Does the disc model free spool with the drag set to the lowest setting, or is there enough resistance to stop free spooling?

There is a "base" click that creates resistance and keeps the spool from free spooling regardless of where the the drag is set.

Thanks, will consider it. I don't like disc drag reels where I have to apply drag just to keep from free spooling. Any other disc drag reels you carry that don't free spool with drag set at lowest setting you can recommend?@@mossycreekflyfishing

Thank You so much for your review!! But I have a question!! Why do nearly all fly shops avoid mentioning that Neither model of the Battenkill reels (Disc Drag or Clicker), are made in England, but instead they're made, in either China or South Korea.! Oh yes before the 1960s they were made in England!! And of those sell for $750.00 to $800.00 on eBay (USED)!!

Moving their production overseas for some of their models is what keeps them at the prices they are in todays market. (Clearwater, Battenkill, Hydros). They make a couple in the US as the Mirage reels and the New CFO are built in the shop in Vermont. We always love seeing the older ones made in England!
