@@ShannonHeatonMusic Thanks, Shannon. I play along with your ''Tap Room'' on piano, substituting jazz harmony. If I ever get around to buying and learning an editing program, I'll send it to you.
@@ShannonHeatonMusic I live in the U.S., but was recently on vacation in the West of Ireland in Galway and heard trad musicians playing the Tap Room. Well, I asked them what it was called. It got to me. That's why I RUclipsd it, and found your channel. In my opinion, that tune channels something deep about the Irish archetype that really moves me.
@@johntobin9404 It is a good tune... and it's so WONDERFUL when a particular tune really hits you that way. The classic recording of the Tap Room for me is from “An Historic Recording of Irish Traditional Music from County Clare and East Galway” with Paddy Canny on fiddle, PJ Hayes on fiddle, and Bridie Lafferty on piano. Also, I just uploaded a hasty kitchen recording of it for you from some years back (Matt & Shannon with our pal Dan Gurney): soundcloud.com/shannonheatonmusic/tap-room-kitchen-set
It DOES have that classic E modal vibe, Paul! It's trad, and you can learn more about it at www.irishtune.info/tune/1876/ I LOVE the P. Joe Hayes/Paddy Canny recording of it. And I love the way my friend George Keith plays it.
Thanks for sharing this tune with us! 🤗
It's a really great tune, Daniel!
Thanks Sharon, I am a banjo player and that pause helps me a lot also to keep the rhythm.
That is great to hear. And glad that you can seize the musical idea here!
Thanks for sharing, Shannon!
I like this turn a lot ! Thank you for sharing this 😊
Played awesomely. What a great groove.
thanks, John. Irish rhythm CAN play itself, you know? Once you get infected!

@@ShannonHeatonMusic Thanks so much, Shannon. Yes, that's mighty.
Thanks Shannon. Another great tune. Have a good Christmas.
Merry Christmas, David!
Brilliant Sharon it's quite like a hybrid of Drowsy Maggie and The Green Fields of Rosbeigh. Is it your own composition?
