The reason they ship these with the crown out is because they're Bulovas, so naturally a high percentage of their products will languish unsold in warehouses and stockrooms for years. It's common sense and good planning. Maybe having an 'optimistic' retail pricing policy doesn't help.

ALL quartz watches should have the goddamn crown pulled out before sale!! What's the point of buying a watch that has a flat battery!
