I've camped alone so many times for so long I find it surprising when a video like this pops up. Hope you had fun! No one likes the kind of camping I do, way off trail, tarp and hammock. I have a friend that I camp with now but he's moving away so I'll be back to solo camping again. My new camping partner will be a Garmin InReach device or similar because my wife thinks I'm a doddering old fool who will kill himself alone. I hope that knife is junk, I'd hate to beat on something expensive with a metal hammer. As for the hammer...what was its intended purpose when you packed it? I'm thinking for the weight you could have brought a small hatchet or tomahawk. Good video, I'll check the others!
It was a lot of fun! Being my first time backpacking I didn’t really think all that much about what I was bringing lol, definitely bringing a hatchet next time! Gonna head out and do another trip tonight! Appreciate the comment!

Because it keeps your pots nice and clean! While it's fun to go 100% bushcraft at times it's also convenient to light a stove if you simply want hot water NOW.
