I haven’t hunted one in a field in quite some time. They are equally fun and frustrating. They drift towards you; they drift away. They really give you the ultimate highs and lows of emotion.
They were gobbling good here on the alabama side of the pinhoti! Counting the days. In the mean time you are helping to ease the pain with these videos lol
Thought they wouldve gobbled in Lowndes county Sunday morning but didn't hear a peep all day,I know I can come here and watch Dave give it to em tho. I've been in North Central and South Bama all my life but I don't have a clue what this Pinhoti thing is. I always assumed it was Cherokee for turkey or something like that.
@@YELLOWLEAF205 it's an Indian word meaning "turkey home". The pinhoti trail is a hiking trail that runs from Bama up through Georgia. I plan to hit Lowndes next week to try to locate some myself.
You a lucky joker there cefus. I hope 2022 is full of wonderful memories. This is the year I get my son hooked! Well even more than he already is. I am going to let him shoot one this year. That is my mission. Happy hunting brother!
oh well what ever floats your boat but come on 52.6 and that winning shit -you are in the backyard man so maybe you are not winning no matter what , i probably hunt the most pressures land in the usa lower hudson valley in nys (not bragging its sad but true)it will teach you what winning is and let me tell you as you very well know winning comes at all kinds of distances or at least it very well can and there definitely aint no decimals in hunting and im very detailed but man does that shit give me a headache i bet you d smoke that wagon if it were the last day of the season or whatever and definitely wouldnt worry about decimals and winning good luck! so if i get a tom at 10 yards on that dirt i just mentioned is that extra winning or is it just regular winning like if it were 40 yards
Gotta take into consideration he makes part of his living on these videos & gets to hunt much more than the average turkey hunter. His opinions and value in a hunt isn't for everyone, its just his.
I agree with Dave. Maybe u grew up with camo plastic and ported choke tubes, so your definition of 'winning' has always been within the parameters of your guns limits, but not everybody is like that. Based off Dave's hunt, and how it went down, i agree with him. The bird won. I shoot a modern gun with tss, but if my grandpas 2 3/4" model 12 couldnt take the shot, neither will i. Turkey hunting isnt about killing. In reality, when the trigger is pulled, is when the real fun stops. Plus, sometimes passing on a bird, is just an excuse to keep hunting. But i also understand, that we are all entitled to our own opinion. I will ask tho - if you could legally kill one with a rifle at 100 yards, would you still call that winning? After all, 10, 20, 40, 100. Whats the diff? Who cares about distance as long as the bird is dead. Right?
“You still haven’t won at 52.6” If only more folks understood that.
Yes 💯🦃♥️
Great Line- “you still haven’t won at 52.6”

Amazing video… that was a situation where I would say calling played a huge factor. Great hunt.
Ok,that does it! I'm gonna let you take me hunting!😎
We are blessed to have these to watch. Thank you!
Much respect Mr Dave.

That turkey in the middle of an open field is always a problem
Thanks for the video Dave
Me and my boy just knocked the beaks off 2 fine Osceola farm field birds this morning.
BDT TURKEYS- Burning daylight turkeys. They are fun to watch but I would much rather chase them in the hardwoods.
Good huntin
What part of Wisconsin were you in?

52.6. That no question for me but i shoot a 12.
He would have no problem killing it with his 20ga. He’s saying he didn’t beat the turkey so he’s not going to shoot it.
