm pretty obsessed with native plants because I LOVE BUGS 😅 looking forward to working with native edibles that all species enjoy ❤️
You look really happy. :-)
Awesome! Glad to see you doing well.
Glad things worked out so far and that you're back to making content. Well played!
You have everyone's dream home good luck
Hope it has all the good feels and happiness. :)
The vibes are pretty great ❤️
It's okay to dream everybody has dreams and shoot for the Moon to find your happy place just keep in the back your mind one thing bubbles break but there's nothing wrong with making new bubbles
Looks like a really cool property, hope all goes well!
Congratulations very exciting
The Tennessee mountains are a great climate for your channel, because it’s very similar to the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, where so many of us live.
I sure hope so! I knew I wanted to be in a slightly less cold zone 7 (soon to be closer to 8) and did a lot of climate map overlays to try and determine some ideal locations based on future projections because I really don't feel like moving again anytime soon if I don't have to. 😅
Hope you are doing well in your new space! I also just bought a house with big plans to grow. :)
Nice to see you back on RUclips 🤗 Happy New Year 🎊🎆
Happy new year!
Congratulations!
Need to get a water wheel to generate electricity. Congratulations 🎊 ❤
Looking into doing a mini turbine setup!
Congratulations.
Great stuff.
I’m real happy for you.
I miss your videos and Congratulations
♡♡♡
Bol Kiddo! Hope you can share your re-engineering your landscape & I am curious if your going to do any husbandry too? Again Congratulations!
Definitely will be sharing a lot of the land work, as there will be tons of contouring and planning involved. While I really want geese, I may also consider keeping some chickens! Looking forward to working with neighbors who are doing animal husbandry though, so I don't need to as much of it and can focus on plants :)
My longer comment disappeared. I was curious why TN? Congratulations 🍾 be safe and be careful.
Oh no! The number one reason in terms of "why" is ample water. Number two is a business partnership that feels like it works really well for me. Number three is because it's freaking beautiful there, and I like the idea of living in a mountain range that's older than dinosaur bones.
@@VeronicaFlores I wish you great success 🍾🌻
Congrats
Where about in Tennessee are you? If we are neighbors, I'd like to invite you over for dinner and a garden tour. Congratulations on picking the best state to move to. Love your waterfall !!!
On the Southeastern end way up in the mountains! I'll likely be looking to connect with more gardeners in the area in the near future - stay tuned 🙂
@@VeronicaFlores Sounds like you might be close to Steven of the Nature's Always Right channel. Good guy to know. I'm further north and west, near Cookeville. You can tour my gardens online at the Late Bloomer channel. Just go to the playlist and find Bamboo Oasis and see all the videos that were filmed here. I've been organic gardening for 47 years. It's exciting to see lots of cool homesteader type people from all over the place coming to Tennessee. We need to have a big get together someday. Best of luck at your new place.
Thanks I'll have to take a look! Steven unfortunately is very vocal about things that aren't in line with my ethics and values, so tbh I can't imagine pursuing that connection, but I'd likely be interested if there's a big get together and I know well enough in advance! 🙂
I envy the lucky guy that ends up with her. what a gem, beautiful
intelligent ,driven and strong and so pleasent
The sentiment of this comment is uncomfortably close to the inappropriate way she's been treated by men in the past few years. How about valuing Veronica's work and passion without drooling like this? It's a weird way to treat a person you do not know.
@@FodderMoosie I see absolutely nothing wrong with a compliment what is this world coming to when you can't compliment somebody and by the way I'm 80 years old so you're barking up the wrong tree
@foddermoosie TY - the extent to which men objectify me is directly proportional to how much my affection for men wanes 😅
(No but FR: I’ve yet to experience the objectification of the cishet male gaze without it having the entitlement/intent of exploitation as well, so thank you for reading this room. 🙏🏼)
@@davidg813 Meant no offense to you personally, friend. I would just suggest you watch her more recent video. Some pretty scary and unwanted attention from a stranger. I'm assuming you didn't mean to come off that way, so I'm not trying to, like, yell at you. There are just some things that have happened lately that you might not be aware of.
@@VeronicaFlores Appreciate all the ways you work with the green things in this world, and I'm sorry you have to wade through all this other stuff. I'm glad you've found new soil and you're putting down new roots
🥬💚✌
You'er BACK!!!
Veronica, happy for you. Very curious to know if you are still pursuing your cooking career? Best to you with your new home. ;p)
I'm not looking to work as a private chef at the moment, though I'm open to entertaining special projects that have ample budget and give me creative freedom - I will be expanding video content to include cooking in the coming months though, as it's been such an integral part of my journey with gardening!
Look into aqua ducts to water your property!! Congratulations!
Thanks! Definitely contemplating ram pumps and gravity fed systems (and also hydroelectric!)
Yay!!!
Congratulations! Please keep in mind: poison ivy (on your dogs fur, too), fleas, chiggers, ants. Have someone take you around your area looking for morels come springtime. And for goal planning/managing, recommend online info from Jim Rohn and Zig Ziglar.
And ticks! 😩
Pleased to see you pop up on my RUclips notifications. Cheers!
Im happy for you! Hope to do much the same soon, im gonna try writing it down.
Home is where you duke the hardest.
Welcome back to the tubes !
I’m not halfway thru the vid - I’m guessing close to Knoxville / gatlinburg ?
East of there but yeah on that side of the state!
💪
Tennessee has plenty of good neighbors - You should be able to make out all right over there.
❤
How much total area is the lot?
About 2.5 acres between the two combined, including the creek and a little bit of land on the other side of it
👍
