I don't know, peeling the plastic off is a once in a lifetime thing for a device. I can always polish this again. I'll never be able to peel the plastic off of one of my radios again.

I just did the same with a J-38 from ebay
I did this to my J-38 key many years ago. I really need to do it again. It's gotten quite tarnished.

Valid question. I literally don't need anything. I just went to see friends and have some fun. Plus I don't need to spend any more money on ham radio stuff. I do just fine at that all by myself. I mean, I go to all 3 ham fests every year...yet here we are. Me spending more money 🤣

Adjust the gap on the paddle with a piece of paper in between the contacts. You don't want a lot of slop in your key. KE6VG
It's pretty darn good the way I have it surprisingly. Though I'm not really a CW operator at all, being a guitar player my whole life, I do understand good action. Good tip though!
