With 9+ years of 21st century digging and technology cannot find any treasure that was buried there 150+ years ago. Every episode is just 'inconclusive'.
I’m of the Templar theory. I love the story. The brothers are doing a great job. The Bacon thing is also intriguing. Anyway something happened and I’d love to know how it all ends. I’m 68 and my father was from upstate New York and this has been a story I’ve heard my whole life. Lots of stories around the world but this one looks near done. I feel “in on it”. Hope to know the truth before long.☺️
As a person and scientist that is read about this mystery for years and has watched the show avidly since it's beginning I don't think it's as simple as one theory. There has been other artifacts discovered on the island the date back as far as the 15th and 14th century. Frankly, I believe there are several mysteries at hand and not just one single event. In fact, when you take into totality all of the evidence and artifacts that have been uncovered that have been carbon dated from so many different time periods I think it is logical to conclude this outcome.
The vikings were in the area for a couple hundred years from 1000 AD onward with Leif Erikson`s generation and had ties to Scotland and Christianity by the end of the viking age. They had established at least 6 different locations in Vineland according to the Saga`s and the Oak trees from which the island took it`s namesake was the same tree that the vikings built their longships out of(white canopy oak,not native to the area.).There was also cork oak stumpage found in the swamp. This oak only grows in portugal and is used extensively in shipbuilding.I think the swamp was an ancient drydock that used ram pumps(Heron`s fountain principal on a much larger scale) to drain from the eye of the swamp to the pit and out the drain fingers which also work as flood tunnels. That being said, there is room for many others to have used the island, mainly for shipwork, but also to hide things for various reasons by various people at different times.Swamp is ideal to hide something large quickly and I would not be surprised if it was Kidd`s ship that was thought to have been found in the Caribbean, but possibly misidentified due to circumstantial evidence of cannon and anchor pieces only, which can also be accounted for as a tribute "gift" to a rival pirate who had robbed Kidd of his crew in a previous dispute.
@@Karlosangeles1 in fact, all excellent points. It has been my feeling for quite some time that the island is host to many different mysteries. Although, I will not be specific until such a Time that more empirical evidence has been collected. Frankly, I think it is a little early in the investigation to make the claim that there is actually a ship buried in the swamp. In addition, I really do not care to speculate that even if there is a ship buried there that it is the famed Adventur Galley. Especially, since this ships wreckage has already been identified to my personal satisfaction elsewhere. Once the entire area has been completely excavated I'm sure all of us will have definite answers.
@@dr.fitprofessor1970 Adventure Galley was scuttled in Madagascar, but Adventure Prize was the ship he was in trouble over, which he switched for a different ship to turn himself in since it was clearly identifiable and still half full of cargo,a bit of a heat score you could say.A wreck found this century in the Caribbean was thought to be his missing ship, identity based on some cannons and pieces of anchor. There is a written account, however,of anchors and guns being gifted to another pirate, which would make the identification of that wreck questionable,or at least casts some doubt to that wreck actually being the Prize and not some other ship, possibly done to throw off investigators to it`s actual whereabouts.
@@Karlosangeles1 thank you once again for your response. I am also aware of the adventure prize. In addition, you make an excellent point about the cannons and other munitions. However, I am confident that the identification of the anchor fragments and feel that the identity of the ship has been properly verified. I cannot really base an opinion about the cannons and munitions based solely on hearsay. In fact, I would need far more tangible evidence and that may never come. I think the only way to really figure out this mystery on oak Island is to stay the course and see how excavations turn out.
@@dr.fitprofessor1970 The mystery of Oak Island is how did two separate non native Oak tree species once grow on the island and nowhere else while there are no native oaks growing in that region? One type only grows in Portugal(cork Oak stump found in swamp)and the other used traditionally by vikings(in particular) to build longships(the keel would be hewn from a single tree for strength and flexibility)and from which Oak Island was named after said trees now long gone.
The Oak Island Mystery never really got big play while I was growing up in Nova Scotia. I am sure had there been anything to it, or anything there, it would have been long found by now. Remember too, that Nova Scotia was settled by the French long before the British, and most of the French history is either ignored or lost. Nova Scotia, is down-east of North America. That is to say that the main travel routes from North America to Europe had to pass by Nova Scotia due to the prevailing winds that blew to the North East. Nova Scotia became a popular location for wooden ship repair and building, thus the south eastern side of the province is doted with older historical locations where this occurred, along with the industry and population. When I was growing up on the south shore there were many mysterious stone walls and foundations that had no historical record. St. Margaret's Bay, where Oak Island is located, was a perfect shelter for wooden sea going ships to be repaired and built, not to mention a great place for fishing fleets and supporting infrastructure. The forest also provided material for this activity. Treasure on Oak Island? Maybe, but not likely. I suspect that Oak Island shows no more or less historical activity in it's archeology than many other locations along the Atlantic Coast.
Over 200 years of messing up that tiny island looking for treasure that has never been "proven" to be found by anyone, current operations using all the latest and greatest science and technology have found nothing, some old wood, some old tools, a couple of pieces of bones and some ancient indian pottery that has all but shut down exploration on the island pretty much proves all that digging and noise has been for naught.
If a digger in the 60's dug a 100 foot wide, 120 foot deep hole in what was supposed to be the money pit, apparently found nothing and then presumably filled the pit back in, then what is the point of drilling exploratory holes in the very same location? Confusing. And, how are they now encountering tunnels in that same area, if it was all dug up and recovered previously?
I agree. The Templars had vast wealth and possession of priceless artifacts from the Holy Land. And the Templars had the engineering expertise to create the flood tunnels and false tunnels and other diversions found thus far. They also had a dedicated force to do the labor to create these. I also believe that the Masons possess the records from the Templars. These, however, have been kept so long and so deep in the Masons' "vaults of secrecy" that no one knows exactly what they are or where they are hidden. Roosevelt could have "gotten wind" of these, thus his activity on Oak Island.
There should be a "Talk Like The Narrator of Oak Island" day..."Is that a carrot? Can it be it came from the store?" Could be a fun day. Or irritating.
My theory is that this is just a ruse. The story is true for historical fact... Jus not for the treasure. The only people making money into this are the Luginas and History channel.

