Thanks so much for taking to time to do this!
It's rare to find people engaging analytically with my words - this was a real treat for me - thank you.
I look forward to watching your other videos.

Great analysis. Thanks for that! I usually don't listen to the text of music that I listen to that carefully, but you convinced me, that reading the lyrics to the songs might be a great idea this time :D

Awesome video. That whole album just helped me dealing with a lot of heavy stuff, I agree with changing the order of some tracks though

i think coconut crab revolves around the dichotomy between artist and the listener what with their interests being somewhat aligned and their grievances highlighting their innate difference. Even if the listener feels similar to the artist and shares the feeling of wanting success for the artist via them making more music, the artist differs in that they want to retain their enjoyment with their medium and meet the expectations set on themselves and by others. Its kind of like a discussion with oneself and an external third party yelling at and over each other to get their conflicting yet coinciding opinions heard first. this is something i kinda relate to on the daily (unfortunately) due to me feeling an intense depression as of the last 4 years. There is a battle with making art that appeases the people who enjoy my past works and making something that genuinely satisfies me. Pairing that with the internal conflict of never getting anything done and you find yourself in a battle with people who arent even there. I think the overall message of coconut crab is quite positive in that in the end it encourages the depressed and otherwise overwhelmed to just do something. In the end its good for you whether it feels great all the time or not.

Destroy the tabernacle seems to be about the inability to truly communicate what one experiences. “The vow of silence” is probably in reference to Wittgenstein. I may be completely off though

“mortality, mental illness and math rock” wouldve been a better title but still great video nonetheless
