Remember travelling up to Daddy Cool’s records in Soho to buy this record on pre release. Cost me a week’s wages. Worth every penny. Thank you John Peel for playing this tune and supporting our music.
I'm a young 68, still strong and full of life (Thank The Lord). I quit smoking weed and cigs both on my 50th birthday......18 yrs. ago. Haven't cheated one whit. But you know....I'd forgotten how much I loved all those crazy little sounds that are in this tune towards the end.....man I loved being high and listening to that stuff in headphones as we'd wait for the sun to come up. Oh boy.....I'm strongly considering lifting the weed ban on myself, and I've got this tune to thank/blame. Hmmm. Ugh ohhh......here we go again! Back with you later. God Bless us all. jbeinarizona
One of my all time favourite groups.Vastly underated and largely overlooked. The dub version embued in me a love for the millitant(also known as steppers by some of my school friend's and others I hung out with in the late 70's)style of dub and a passion for the Revolutionaries that has lasted well over 40yrs.Every penny of my dinner money and pocket money was spent in the record shop around the corner where you were able to buy anything from pre-release 45's to blank label's if you went in and looked every day.I still have them all{over 200)and still play and love them all!The dub version of Jah I by The Jewells is another all time favourite and is also on youtube and worth listening to if you haven't heard it before.
Hi jahharvey, can this dub version be found on any of the 7" releases? I have the SUS1001 press, and the version is more of a straight instrumental. It's this versions I'm really after!

Classic!! This used to get rinsed every Friday at the Nutmeg club, Ealing Broadway, in the later 1970s! Love it, the brilliant Sam Bramwell/Chantells
One of the greatest tracks ever the dub is just mind blowing !
