Thank you so much! This was super comprehensive and relieved my anxiety for my first-ever pre-release tomorrow. I've only played the Pokémon TCG with one person at home, never at an event. And it's been a while too... 😅I owe you a sub! ✨ Also, I LOVE your strawberry shirt! 🍓
Youre welcome glad I could help take some of the stress out of it so you can focus on having fun and meeting people in the community! . . . It's a pretty good shirt 😂🍓
played two prereleases this weekend: 1. can't hear the word kofu anymore. 2. ledian seemed nice but was useless in both releases 3. tegaturtle ex combined with sparkling Cristal was a very good idea that made me win the second tournament 👍
The Crabominable combo . . . The 2 Pokemon do not exactly include "Kofu's " in their names but you just KNOW they are Kofu's personal Pokemon. I personally think they are more like Owner's Pokemon than most Owner's Pokemon 🤣
Thank you for making this video! I’m going to my first ever pre release event Wednesday and my first time playing the physical card game and this is by far the best preparation video on the internet! 👍👍👍
This comment genuinely made my day, love hearing when my videos are able to help people 😀 Thats so exciting! Best of luck at the pre-release would love to hear how you go! 😀
@@TripleBtcg Just had my first prerelease today and ended up with 1 tie and 2 losses after 3 best of three rounds. The tips you mentioned were helpful but sadly got no good pulls both in the prerelease kit (to add into the base 40 card deck provided) and 3 Stellar Crown prize packs afterwards 😭 it was a cool experience though
I just started collecting pokemon TCGs this month because our 7-11 stores have a promo where you can buy the stellar crown booster packs there :D I instantly fell in love with the cards and wanted to learn how to play it so thank you so much for this insightful video! I'm still hoping to get a lapras ex because i want to play a lapras deck so bad but I think I'm also alright with a driftblim deck :D

That's awesome, solid run! 😀 Ya sometimes the packs are like that haha The event I went to was similar I got a FA Kofu but the bouffalant ledian kit but 2 joltik so that was pretty sick haha. Should be another prerelease in November for Surging Sparks! 😀
I've already done a prerelease last week but I had such a great time that I think I will do one this week too 😅. Looking forward to opening some more stellar crown packs 👀
Dragon shield has major quality control issues lately. I got split sleeves in boxes and even miscut sizes . They aren’t the same as they were in 2005- for example when they shuffled like butter. Now they grip and have sharp shuffling feel as well I prefer katana now
@@TripleBtcg i guess but I went to the prerelease today and bought a box of dragon shields and half the box was the wrong size 😂 they were Japanese sized 😂

@@TripleBtcg they don’t have them at my LGs for a good price they’re way too much $ there for katana. So I picked up dragonshield and they had to replace my box as soon as I opened it.

@@TripleBtcg haha okay fair enough. I had a friend who would pronounce Magikarp as "Maggy-Karp" ignoring the fact that it's literally a 'magic' 'karp' lol. Also your video was my help going into my first prerelease in years, and it wasn't enough - I got Drifblim but won only 2/4 haha. Next time maybe.
For at a pre-release? Underdepths and terapagos would go hard, other than that not much, thats also dependent on you pulling to hard to get pieces from 4 packs though haha. Main call would be focus on your combos from the kit and find little additions to improve it's consistency and as secondary attackers if you happen to hit them. Most the EX's in the set are unfortunately . . . not great lol
Thanks for the great content! This is my first pre-release, I'll play it on the 13th, I'm nervous because I only play TCG Online. Brazilian boosters only come with 6 cards, so we have to be very lucky when it comes to putting together a good deck. Hugs from Brazil.
Thank you for the great comment! 😀 That's so crazy there's only 6 cards I'm your packs??? Are the setlists the same and just different odds of hitting rarities in a pack? Like 3 common, 2 uncommon, 1 rare or how does it work? 🤔 That would definetly make prerelease a VERY different experience! I wonder if there's more than 4 packs??? Would love to find out after you go 😀 Hugs from the Canadian in Koala Country 🐨 🇨🇦
@@TripleBtcg If I’m not mistaken, in the pre-release we get 6 boosters and a pre-built deck of 23 cards. Then we build a 40-card deck and play. Our boosters usually come with 4 commons, one uncommon, and one rare/trainer/item/energy. In a booster box with 36 packs, sometimes there are only 3 ultra rares/special illustration cards. We need to open a lot of boosters to complete a set. Special cards are very expensive here; Charizard ex - 199/165 is being sold for $160 when converting the currency. But our boosters only cost $2 because they contain fewer cards. At least we have translated cards manufactured domestically, which helps with distribution to almost every market or newsstand.
The translations before the cards were officially revealed had it as ready to cook as shown in the on screen kit mock-up. Gets a bit confusing bouncing between the official one and the one we have in lead up as I do card reveals when we get them from Japan 😅 . . . So long story short, I goofed 😂
@@TripleBtcg Oo that makes sense. I was not sure which one was correct. I just saw it called Food Prep on my physical cards. So, I was wondering if there were different versions of the card for the pre-release version. But if it was just reworded, that would make sense.
Yup that's all it is 😀 Just using proxies ahead of the actual release, same goes for the shorts I post the names may change but effects should be the same.

Is it cheaper to have single cards imported?
Simply pull two terapagos, a briar and the bouffalant deck and go 5-0 like I did.
Any suggestions on how to do that? 😜
