Professor Christoph Maack (Würzburg), Sprecher des Deutsches Zentrum für Herzinsuffizienz (DZHI), diskutiert die neuen Empfehlungen der European Society of Cardiology (ESC) für die Herzinsuffizienz, die am 27.08.2021 von der ESC publiziert worden sind. Daneben erläutert Professor Maack, inwieweit die gleichfalls am 27.08.2021 veröffentlichte EMPEROR-Preserved Studie zur Empaglflozin-Therapie bei Herzinsuffizienz mit erhaltener Pumpfunktion ("Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction"; HFpEF) die aktuellen Leitlinien ergänzen.
