I'm planning on booking my seat for may but I've got my housejob as well. Do you think it's advisable to give the exam during it (ill start studying now) given that I'll take a month off before the exam for dedicated studying?

Yes, if you can finish your first read with solving MCQ's within month and a half or so it is possible.
