Edit, 2023: Feels oddly poetic to continue where I left off half a decade ago. Today was the first time listening to this after many years. The tears came without a fail. Now that I'm actually in a committed relationship and starting to understand what love might be, it truly hurts to hear the pain and loss in these lyrics and imagine it happening to me and my partner. The nostalgia hurts too; occasionally I miss my younger and naive self who once thought Twilight is the pinnacle of romance and love. But love always evolves, that's what I've had the chance to see as I've grown up. I think this can count as an edgy little farewell to the child I once was, and as a welcome to the person I will grow up to be.
