Remember back in the days when the most handsome stars were called "Mattinee Idols"....Well Clint Walker is the ultimate Idol in this clip, in that white jacket, he looks positively Regal..how elegant can one man be???
I saw this film in a local theater here way back in '65. Jay North appeared on stage to introduce the movie, talk about his experiences making it, etc. As I recall, the theater was jammed as his presence had been advertised in advance, plus he was well-known from "Dennis". It's a fun memory to have!
I'm with you Carrtide, I kinda remember it too, because Jay North was popular because of" Dennis the Mennace.". But one look at Clint and my mouth fell open.. I think he looks absolutely delicious in this movie... This is next on my list of must buy.......
The finale of this film was Clint Walker facing off with a bengal tiger in a tree overlooking a running stream. With his gun jammed, Clint takes out his hunting knife and puts it on the end of a bamboo stick. When the tiger jumos off the tree brand, Clint spears the tiger and drowns it in the water. Poor tiger, never knew it was biting off too mucj when it squared off against big Clint Walker!
Watched this movie last night, definitely a family movie, as so many of Clint's films were....But the main focus of this film was primarily about a friendship between two boys, and the journey they have together with" Maya" the elephant and the baby White Elephant, who is considered to bring luck to any village who has it (or in this case tries to steal it)....Although Clint was the main star along with Jay North..he did not have a major role in this film...not enough screen time .WHY???, ):
I enjoyed the tv series of Maya. My favourite character was Terry played by Jay North. Only saw a random clip of it on RUclips purely by accident. I was hooked. Went and bought the entire series on DVD. India looks like a really beautiful and fascinating country. My favourite episode was called "The Allapur Conspiracy"
Has anyone ever noticed how many times you see Clint eating in his films?? Everytime I watch Cheyenne, I say he's eating again... I wonder if he put on any weight ... LOL
Clint!!!!!!i will always love this big golden guy!
AND HIS VOICE....SOOOOO VERY SPECIAL....WILL NOT BE ANOTHER LIKE IT....OR ANY OTHER MAN LIKE MR. CLINT WALKER....WHAT A WONDER...💞💝💖🎭😌☺️🤗

Hard to watch Jay North and *not* see "Dennis the Menace".
Very much so. I think Dennis the Menace is predominantly what Jay will be remembered for. But I loved Maya and Jay was outstanding in portraying Terry
OH CLINT, I JUST GOTTA YOU....................
Where can I get this movie?
Jay is better with no colic sticking up. He was mistreated being forced into playing Dennis.
Moserbear...
Where can I buy this movie?
Amazon. That's where I bought mine and the TV series too
