She is now well known not only in norway. Her song Runaway has over 100million views on youtube. She is what one calls a human in the best possible sense and a real empathy. She is also very introverted, says what she thinks, is very funny, only wants the best for the world and is close to nature. She is a singer, songwriter and producer. She wrote her first songs in Norwegian when she was 6 years old. During this time she also played the piano for the first time. When she was 9 she wrote her songs in English. It was not until she was 15 that her parents discovered her talent. At a school performance she sang her first song of her own. It was secretly filmed and it was put online. A record company noticed her and made her an offer. She refused. She never wanted to become famous or a star. Her mother convinced her to share her music with others. It would be selfish to keep her talent to yourself. The rest is history. Aurora grew up very sheltered and free. She loves solitude and nature. She hated her first 100 concerts because she didn't get along well with so many people who were all watching. But now she loves it. There is a little story to describe how emphatic she is. Aurora thought about death very intensely from a young age. She doesn't celebrate her birthdays because that's another year closer to death. She once had a teddy bear when she was little and became very sad. She was wondering what would happen to the teddy bear once she died. Then he would be all alone in the world. Usually everyone dances to the music. At Aurora you get the impression that the music is dancing with her. She feels what she is singing and it shows in her body language. Introverts use body language whether they like it or not. Aurora's are very intense. You notice that more clearly in other songs where they seem even more uncontrolled. Many people assume that she has an illness. It is not so. It only relieves extreme tension.
The is honestly my new favorite female singer. She is so real, nothing put on.I've been around and listened to every genre of music and this just grabs me like no other.
The best pronunciation of Nidarosdomen from a non-norwegian i ever have heard. The whole concert from Nidarosdomen, a cathedral in Trondheim, is magical. Performing with TrondheimSolistene, Oslo Fagottkor, organist Petra Bjørkhaug, harpist Ruth Potter and her own band. She have many amazing live-sessions, but one favorite for many is It Happened Quiet "-Live at Current". Beautiful harmonies with guitarist Silja Sol. ruclips.net/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/видео.html
Asolutely gorgeous! You should watch the whole concert....a real masterpiece, She is so unique, as the artist she is and exceptional human being. She's been out there since 2'015, and she is still growing,, we have been blessed with her presence
Thank you for your reaction and thoughts. Aurora was, and is, a dancer indeed. So many wonderful Aurora songs to recommend, and I'm sure most have been suggested already, but here goes: It Happened Quiet (at The Current), Infections of a Different Kind (HAIK), 'Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)' at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, Dance on the Moon (live), The River, A Different Kind of Human (Christines radiofestival), and on and on. I very much second the Susanne Sundfør suggestion - Undercover (the live, black and white version) would be amazing to see a reaction to on your channel. She has won the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy five times, and very much influenced the current group of singer-songwriters. And she's only 35...
I've seen her in concert, she is a healer, a shaman, a wizard. I truly recommend the whole HAIK concert, you find it here on youtube. welcome to the magical world of Aurora!
She always completely disappears into her songs and sings with her whole body. All of her songs are story songs - the stories of our lives. And her very recent performances show just how much she is changing, deepening in voice power and inner light. She is very well respected in Norway. I had read that the historic Nidarosdomen is normally NOT used as a music venue. But she was invited to give that Christmas concert to a sold out audience. (She was 21 at that performance). She was very surprised to find, back when she was first starting out as a publicly known singer, that she was enormously popular in Brazil. They made the heart connection in an instant! She has been high on the charts on their popular radio for some years now, while none of her music is played on American pop radio.
You were so close to capturing the essence of Aurora. She grew up in the forest. As a child she would disappear for hours sometimes getting lost. Was taught how to get home using the stars to guide her back. Definitely fairy from the forest of Norway. Spend a little time watching interviews of her. She will capture you. Between her and Angelina my day is normally filled.
How wonderful to see you visiting Aurora. I've always wanted to see her and Angelina Jordan do a duet, even though they live on two different planets. Aurora is a pure natures child, so talking about fairies when you talk about her is absolutely right. She loves bugs and talking about bugs, especially moths. She gives THE most interesting interviews in the business, gotta love her. The Nidarosdomen Cathedral concert is a gem, especially for us that live in Trondheim in Norway.
