I’ve watched many reactions of this ‘album ‘ and you are no doubt the best reactors of it. Your interpretation made me realize the beauty and elegance of IU’s poetic quality as an artist .She is a true legend.
After pandemic hits nothing good has happened into my life, then last October of 2021, I watched "My Mister" My heart was touched by that drama, then I started looking out who the actress was, found out about IU, now she gave me reason not to quit in life. I watched the Golden Disc Awards live even I could not understand anything, I patiently waited for her to come out and perform, and from that point I have a deep feeling she will be winning the Daesang award and boy I was not wrong, she really deserves it. I hope she continues what she love, I wish good health and I pray that someday, someone will love her more than she loves herself. she is indeed our QUEEN, our CELEBRITY.

The lyric in Winter Sleep "I usually keep it together pretty well/ But sometimes I just miss you so much" is literally me today. I'm really keenly feeling the absence of my cousin who passed away almost two years ago now, and I'm not sure why I decided today was the day I listened to the review that you TOLD me was gonna be sad!!! AAAA!!! Loss is so difficult to endure, but I really respect and appreciate how IU managed to express it so vividly and poetically. Saving a piece of each season to give to someone when they wake up.. That's the way you buy things or take pictures or make memories because they're things you would want to share with your loved one because sometimes it's easy to think that your loved one is simply off on a trip or taking a long rest and they will eventually return. My cousin collected decks of playing cards and now I still pick up unique decks when I see them because I instinctively want to give them to her. I didn't read any of the lyric translations when the album came out because I was determined to wait for your video, but now I feel like I just got whapped in the head because I was not adequately prepared for this intensity of feelings, haha. Thank you so much for taking the time to really sit down and help people like me understand just how beautiful the lyrics are, because it makes all the difference in the world. Love you dearly

Actually.. all the songs from this album melted my heart, especially Winter Sleep. That deep meaning behind its lyrics caught me off guard the first time I heard it.
I just casually listen to her title releases since then and I am not a super fan. But when I came across "Next Stop" I immediately checked the whole album and her previous albums 😭💖 Next Stop is my favorite, its really calm sounding and I felt crying when I read the lyrics. Thank you for the analysis, it made me appreciate the songs more ☺️

I recently became a fan of IU and I'm still trying to learn and discover the meaning behind her songs. 😊 Thank you for sharing this as it made me appreciate even more how she captured beautifully one's experience and emotion when someone just had a loss of a loved one or misses someone. When we experience loss, we can't seem to find a way to comfort ourselves and fill that void in our hearts. And I think, IU capturing that longingness in this album is just comforting and it brings peace in our hearts. ❤️

It´s 2 AM here in my country and I am just real crying with your interpretation of winter sleep. I don´t know why I hadn´t catch the meaning before, probably because I saw some bad translations of the lyrics, but wow, the lyrics were already beautifully sad, but now given this new perspective they are even more sad and yet, that also makes them more beautiful. I though there was no way that I could admire IU more, but she really keeps making ways to make me proud of her

Just for the peeps here, "Next Stop" (literal Korean translation: "The Station") writren & composed during filming "My Mister" reflecting to "Lee Jian"(which she portrayed in 2018) This drama became the reason to know & discover the wonders of IU. In the song description, She said "Between Jieun and Jian is a ‘station’. The two are connected by the distance of a station." You can watch "My Mister" on Netflix, it's a critically acclaimed drama. And IU got nominated as "Best Actress" at Baeksang Arts Award in the said year

First of all, thank you for this review/commentary. One of the best i've seen so far. Among the many reasons why I am a fan of IU, the main one is because of the brilliance of her lyrics - the way she thinks and how she puts that into words. I neither speak nor understand Korean so I rely on the various translations and explanations out there to get what she's trying to say in her songs. Since her lyrics are most of the time very poetic, somehow the meaning is lost when inaccurately translated. But the translation and supplementary info you share makes me appreciate her songs and lyrics so much more. I am new to your channel so forgive me if this suggestion is unnecessary. But I wish you would take us through the song chronologically rather than just picking parts and phrases randomly, so we could really appreciate the message and the story as it progresses in the song. But nonetheless, that was a really good review and I'm looking forward to more videos like this.
