2:46 Gotta agree with Suzy there. The meatball dish did look kind of lame tbh. I dunno what the judges saw in that plating, but if I got served that at a restaurant, I'd be confused to say the least. Then again, Joe did compare it to artwork and I guess not everyone likes the same type of art.
i personally really liked it, it looked cleaner and sleeker compared to the two meatloaves imho

Why are the contestants so negative towards each other? You'd never see that in MasterChef Australia.

Because drama and competition sells, or is believed to sell better in the US. Same way how European/Japanese games make their character angry on the box art (e.g. Kirby) when releasing in the US.

Shepherd pie is with lamb or mutton. Shepherds look after sheep. What he made was Cottage pie
cottage is beef, he used veal. he just used the more well known of the two pies cause there isn't a name for a veal and mash pie
veal is young beef, veal is NOT sheep. so which name do you think is more appropriate? And in regards to naming, I do not expect a random person in the street to know the difference, but someone trying to make cooking their career should know the difference.