Love that you found Aurora! She is fenomenal! I just love all your reactions, but Angelina and Aurora are both very spesial to me! You should do Aurora with "It happend quite" live at The Current next! It is just exeptional, haunting and beatiful! I love that you are, more or less, Scandinavian by the way! Regards from 🇧🇻
Aurora and Angelina are 10 years apart in age. Angelina born in 2006 turned 15 on January10th, 2021. Aurora born in 1996 will be 25 on June 15th, 2021. Norway has given us two of the most talented artists. I love them both. Their voices are amazing and they are so humble.
I have loved all your reactions to Angelina Jordan and was so happy to see you had uploaded a reaction to my all time favorite artist Aurora! Can't wait for the next one. Always appreciate your honest and interesting reactions where I learn new things I didn't think of before.
Aurora is wonderful, yet another outstanding performer from Norway. I love the way she expresses herself through her singing and movement. What a wonderful setting in that Cathedral. Angelina and Aurora are doing Norway proud.
That was a treat! She is a true performer with a unique voice! And she has a huge fan base all over the world. I really would like to have your reaction on her singing Murder Song 54321 at the Nobel peace price concert 2015. That is one more expressive performance and it gives you the chills! Aurora and Angelina are both Norwegians, but playing in different ballparks. By the way - Aurora does covers but mostly her own songs.
@@VocalSplendorStudios hello Valerie, alas you have discovered Aurora. She has a way of hypnotizing her listeners, I know she does it for me. She has done some covers but she has written some of the most beautiful lyrics I have ever heard. You should really check out her performances at the Nobel peace price concert. There she sang 3 songs MURDER SONG 54321, RUNAWAY (which she wrote at 11) and HALF THE WORLD AWAY. Please check them out, you won't be disappointed. Angelina and Aurora, my 2 favorite singers from Norway. 💖💖💖💖
Thanks for doing this reaction! I could see in your face that she got to you, and I'm so glad. Hope you will enjoy listening and maybe react to more of Auroras songs, but please don't forget Angelina :-D
As usual, your comments are so insightful. Very interesting to hear your view on Aurora, who we love so much for her artistry. Her lyrics, melodic capability and storytelling on stage is far beyond imagination and far beyond her age. She was 21 here. She is absolutely gorgeous live, and right now "Runaway" is trending on Spotify. Watch her doing this at the 2015 Nobel Peace Price Concert. Thx for this very outstanding reaction.
Thank you thank you thank you for finally doing an Aurora reaction! I love your reactions, and i love Aurora. Hoping for «murder song» at the nobel peace prize concert next.
Hi Valérie, Aurora has already a lot of incredible own songs (at the age of 26 years!). Runaway, Running with the Wolves, The Seed, Queendom or Murder Song are some examples. But I suggest you to also have an ear to Susanne Sundfor (Undercover, Delirious, The Brothel, When the Lord,...) and Eivor (Gullspin, Falling Free, Salt,...).
Thank you so much for reacting to Aurora, Valerie. You are one of the reactors really worth following, and I have waited so long for you to discover our incredible Aurora. She moves me in a way I just cant explain. I have just come to the conclusion that she is an angel. Thank you for your incredible wisdom, Valerie. Stay safe 👍
Aurora wrote the music to escape to utopia one of hua chenyu's songs, it was originally called sillouettes and he bought it off her and changed the lyrics.
❤️ I’m so glad to see someone else reacting to Aurora! She has a way of expressing pure emotion for those truly there to listen. I hope to see more Aurora! Thank you for the reaction! ❤️
Great reaction! I subscribed after hearing AURORA and your commentary. Her unique and soothing voice puts me into a trance-like state and produces alpha waves in my mind. She is a mesmerizing storyteller, takes the listener on a journey, and already has quite a repertoire for someone who is currently just 24. She composes her own music (has done so since age 6, and poetry and lyrics in English beginning at age 9). I recommend other songs from the Nidaros concert, as well as various live performances: HAIK 2019 (in a forest); KEXP in Iceland (2018) with Bjork in the audience); AURORA Live at the Current, and others you will see in the comments. She has quite a following, not just in Scandinavia, but in a number of countries, (Brazil, Japan and the UK come to mind). She has three albums out, and plans to release another this year.
