    Can anyone tell me whether people are still eating dirt cookies in Cité Soleil? I saw a video from 2008 and it horrified me. Has food security improved since the earthquake?

    They need to do the same thing Nigeria did.They left LAGOS behind and built a new Capital which is Abuja. Leave Port au prince and built a new Capital where only people with a half million bank account can buy land there.No rat trap houses.

    Is not Cite-Soleil the most dangerous place in the world?

    • @SaraBowercanada
      @SaraBowercanada 9 лет назад +2

      with the exception of Raqqa Syria and Somalia yes it is. Don`t let this video fool you. As a westerner, you`d either be robbed, kidnapped, killed or all three within hrs if not sooner

      Sara Bower Bullcrap, this is not MEXICO. The Haitian people have the same mentality as most western Africans, they see white people as high valued people, for some sick psychological reason, more-so than their own. They'll take a bullet for a white man/woman while their own brother gets shot to death. They're not in love with the westerner but they'll give the shirts off their backs to one. I don't know where you visited in Haiti but the Cite is not the most dangerous place on the planet.

      Ann Boylen Sad. So they have some sort of uncle tom syndrome.

      Ann Boylen You`re right l have never been to Haiti, and should have done more research before l wrote that statement

      Sara Bower You could call it Uncle Tom or you could call it a high sense of hospitality like you find in Asia. Haitians pride themselves on how they treat their guests, including visiting foreigners. If we treat you like our own, you will understand our plight...I guess psychologically it's from year of depedency theory taking hold over the populace.
