    Dr. Ziad, you have very good patience in explaining how to derive the position of the station x as explained used for resection in theodolite surveying. I am looking for a reliable formula in the form of Microsoft excel formula such that position of x can be found by computing the data in excel cell format during site survey so as to compute the work required on the field there and then.

    What angle should you aim for, for best accuracy when backsighting on 2 know points when carrying out a resection?

    How did get rid of the negative sign on the Quadrant bearing of AB

      Because we used the absolute values of the change in easting and northing when calculating the QB.

    How would you calculate WCB of BX on point B if E and N are both negatives, assuming north is straight up. I know angle B and WCB BA but then require WCB BX. Do you take angle B away from WCB BA to find Theta then take 360 away from theta to give WCB BX?

    • @owenjl8424
      @owenjl8424 2 года назад +1

      For context my angle B= 76’33/59.46// and my WCB of BA= 46’4//36.72

    • @ziadabdeldayem6884
      @ziadabdeldayem6884  2 года назад

      It depends on the position of X relative to line BA. You need to draw line BA and point X, then calculate WCB (BX) from the the drawing.

      @@ziadabdeldayem6884 X is on the left side as both values are negative, A is to the right and B is at the bottom below X and A relatively in between the two

    • @ziadabdeldayem6884
      @ziadabdeldayem6884  2 года назад

      If point X is to the left of line BA, then WCB (BX) = 360 - (B - WCB(BA))

    The Coordinate of the instrument point is (x,y,z), you calculated only (x,y), there are more steps to find (z). Thanks for your effort.

    My doubt is the slope of line AB is rise /run = tan θ. i.e θ=tan -1(N/E). But, In ur case quadrant bearing calculations showing θ=tan -1(E/N). So , which one Is correct sir ?

    • @ziadabdeldayem6884
      @ziadabdeldayem6884  2 года назад

      Hi. We are not calculating the slope here. We are calculating the angle between the meridian and line AB.