Aurora just dont sing a song. She is also telling a story. This go thru all of her performances. A true jewel to be sure. Welcome to Warriors and Weirdos miss.
She is not only a great singer and talented artist. She has a unique personality as well, with a vivid imagination and clear views on the world around her and the world as a whole. I highly recommend watching the two short documentaries "Into the light" and "Nothing is eternal" and the one long documentary "Once Aurora" about her. "Into the light" (2015): ruclips.net/video/3AbrDWIwBO4/видео.html "Nothing is eternal" (2016): ruclips.net/video/4vdBorK67tk/видео.html "Once Aurora" (2018): vimeo.com/ondemand/onceaurora
Nice reaction! My two recommendations to start out are highly emotional performances: Murder Song live at Nobel Peace Prize and Lucky live at Nidarosdomen
Wow. Thanks for a great reaction to Aurora. You know, I'm ALMOST jealous of you, that this is your first time hearing her. Myself, I've been aware of her since she was 14 (she's 24 now btw, turning 25 in two months) and just can't get enough of her. All those things that you commented on are really quintessential to her, both as an artist and as a person. In many ways, she and Angelina share SO many traits. And what you say about us scandinavians are also very true. Way cool to hear about your ancestry, too. I don't think I have commented to you before, but I have been a subscriber for quite some time, and I'm loving your insight/knowledge. And we share opinion on the topic of Simon you-know-who. Lol If you want to listen to more from her, that whole concert from the Nidarosdomen Cathedral is a perfect start. Also her live concert at KEXP in Iceland is great, where you can see another, more lively version of her as well. Her way of dancing is off the charts imo. But in short, you won't finf anything about her that isn't totally captivating and I dare say hypnotic. Anyway, thanks again for your reaction(s) and have a great weekend. Kind regards from a rapidly thawing Norway.
There are others of us who see a comparison between Hua Hua and Aurora. Not only the hand movements but something soulful. I'm putting it out to the universe to have Hua Hua and Aurora sing this song together as well as his song Giant Deer, which reminds me very much of this song. I really love Aurora's The Seed Music Video. Very much the direction Hua Hua has been taking as far as the environment as well. Crystal children.
Thank you for this! I agree. As an American, I have been quite disappointed with many of the "popular" singers propped up my the music industry. It's been a breath of fresh air discovering these crystal children: Hua, Aurora, Angelina Jordan, Diana Ankudinova, Dimash Kudiabergen. It's given me hope. I'm really looking forward to reacting to more of Aurora!
@@VocalSplendorStudios "Aurora - Black Water Lilies (Live on the Honda Stage)" is also great to watch, especially because of the high note she reaches at the end of the song: ruclips.net/video/otRKDDguvyg/видео.html
Listening to your other comments, you talking about some group you are a part of ,creative soul inlinement, made me think of Aurora every time. You should bring her in
Wonderful reaction! Aurora is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being (and she’s just 24 years old!). She will often perform her songs quite differently - sometimes with her band, other times stripped down to just her and one instrument, a cappella, with full orchestra, etc. - so it is definitely worth listening to different versions of the same song. Also, some of her videos are mini-masterpieces as well. A short list of original songs: Runaway - Nobel Peace Prize concert and her music video Through the Eyes of a Child - Nidarosdomen concert, my recommendation Live Stripped - VIVO UK Lift: ruclips.net/video/CFzExUN1N8I/видео.html It Happened Quiet - Nidarosdomen concert, but I'd recommend the live at The Current version as well: ruclips.net/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/видео.html Churchyard - Live on KEXP Winter Bird - Nidarosdomen concert and her music video Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Nobel Peace Prize Concert Lucky - Nidarosdomen concert Little Boy in the Grass - Nidarosdomen concert The Seed - Music Video, HAIK Concert The River - Music video, Live in Bergen 2020 Exist For Love - Music video, Daydreamer - Music video She also does some awesome covers: Life on Mars - David Bowie Believer - Imagine Dragons God is a Woman - Ariana Grande Across the Universe - John Lennon Teardrop - Massive Attack
She is not a child, but 22 years here! And today she is in top 20 Spotify Global today. AURORA, is a Norwegian singer and songwriter.(From the same country as Angelina Jordan). Among artists and in the music industry the Norwegian singer AURORA is synonymous with quality, and she can fill a record with masterpieces time and time again. Many others are glad they manage one hit. Billie Eilish said in an interview that it was AURORA that made her become an artist and were inspired after listen to Aurora. She is a true genius artist who does not make plastic / bikini music, but is true to real creative art.
