- SWEENEY TODD school edition The School District of Janesville Summer School 2016 . Directed by Jim Tropp, Music directed by Jan Knutson and Brian Knutson and Choreographed by Michael Stanek.
First rate orchestra and chorus, and some amazingly innovative use of the set. I even like the midcentury production design.
I’m very impressed with the orchestra!!! This show is so difficult to put on and they all did fantastic!
I was thinking it sounded almost too good for high school. They may have used prerecorded tracks to either enhance or even completely replace a live orchestra. And I have no problem with that.
AMAZING!! the acters were great same with music and lights!
Left no crumbs!!! I like how they took their own take on it!!! So original!!! LIKE YESSS
Wow, amazing how School's can pull it off and do pretty well with this terrifying difficult show...... I don't know about reading and writing and arithmetic, but the art of musical drama is dong just fine in education....

Wow! Great job!
Do a production of The Whale. The movie was so good, I was crying very hard by the end.
so perfect!!!! Reminds me of what they have done with Jesus Christ Super Star
Lovely Cleaned up verson if the beggarwoman..
She ought to be vulgar and sexually explicit. "Cleaned up" is a euphemism for "censured".
17:23 personal
How the fuck did a school afford that nice of a set
I like it except for the bowdlerization of the Beggar woman
Me too, but I think they did it for the parents.
❤❤
1:35:05 Woah buddy, take a chill pill
Sweeney todd: the demon barber of Fleet Street full musical
It’s the school edition. Not the full.🥸
38:26
Is the actor playing Toby even trying to do a British accent..?
I’d rather go to watch the set and props that the actual show or just cut my throat
She sings to fast, his hair is just normal looking as he already looks nothing like Todd, just odd in the beginning
What is Todd supposed to look like? Didn’t know there was a rule. I’ve seen so many different Sweeneys: ginger, blonde slick back, bald, curly brown.
@@strawbz2 on Broadway?
@@galacticcollector9752 both broadway and amateur. My favorite was the bald Sweeney in 2005 with Patti Lupone. to my knowledge, didn’t know there was a rule on what they should look like.
@@strawbz2 there’s not a rule just more of what they are tried to go for now a days. If the actor can do a great job then for sure go for it, but sometimes they try to get the looks into it too. Someone that can play the look of dead, depressed and such. Idk I’ve seen too much of one theme I guess
Good grief, they are high school students, and this Sondheim score is incredibly challenging! Give them at least a little credit for doing well.
Once again people don’t know how to sing my friends properly
Let me guess your professional singer huh you can sing like Freddie Mercury since you're a famous singer
@@southernpride2003 talking about how the main creator wanted this song sang. Not his singing. He’s not bad but it’s not the right format.
@@galacticcollector9752wait what about this performance would you say sondheim would correct?
@@bixley well, he wanted the song to be more soft spoken. Like a gentle whisper and stuff
