Great tutorial and it really isn't difficult. LIRR Commuter is a massive improvement over the original route. I have always preferred using safety systems but found the original LIRR hard to understand because it didn't work quite right, with reworked signaling I find the new version a breeze, helpful and fun. Also, TOD4 brings this route to life in the tunnels where you couldn't see much previously - the very low speeds at Penn and Atlantic terminal are so much less tedious when you can see ahead and enjoy the textures and lighting. Obviously the additional branch and other TSW4 features are a great bonus too.
Thanks for this, very useful. Point of order to whoever added the captions though - it's "summary", not "summery" (unless you're talking about summery weather!).
Thank you so much for making this safety systems tutorial for TSW4 LIRR route. Route is fantastic and a splendid update from the original. I think this video on safety systems will also help on NY-Trenton NJ Transit route as well.
Great, very enjoyable when i got a hang on it.I learned also today practice makes perfect.Very interesting to get to know other security systems.Greatscenarios too!
I found that when the speed limit drops, if I press the acknowledge button immediately, the brakes will automatically activate until the speed is lower than the speed limit and then released again.
I really like that Safety Systems are on by default, but having them not being able to turn off cuts of a big chunk of my Fun in TSW4. I do love realistic driving, but goofing around speeding constantly is also a lot of Fun sometimes, and that is impossible like this
And that is one of the reasons why mta made the decision. Ufortunately it was comply with mta or lose the license and not have anymore mta which I'm sure nobody wants
@@Samsquanch870 Apparently, the MTA doesn’t want people to buy TSW and then use it as a guide to “steal trains” which surprisingly is an issue that the agency is still dealing with now and not the 1980s. Pretty much they want to mislead you so that if you try that irl, you go “dUrh WhY tRaIn NoT mOvInG?!”, completely ignoring the manuals leaked online and stupidly, not forcing the same updated restrictions on the GCT to NWP DLC that’s still on sale.
No. Mta required dtg to keep them on at all times in order to allow the route in the first place. It's licensing rules. Follow the rules or scrap the project
I'm not going to lie - when I first heard this route has safety systems forced to on, I mentally gave it a pass. (I'm a filthy casual lol) But this video has me intrigued ... it's now mentally turned into a "management' sim for me hehe.
Sehs already has a lot on it. Certain consoles are also struggling a bit. It's time to let other routes get a chance rather than focusing on sehs which already got a lot on it
But why, not everyone wants the safety systems on cus sometimes speeding or testing can be fun I think it’s the laziness of the TSW4 not bothering to simulate the safety systems on and off switches but I maybe overthinking.
maybe a stupid question - 19:21 approximately - he says +1 to +3 above speed limit it does nothing, then +4 to +6 it beeps... more than +6 stops the train he still is in full throttle, but it cuts the power at like +4 and applies brakes (till he presses Acknowledge and resets the throttle)... and he says above +6 you get penalty brakes automatically... so... EXCEPT OF speed drops (when you find yourself waaay above the limit so you have to brake etc)... as long as you acknowledge you are above speed limit, it is virtually impossible to go +6 above? cos... as I am watching that part, he has full power applied, going 64, still speeding, power cuts, brake applies automatically, he Acknowledges and he resets power... so, when going from under the limit to above the limit, ACSES actually wont let you go +6 I dont get why anyone would want to go +6 or more above speed limit, but watching this, it wont even let you? like, if it detects you are going way too fast, it automatically cuts power? someone pls explain, or am I tangling my brain wires myself? :D
>=6mph above the ATC speed would occur if you were already travelling at a higher line speed (eg 60-80mph) and then ATC drops to say 40mph (eg because you've caught up to another train or a restriction approaching a junction or station)
@@JihCastoroDilone well talking to them wouldn't change things. It's not saying "make it" and it magically appears the next day. Everything takes time and effort

@@potatoman451 When did he ever say the game was bad? Why do you put words in his mouth? Are you saying that it wouldn't be fun to see other players driving trains in this game?
Why in the hell doesn't the speed match between the HUD and dashboard? I would think that would be one of the FIRST THINGS you'd make sure matches. Then again, you are one of the worst software companies out there 🤷♂️ stay greedy DTG 🙄
The hud only tells you the track speed limits which are realistic by the way. In real life, atc/acses will dynamically change your speed depending on the traffic in front of you or if there is a speed restriction and a bunch of other factors and it would actually make the hud extremely messy and cluttered. Those are not speed limits of the track. It would be useful if you did some research into lirr signaling instead of getting angry at the developers
Great to see you further promoting the use of safety systems! But don't let the FRA catch you driving with your headlights off!
