I never get tired of seeing Glen play. His voice, the songs and lyrics. Such talent. I have to admit that alot of his random stories and jokes go right over my head!:)
I have listened to this at least 4 times over the years. Glen is one of the best singer/songwriters around today. I love his solo work more than most of his Toad work (though some of his Toad lyrics are also brilliant). Thanks so much for posting this brilliant concert.
One of my faves, for several reasons. It surprised me to see that Glen was wearing flip flops. It is always a treat to listen to one of his interviews (and there are several on RUclips). The man is more than a good voice and a talented musician with compositional artistry.
I just found this gem, and am so grateful I did; hearing and seeing Glen solo, and his stunning lyrics, incredibly expressive and unique voice, not to mention his being a guitar guru - what a treat!
I came across 'toad' late nineties when I happened to see the film dropzone and got hooked on the track 'fall down'. since then I've followed Glen's solo work too and I'm always amazed at how his songs speak to me immediately from the very first time I hear them. amazing artist, my life is far richer for his songs. Thanks for this video.
My favorite Toad song! I've played it on my own acoustic a few times (drop D with with a capo on 2, just like he does here). It's fun but tricky to play. That deep hum you hear is actually the low D and B strings being plucked together at the same time...beautiful harmony! I don't claim to be anywhere near as good as he is but once your fingers get moving in the right rhythm, you can kind of keep moving them that way without thinking about it too much and sing over it. It takes a lot of practice to get it down.
40:40 it's "we sometimes stare and linger at the edge, we like to dare each other how close were can get and there's a pact we made, if one should fall the other follows in."
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Glen being so real. I love the guy. I was reminded of Patti Smith screwing up the song "A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall" at the Nobel Prize ceremony. She was so authentic in that snafu, looking embarrassed but pulling it off when she rejoined the melody. She received sympathetic applause from the distinguished audience.
I think he has some good ideas and is a decent song writer. But if I was at a show and the band/artist messed up my favourite song, stalled and then didn't even do it again i'd feel very let down.
Why are so many amazing talented artists such lefties? I'll answer my own question. Totally right-brained. All emotion. Just wish they weren't so obnoxious.
I’m back 😊❤️🎶🎶🎶yet again.Glen always brightens my day.😊☀️🌻❤️
I’m always coming back here 😊❤️🌻🎶Glen is simply an amazing human and songwriter. But he’s so much more than a songwriter.

amazing version of 'windmills'. takes some real talent to pull that off solo like he does here.

22. Don't Need Anything 1:25:10
who the hell did thumbs down on this?
The 12th song is called "Reincarnation song". But you may already know that.
The only song I actually wanted to hear live (The Hole) he messed up a quarter of the way in. He's right, that was disappointing.
More a poet than songwriter
Between the Bars by Elliott Smith.
Marigolds sounds like it could be a Simon and Garfunkel song.
🤣🤣🤣 The fan