Yes, physicality is a hallmark of Aurora's performances but she is an excellent dancer with some training (see Apple Tree video) and Conqueror on Jimmy Fallon. Many mistake her gestures to be something random, but they are intentional either directing her band, or matching movement to lyrics (running, for example).
She is like that in everything she does. It's a singularity. Try Lucky from the same concert, or the Vivo version of The Seed. Another good one is Murder Song from the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She always performs live in new ways that are totally professional. Even covers are done uniquely, such as God is a Woman at a radio station.
Great reaction! Aurora is a master of pulling you in, and transporting you to another place with her songs and performances. Aurora has inspired alot af people, Katy Perry, Doja cat, and Amy Lee have all spoken highly of Aurora. And Billie Eilish has credited Auroras music video- Runaway, as the thing that inspired her to pursue a music career of her own. I recomend you react to Auroras song- It happened quiet (live at the current) next. 😊
Hehe.. yeah, its true.. We dont like to stand out.. We follow the "jante-lov" ;) But yeah she goes to another place when she sings, and people like me cry everytime.. She is 25/26 now, signed at 16. She started to write, and make music when she was nine 9 yrs old. Crazy.. :P
At Nidarosdomen (aged 21) Aurora was a vision from a Botticelli masterpiece and modestly confident. Go back to 2015 to the Nobel Peace Prize concert, where she was a shy 19 (she was so nervous at the press conference she took a pine cone with her for company and to keep her grounded) and watch "Runaway" which she wrote when she was just 11 (ruclips.net/video/Fc7XWW_Ehb8t/видео.html). Then move forward to the HAIK concert 2019 (filmed in the forest where Aurora played during her childhood) and you will see the forest spirit that you mentioned and a very confident performer enjoying herself and dancing with "Daydreamer" ( ruclips.net/video/XH-Pd8hYSoA/видео.html). Finally, look at some of her interview clips (ruclips.net/video/exskKp5j2-c/видео.html) and recent podcasts to see what an amazing, very individualistic personality Aurora is. All of these will enchant you as much as this first contact with her. Enjoy discovering the many faceted Aurora.
Thanks for a great reaction to our second Norwegian gem, Aurora! She's just a wonder. Composer, singer, producer, dancer, environmentalist. Wrote her first song at the age of 9. Fun fact, her song 'Runaway', that she wrote at the age of 11, and were released in 2015, now is a global hit, 6 years after it was released. You can't really go wrong with any of her songs (or the covers she has done), but her live performances are always fantastic. I would recommend 'Murder song' from the Nobel Peace Price concert (she was 19) or 'It happened quit' from The current. Both songs just her and another on guitar (and backup vocals). She has a huge fanbase worldwide, maybe not so known in the US, but that might change now.
Aurora, Susanne, and Angelina, incredible Scandinavian vocalists. And there are more Valhalla talents, I deeply apologize not mentioning them now 🇦🇽 🇩🇰 🇫🇮 🇸🇪 🇫🇴 🇳🇴 🇮🇪 🏴 ....
Aurora is an amazing performer.. She can sing like an angel and rock you at the same time.. Check her KEXP and HAIK concert a different Aurora will surprise you 😊😊🤘🔥
Thank you so much for making my day!!! 🥰🥰 This song and performance is the most beautiful I have ever heard 🙂❤️ Please react to her "Walking in the Air", "Winterbird" or "Lucky" from the same concert 🙏🙏
If you would like to experience another amazing young talent, may I suggest you listen to Lucy Thomas singing her cover of the Eva Cassidy version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”. I love Aurora, Angelina, and Diana Ankudinova, but Lucy has a voice that is just beautiful. I promise you won’t regret experiencing her incredible voice.
