Dozza: Città d'Arte - Day Trip from Bologna

My favorite day trip from Bologna is the small hill town of Dozza. To get there, we took the number 101 bus from the central bus station toward Imola. It’s about 1 hour to the PIro Piro stop from which we walked the remaining 30 minutes. There is a second bus (number 147) you can catch uphill or the drive is about 45 minutes.
Dozza is known as an open-air art gallery. Every three years, the residents open their walls and invite artists from all over the world to leave their creations behind. There are several small restaurants, and we enjoyed lunch of fried polenta and a farmers’ salad on the terrace at Osteria di Dozza.
