Great work, my only problem with all these people using ultra light gear is there are alot of fish swimming around with hooks, lures and how ever much line attached, its not good and so many don't know good knots and drag control, im guessing you're using fg join lol
Good luck catching anything without the UL gear somedays, I did pretty well on this occasion, that same slug and leader knot landed me 20+ fish, if you do it right, it’s no problem. 100% have to use a FG for casting like this, Albright or Uni won’t cut it and will damage your guides or knot every cast. All in all, chasing tuna on 8lb line is dumb, no one should do it, but if you’re confident in your gear, and you don’t intend to release the fish, give it a go if the heavier gear isn’t working.
@@Jackomac yeah i know what your sayin man, ive seen alot of people using granny knots on light gear with big baits so many dont set drag too, my go to was double uni way back 15years mostly targeting lizards and it never failed then i went to Albright, i do fg but i hate tieing them 🤬 🙄😂
@@mezame1626 Albright is solid as if you need to get back in the water, I can tie one in about 30 seconds, FG on the other hand takes about 5 mins out on the boat, but 100 worth the extra effort.
@@Jackomac true, FG with recaso finish at home then Albright at the water its just super quick and easy, i van feel it through the guides but its not too bad through zircon guides can still get good distance my goto is a Daiwa tatula BC on an abu velocity awsome casting with 10 grams, i go between 8lb and 16lb FC 8-12 on sandy flats for lizards they chafe the line so bad depending on where they are pinned, i dont get out much anymore 🙄
Couple more and I’ll have a whole compilation of me losing my shit, had one recently literally get my line in his leccy while I was reeling in a fish, maybe spot locked about 20m ahead of my drift
Nice Vid mate! I also have a tinny and always looking to make it quieter... I ended laying those rubber interlocking tiles down... very cheap from K mart... not only is my boat quieter but is so much nicer having a bit of cushioning under the feet... only downside is if it rains need to lift the carpet to dry otherwise moisture will get trapped there... see you out there mate👋
Alloy is more durable but noisier. Don't glue carpet. Loose carpet with velcro tabs is much better. Also mount your console on separate alloy base so the whole floor can be removed. Mostly important thing to realise is that if your boat swamps the only thing stopping you sinking are the screws holding the floor down.
Mainly just the price and the Garmin is just a better designed unit for salt water use, had so many issues with water getting into the hummingbird and ruining sessions. I saw the Garmin on run out sale and jumped on it a few months ago. So far I’m liking the Garmin maps and downscan, as well as the touch screen, the side scan isn’t quite as good, but I’m sure it’ll grow on me with time.
@joshparry2867 love the lowrance units for down scan and mapping, also really easy networking all your other devices and gauges, they lose me with the sidescan though, it’s easily the worst of the big 3 in my opinion.
They change constantly mate depending on what and where I’m fishing. I find the biggest thing people struggle with is getting their transducer in the right spot though, that is the single best thing you can do to get better imagining.
I would never think snapper will be in this shallow water , well done boys
They get a hell of a lot shallower them that, just think of them as big bream.
Wow what a great session. Certainly better mid week
Boat traffic is a massive factor in shallow water, always do better on weekdays

Right now I’m thinking aluminium floors, subs put some rubber or foam between the ribs to stop any ratting, and then EVA on top
Hey bro what were the two rod and reel combos you were chasing the tuna and Trev's with?
keep up the videos mate good work
Cheers mate

Cheers for the advice mate, I like the sound of velcro on the carpet, might use it, cheers.
@Jackomac I have my carpet attached by velcro on my plate alloy boat. The carpet can be removed and cleaned. Glued down carpet holds moisture.
@@davidlove7825 100%, awesome idea man cheers.
Doesn’t get much better than that! All over em
Bitta fun, wouldn’t mind a half decent snapper though 😂
How do you like the Garmin vs humming bird ? Why the change