Murdersong at the nobel peace consert. If you are interested in Norwegian music You must react to Jarle Bernhoft. Fly away live at lydverket is a god start. He is a fantastic artist and have been touring in the U.S. At some point he was nominated for the Grammy. Love from Norway.❤
Aurora will be 25 in June, although she remains child-like. She sure taps into that awe and wonder, but she also projects ancient spirituality and wisdom. Have you reacted to her performance of “Runaway”? She's absolutely physically spent after that one.
The Connecticut of the show HAIK is to follow the artist a Day to know them better, and in the end have a show with some fans. They did the same with some other famus Norwegians singers to. Chuck out Haik documentary with Astrid S, High as a kite and more.
She uses an ancient Nordic singing technique called "Kulning" or shepherd calls. Because of its sounds it is music to enchant, to enter a trance. It was widely used by women, due to its high tone, to bring back their own cattle due to the particularity of the song. Swedish artist and youtuber Jonna Jinton works to get it back. Perhaps this may be the result of your work. If they wish, they can see their work on their own RUclips channel or ruclips.net/video/KvtT3UyhibQ/видео.html

Of all the versions of that song available, that's my favorite. I second this recommendation.
Little Boy In The Grass (Mahogany Sessions) is her and a guitarist/backing vocal in a canoe 😁 Looks like very early in her career. Great performance as always.
I third this recommendation of It Happened Quiet live at the Current... her vocal skill has improved much in this performance.

The singer that you comment here 1:23 is actually an AURORA fan! He asked her to write a song for him.
You should watch the whole concert....a real masterpiece,
She is so unique, as the artist she is and exceptional human being.
You should watch the whole Nidarosdomen concert! It’s absolutely magic! She was the voice inn Frosen 2! Great reaction! Hope you react more to Aurora!
Aurora has such variety, both in her songs but also in her arrangements of individual performances. Always different, always so good.
That is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. She just melts your heart.
Aurora Starchild
another masterpiece. i think what makes her so unique is her being so genuin and real. not much plastic about her.
She gets me teary eyed every time!
Aurora is a gift for us all ❤️ she is so genuine in her music and it goes right to your soul.
Aurora is a phenomenal songwriter and performer. Her songs are so focused and emotional. She is n introvert at heart... but in so much demand.
Between her and Angelina my day is normally filled.
she was once asked in an interview what her dream world would look like and she said Rivendell from lord of the rings her favorite movie lol
Regards from 🇧🇻
Thank you so much!!
And it's more Scandinavian for sure! Ancestry.com says 50% Swedish, 19% Norwegian, 6% Finnish and the rest a mix of British Isles & Western Europe.
@@VocalSplendorStudios Such a wonderful mix of genes, and thats no sarcasm.
Thank you for this background. I found her performance beautiful and quite compelling.
Half the world away is a beautiful Oasis cover😊
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Pastor Murray is an Anointed Servant of GOD who teaches the Word of GOD with Authority!!!!!!!
Aurora is a great songwriter 💙
Infections of a different kind-Haik concert
Next «Lucky» from same concert at Nidarosdomen🤗
She is 24....Aurora Aksnes (born 15 June 1996)
Hello, you should listen 'God is a woman' cover, 'believer' cover, and 'under the water' . All of her songs are beautiful just like this one.
I have watched several of performances and the thought I had this time is that she makes love to these songs.
Very good analysis! This entire concert, brilliant! Amazing you are able to compose yourself during this tremendous performance! Thanks!
Stay safe 👍
Thank you for your reaction and thoughts on our wonderful Aurora. I hope you will continue by reacting to some more of her music.
Goosebumps everytime i listen to this , she is great !!!! There are do manny good songs and so touching. "Quiet " at the current is also sooo good 😊❤
Aurora just dont sing a song. She is also telling a story. This go thru all of her performances. A true jewel to be sure. Welcome to Warriors and Weirdos miss.