I think it's there but its buried very deep, good ground penetrating radar....and depending on this cave collapse the treasure could gave sunk much much deeper like into a "sink hole"...
Okay pay attention. Oak island was an ancient blue clay mine that hundreds of years later pirates found. Any treasure buried there was found by Mr ball and nothing else remains. Any so-called treasure on that island is long removed... Can you dig it?
Can someone tell me if I'm totally misremembering something... I swear a year or so ago I read that an extensive scan of the island had confirmed that there were no man-made subterranean booby traps, no pits or shafts that were dug by anyone other than the treasure-seekers themselves - and no buried treasure. Just a few coins and other odds and ends that would be expected to accumulate in any area that size over the years, a lot of stories, and a lot of heartbroken would-be treasure seekers. Am I totally misremembering this?
Regarding the latest drill holes sunk in an attempt to locate shaft 9 and the Chappel vault, is there a reason that they don't lower a camera into the holes to see if they can spot the tunnel leading to the money vault? Or is there a pipe in place in each hole that would prevent this?
I have been interested in this supposed treasure since I was 10 years old when I read a book about oak island at my local library. Ive watched every season and episode even though more than 5 times I had quit and agravatedly decided that the only thing that is there is dirt, rocks, nstuff
William Phips. The spells out the sort of treasure hunting fuckery that would explain the layers of seemingly disjoined and unrelated architecture. This includes the money pit itself which I will call a FOMO trap, fear of missing out. The 90ft stone literally tells people to keep going to get rich and when they do, the system floods. Imagine a tube of water and at one end there is a cork. When the cork is removed, the water rushes in to achieve level with its source which in this case is the ocean. that's what the money pit is, a series of pressure seals that when removed to a certain depth allow water to flood the system. Now the entire subterranean mass of the east side is waterlogged and cannot support excavation. An actual cache of wealth would not be so precariously positioned. I would deduce the entire east side of the island is a misdirection replete with star maps and secret society clues to convince hunters they're on target. If any treasure exist at all, it's somewhere else IMO. Love the show.
So has anyone ever used a submarine and ground penetrating radar to see if there is anything down there? Or is the main shaft to far inland for that to work?
Personally, I don't truly beleve there's any treasure of much consequence left on the island, I beleve it was there but has since been removed! I think the white sands treasure is at least part of what was on oak island! And the white sands treasure has been removed, it disappeared in the back of some militarily trucks never to be seen again! If the masons were involved in both treasures, they wouldn't allow anyone to find it, and who else could make it all disappear!
Can you imagine the effort/engineering it would take to build these “flood tunnels”during this time period? I highly doubt the flood tunnel thing. Let’s say it’s true- so you bury a treasure deep, booby trap it but leave a pulley in a tree above a shallow depression, showing everyone where the treasure is? Doesn’t make any sense.
None of those, the Templer fleet just vanished for the most part when the French crackdown happened, thanks to the Vikings knowledge of the New World was known, they had the engineering knowledge to create the pit and the extraordinary water booby traps.
Where did the curse, 7 must die, come from?! The guys that found the spot in 1795 found a tablet with strange markings. Too date the show says no one has decifered it and now lost forever! So where did that supposed curse come from!
They keep saying they found a tunnel they got to get some people down in the ground just drilling all these holes are making it more unsafe they got to get under the ground in the tunnels
There's no reason why someone would go through months of digging a hole so far down just to bury treasure. You would have to kill the entire crew that dug the hole just to keep it secret. They know the Ark of the Covenant was last stored in Ireland. From there it's like it disappeared off the face of the earth. It would only make logical sense that the Ark of the Covenant containing the ten commandments was buried at the bottom of this hole. Even the inscribed stone slab gives a clue to what is down there. I highly doubt "2 million pounds" is referring to how much treasure. I think "2 million pounds" is an exaggerated way to get people's attention. If solid gold the Ark of the Covenant plus the inscribed stone tablet must have felt like it weighed 2 million pounds.
The only treasure the LAGINAS are after is the CASH COW flow from History Channel episodes and advertisers that has continued for nearly 12 years. There is no vast treasure worth hundreds of millions of dollars on OAK ISLAND left to be discovered.
The Lagina's were already wealthy when they started their quest, and have expended much capital over the years. Not sure how much the corporate sponsors are kicking in, though.
Love the content you have on here most of the time, a reduction in those "cyrptid" hunts that turn up nothing and the useless old ufo material would be nice, there's more than enough current real life experiences going on daily to fill this channel with an endless supply of stuff to keep it interesting. Maybe explore where cities and states have been putting all those bodies of the dead from the current pandemic caused by the Covid 19 virus, there are islands close off shore that have been blocked to boaters and explorers by the US Government and drone footage of large scale burials going on on those islands, two off the east coast and at least the same number off the northwest coast. Ask about them and you get shut down as fast as you can ask.
I have always loved stories of finding hidden treasure and have followed this show long enough, unfortunately I dont think there is any treasure there to be found at all BUT I would love to be proven wrong. I just think it has turned into a wild goose chase that the History channel is milking all it can. Time will tell.
Hall we us our BRAINS now, timeline O Bc to 100 AD just indians at oak island,Vikings arrive 1100 AD, 1300 AD Vikings and Templars start construction on oak Island,1492 AD Columbus discovers the new world, 1500's AD French encampent of oak Island, 1619 Plymount rock settelment, 1700's AD English encampent of oak island and captain Anderson[PRIVATER]!! So the two actors were the Vikings and Templars,Now I put it to you what kind of valuables would you transport if your guide was the "HELLS ANGLES"!!
The longer this show goes on the more pseudo scientific jargon creeps in. Incidentally, I could have bought any number of " Templar Crosses " at the head shop on St. Mark's Place back in the day.
I could see the British at that time were the greediest nation on the planet and a few other nations coming a close 2nd I could see them making all the traps to stop others from retreating the treasure. But if there is treasure there I believe one day the technology will exist to retreating it. But I hope Marty and Rick find it.
All wrong. The Vikings plundered much of Europe and clearly were in the new world. This explains the wierd variety of finds. Yes. The Britsh and French were there. They fought over Canada.
The metal detector guy annoys me. I'm sure that the 'finds' are staged. He NEVER runs the detector over the hole a 2nd time after the 'artifact' has been found (to see if there is something else there).
Seems they have to come up with new theories to keep people watching because this is just so ridiculous. I'm pretty sure everything found so far has been planted. Except for the wood they dig up. Spending millions to find a treasure that was never there. This show should be listed as a comedy.
We have the cocos island we're it is supposed to be a treasure and for many years people has been lookin for iit finding nothing as seems in oak island the pirates leave they wron'g clues they leave it in another place
The treasure or money is in selling commercials during the broadcast. Real treasure, I doubt we will ever see it. Loosing interest myself. How about you?
Yes, I agree about the show. Remember a few years back when they were going to quit at the end of a season? I'm sure the biggest reason they are still sticking it out is because of commercial sponsorship for the show via the History Channel. Which means there is still money to be made by viewership. Which is why it will continually be dragged out. Although, I personally hope one day they find some historical treasure.

