This chorus took me 3 times thru the song to actually hear. For some reason they were just words. Then I was watching a reaction and I finally heard them. They broke me a little once I heard what he was saying. My kids caught me crying and came to comfort me, so I had them watch the react. My youngest son plays this song on repeat now. The chorus hits him in the chest too. All unmanifested/unfulfilled wishes.... #HOG

I just found MrLboyd yesterday... and cannot get enough of his videos. You are so right, he just strikes me as someone I could talk with for hours about everything and anything.
Possibly his single most underrated song. This should have been and still should be all over the radio. A nostalgic trip down memory lane. I woke up this morning and thought to myself, I wonder if MrLboyd ever reacted to “I Wish.” If he did, I’d really like to see that. Yeah, it’s gonna be a good day.

We grew up in a different generation. We played 2 hand touch football in the streets and tackle in yards and basketball and baseball and just roamed the neighborhood with our friends all day instead of sitting inside being programmed like kids today

i'm 29, i got the same. i actually work training 18-22 year olds in old fashioned labour. ''smart kids'' is what they are on paper, but no smart jobs during covid,
its fun and terrifying at the same time seeing them completely melt down when they cant write down 8 digits correctly because they have to ''lift something first and thats hard so i forget it'' and then the pencil is gone or the sticker wont stick. when u say a 12 year old could learn it within a day they snub why do i got to write down the number, the computer can learn to do it... yes smarty pants, your earning minimumwage by shipping stuff they make little over a penny profit on, will you go buy the 100,000$ computer and make the extra sales required to just keep that thing going 24/7?
i feel like i'm blessed to be of the last pre social media generation.
life isnt what i exactly expected, but hey i can enjoy it without a phone tv or social media, and dont break down when i have to do something i got to do, even if i dont like it.

I have two children 26 and 17 and we've had long discussions about my childhood and the differences. It hit me pretty hard when my 17 yr old said " wow that's so cool, I wish I was born back then. I could ride my bike anywhere, know what it's like to explore all day with friends, and not be bullied by strangers online" I do not live on my phone or computer and the kids didn't either but there is a certain need to be online to feel connected to the world. But in the same way we need to shield ourselves from being constantly bombarded by it. It's anxiety inducing to never find calm. So if that's unplugging for hours to days I'd suggest it

If you don't have regrets then you don't want that time machine. With how much the little details can change shit why mess with it unless you feel like you've really fucked up somewhere. I just hope I give my kids a happy childhood. That's great if you'd want to go back and relive that time. I'm 31. We can still enjoy shit outside of technology. Times are changing. Who knows if this a downhill track but you just gotta keep living for tomorrow, or today. I think this is such an underrated song from Tom.

I haven't seen you admit it yet but you definitely seem to be hangovergang at this point whether you want to admit it or not. been working at camp for 17 years. it is just sad to see how many kids dont want to be outside anymore. when i was a kid and went to camp our basketball hoops and swimming areas were loaded with kids. now they just want to be inside. some kids still swim and the other thing too is like so many kids dont know how to swim anymore. we had a cycling class at the last camp for 9 and 10 years olds. 18 kids were in that class and 10 of them didnt know how to ride a bike. so we took a week to teach 10 kids how to ride a bike and the other 8 went on to do what the class was supposed to entail. its just sad. dont be scared to put your phone down and go outside.
I remember hide and seek, pickup football games, kill the man with the ball, late nights with the neighborhood kids at the community pool. War with toy guns, water guns, climbing trees and late summer nights under the street light so moms can still see you

Growing up at the end of the 80's and through the 90's life was very different. We made fun of each other, TO EACH OTHERS FACES. Peoples feelings got hurt, I've had my jaw rocked more than once. Those real life experiences built things like self esteem, common sense, respect, appreciation and morality. If the country was so systemically racists, as is the new norm, why have we always had a trial with juries. We are judged by our peers, all walks of life in society. Here in 2021 there are just a bunch of cry babies that have grown up on a nipple. When I turned 18, way back in the 2000's lol I couldn't wait to leave home and get out on my own and see what life was really about, now everyone sits behind a computer screen and experiences life through pixels... Our country really is a beautiful place, if you take the time to get out of your mommas house and see for yourself. It's amazing how wrong the media is...