Mother nature incarnate
She is not only a great singer and talented artist. She has a unique personality as well, with a vivid imagination and clear views on the world around her and the world as a whole.
I highly recommend watching the two short documentaries "Into the light" and "Nothing is eternal" and the one long documentary "Once Aurora" about her.
"Into the light" (2015): ruclips.net/video/3AbrDWIwBO4/видео.html
"Nothing is eternal" (2016): ruclips.net/video/4vdBorK67tk/видео.html
"Once Aurora" (2018): vimeo.com/ondemand/onceaurora
Nice reaction! My two recommendations to start out are highly emotional performances: Murder Song live at Nobel Peace Prize and Lucky live at Nidarosdomen
AuRoRa can combine the two well. hot and cool, not a problem. so glad you finally got
to her. thx!!
Great Aurora reaction! She is a godess! And noe you have to listen and reacr to her absolute best music video "the seed"! You will love it
There are others of us who see a comparison between Hua Hua and Aurora.
Both live!
A short list of original songs:
Runaway - Nobel Peace Prize concert and her music video
Through the Eyes of a Child - Nidarosdomen concert, my recommendation Live Stripped - VIVO UK Lift: ruclips.net/video/CFzExUN1N8I/видео.html
It Happened Quiet - Nidarosdomen concert, but I'd recommend the live at The Current version as well: ruclips.net/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/видео.html
Churchyard - Live on KEXP
Winter Bird - Nidarosdomen concert and her music video
Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Nobel Peace Prize Concert
Lucky - Nidarosdomen concert
Little Boy in the Grass - Nidarosdomen concert
The Seed - Music Video, HAIK Concert
The River - Music video, Live in Bergen 2020
Exist For Love - Music video,
Daydreamer - Music video
She also does some awesome covers:
Life on Mars - David Bowie
Believer - Imagine Dragons
God is a Woman - Ariana Grande
Across the Universe - John Lennon
Teardrop - Massive Attack
Wow.
More Aurora please, Now you know her :)
reaction a existe for loveeeeee
Hehe.. yeah, its true.. We dont like to stand out.. We follow the "jante-lov" ;) But yeah she goes to another place when she sings, and people like me cry everytime.. She is 25/26 now, signed at 16. She started to write, and make music when she was nine 9 yrs old. Crazy.. :P
Amazing!
Prachtig!
She has a huge fanbase worldwide, maybe not so known in the US, but that might change now.
...and I forgot to mention, she always writes lyrics with a deep and profound meaning, no 'Ooooh baby'. You could check out 'The seed' as an example.
You will love her cover of "God is a woman" and her own song " Animal"!
Good reaction....🇸🇪
Do, It happened quiet.....(Nidaros dome)
Aurora, Susanne, and Angelina, incredible Scandinavian vocalists. And there are more Valhalla talents, I deeply apologize not mentioning them now 🇦🇽 🇩🇰 🇫🇮 🇸🇪 🇫🇴 🇳🇴 🇮🇪 🏴 ....
Eivør Palsdottir would suit nicely:)
Ane Brun (The Last Breath). She is Auroras inspiration.
If you are interested in Norwegian music
You must react to Jarle Bernhoft.
You WILL love her ,try Murdersong live that so many others said.
What was that surprise (for her) concert again? In the woods. It was beautiful.
The Connecticut of the show HAIK is to follow the artist a Day to know them better, and in the end have a show with some fans. They did the same with some other famus Norwegians singers to. Chuck out Haik documentary with Astrid S, High as a kite and more.
In the forrest, she did not know about the man choir Who joined her in The seed.
Please react to It Happened Quiet, Live at the Current. It is a song you will love! 😊
She's the siren from Frozen 2. o need to react to the whole Nidarosdomen concert.
Aurora said once that she was inspired by Kate Bush.
Excellent, please react to Aurora Soulless Creatures live in Bergen it is with a orchestra too or Infections of a different kind live at Haik
She was a dancer! She did jazz dance from age 9 to 16
Aurora is not 26. She is 24 and will be 25 in June ☺️🥰🇳🇴