I doubt the families would allow that to happen to their loved ones.
all this theories go no wear .but it dose make for a real good story
Why is this show even on????? They dragged us in years ago but we saw the ruse and split. Nothing but BS.
Thanks for watching!
If you've seen season one, you've seen them all. What a waste of air time.

Wonder if the narator has by now developed a permanent habit of ending every statement with a questioning inflection? Could it be... :-)
Thanks for watching!
Is this some tawdry advert for a failed tv show? Every mention includes a reference to some tv show. You lost me before 90 seconds. byeeee

Wow, let's go for treasure...l0l
Talk about snooze fest.
Thanks for watching!
Seems they have to come up with new theories to keep people watching because this is just so ridiculous. I'm pretty sure everything found so far has been planted. Except for the wood they dig up. Spending millions to find a treasure that was never there. This show should be listed as a comedy.
Thanks for watching!
@@FactsVerse LOL. I didn't watch. It was recommended and I left a comment. Hope that helps you out. But I can't watch this train wreck.

Thanks for watching!
The treasure or money is in selling commercials during the broadcast. Real treasure, I doubt we will ever see it. Loosing interest myself. How about you?
Fake show. It should be called "The Curse of Joke Island".
Thanks for watching!
@@FactsVerse You're welcome.
If you think its fake or just waste of time then turn the channel nobody makes you watch it. Thanks and have a nice day
