Nice work, gentlemen. Don't feel bad about the Mustang coming apart, that was 35-ish years underwater, looked just like the Camaro from Foss Lake. The modular style aftermarket wheels and Goodyear Eagle GT tires put this into the mid '80s. The engine is a 351 Cleveland (with headers, and the previous video showed a Holley 4 barrel carburetor, this was someone's hot rod) , the transmission is an FMX automatic, and the rear end is a 9 inch. Hey, "AWP" - - - Now there’s an excellent well produced video ! Great videography, (including the quad-copter shots). The amazing thing is that you persevered and didn’t just say the hell with it !!! BTW, I had a 1971 Mustang fastback metallic silver / black interior that was the biggest POS I’ve ever ordered. Front fenders rotted out at the top in less than two years, (NO inner fender liners). The flat black 351 ram air hood paint was sprayed directly over dust and grit. The Mustang decal on the trunk lid had bubbles and a rip. Passenger side door had paint sags. The all plastic dashboard fascia components didn’t come close to lining up, and the fake chrome trim was pitted , (I had the optional gauge cluster). All those memories came “flooding” back as you guys pulled that disintegrating, crumbling, corpse of a car out of that river! Maybe the owner had similar problems and did say the hell with it. LOL!!! Keep those GoPros, drones, and underwater cameras percolating! Five thumbs up. Subscribed.
Thanks for your comment and support. We have a few more videos filmed before COVID took over our lives. Once we get the all clear, we'll be back out in full force getting more.
Me and a friend went diving for fish in Norway once and we discovered a sunken Porsche 911 turbo 1978 we thought it was So we called a rescue boat that could fish the car up to the surface and look at it and to our surprise there where little to nothing rust on the engine so... we took on the difficult task and to restore it needed new body panels especially in frunk and the engine cover new turbo and some stuff inside the engine like the pistons and the spark plugs and all the electrical stuff was toast so had to buy new cables and now it kinda runs and most of the stuff works still needs new starter and windows and some new seats Edit: Kinda runs after like 5 years of restoring and taking off the old broken stuff and putting the new stuff inn
The aluminum trans case and bell housing has mostly corroded away, have a look at the rear of the engine you can still see a bit of the bell housing around the starter motor.
I know in my head that the car was roached long ago but it still made me cringe to watch it pull apart on the way up the ramp lol. Keep up the great work guys.

I just ran across your videos. It reminded me of a story that I was told about my Grandpa's brother that was a hell raising hillbilly his whole life. Back in 1957 he stole a 1957 Chevy from a local dealer one weekend, drove it all over then drove it out onto a small frozen lake and scuttled it. He went back to the dealer on the same weekend and took another one and did the same thing. To my knowledge there both still at the bottom of Davy Jones locker. Always wanted to find them if for no other reason to validate the story although I consider my source a very reliable one, but never got the opportunity. I'd be happy to share details if it was something you wanted to document.

Now THAT would b DEF something 2 look into!!! Thanks Matty...!!!👍👩💻
I bet it’s about impossible to pull a whole train out. Those have to be heavy asf
I live in vancouver Washington im super intersted couldnt find anything on google you wanna help me out give a hint maybe lol
Would this be possible? I want to see a train being pulled out! Guys tell us if this would even be possible.
@@courtneysha8004 it's possible but needs money 💰
Don’t you just hate it when they fall apart like a perfectly cook chicken😂😂
bodge6886 mmmm chicken
Rotisseried horse...
kram Null oh ok
As an owner of a 73 Mustang, I can confirm that car was in there for AT LEAST 10-12 days. Maybe 2 weeks.
Any longer and the rust would have been REALLY bad.
Totally underrated comment
@@annedalton289 As a multi-year owner of a 1973 Mustang, I am automatically an expert in rust damage.
I had a 428 Mach 1 ram air, 5 speed. It was kind of an army green. Black louvers on the back window. Loved that car! Was so fast BUT when I raced you could watch the gas gauge go down! Muscle Cars love that sound
It’s never a bad day to watch your vidssssss❤️
Not only what you do is cool, the fact it's snowing is beautiful. Thanks for sharing
Jared is like the “Elvis” of car retrieval.
I so want one. Love it already havnt even watched the video. You are the best you tuber along with DandD. You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!
Love. Your. Channel
Very. Much. I. Watch. It. All. The. Time
Elite can’t be beat!! 💗
Love the video! That poor mustang has seen better days. Glad you never gave up!
I felt so bad. I really wanted to get this out in one piece.
Krystin Reeg how do u get that logo next to your name
oh this pains me to see this mustang again in the water... imagine how beautiful it would have been back in 73 or 72.
dumped in 1980..with headers. Would love to know the stolen story behind it
I bet when it was discarded in that river it was most likely rust-free
Yes. I'm a lucky 1. I still have mine.
This was hard to watch.
I have a soft spot for the Mach1 Mustangs, I use to own a Green 71 Mach1.
I stumbled across you channel a few days ago and been watching some of your older videos. What a great channel you have and amazing content. What a great cause. Mad Respect for everything you're doing to help families with missing loved ones.
Kinda hurts your heart, doesn't it? Bet she was a beauty in her time.
I love your moves you do a great job
jared is a funny lad, i chuckled a lot
Headers and Cragar steel wheels! Someone's hot rod that was probably stolen and ditched.

Thanks for your comment and support. We have a few more videos filmed before COVID took over our lives. Once we get the all clear, we'll be back out in full force getting more.
Great job guys love what you're doing for the environment. Just subscribed looking forward to checking out all your current and past videos!
I am mesmerised by this channel. Greetings from London. Keep up the good work and stay in the water. x
Me and a friend went diving for fish in Norway once and we discovered a sunken Porsche 911 turbo 1978 we thought it was
So we called a rescue boat that could fish the car up to the surface and look at it and to our surprise there where little to nothing rust on the engine so... we took on the difficult task and to restore it needed new body panels especially in frunk and the engine cover new turbo and some stuff inside the engine like the pistons and the spark plugs and all the electrical stuff was toast so had to buy new cables and now it kinda runs and most of the stuff works still needs new starter and windows and some new seats
Edit: Kinda runs after like 5 years of restoring and taking off the old broken stuff and putting the new stuff inn
I'd love to find a Porsche 911. Nice Find!
show some pics of the recovery, please
No such car as 1978 911 turbo, it's a 930. check the vin.
the username speaks otherwise
SEAN BENWARE he can’t because he’s lying. He speaks like he knows nothing about cars. And Luke is right. The username says otherwise.
Not only did Elite Towing bring a tow truck they brought the sun along with them. Bonus 🌞
We can always count on them.
"Is anyone gonna want that motor?" YES I would GLADLY take that V8 off your hands!
Full rebuild 😂😂
I have never cried so much
Oh, that was painful. Such a beautiful car in such horrible shape. It makes my heart hurt.
I feel so sorry for that Mustang, someone really doesn't like those cars at all.
Probably like the car so much that they stole it
@@traxxasrcfun Or were drunk.....or CLAIMED it was stolen for the insurance money!!
@@USCG.Brennan probably a little bit of all the above lol
a chevy person
All Stang's friends have been melted down and reincarnated as SUVs.
Ooooh man this is sad. All because of a jealous woman
It looks like the transmission is still in the river. The engine came out with just the torque converter and the transmission wasn't in the tunnel.
The aluminum trans case and bell housing has mostly corroded away, have a look at the rear of the engine you can still see a bit of the bell housing around the starter motor.
Can’t wait for a restoration video
I know in my head that the car was roached long ago but it still made me cringe to watch it pull apart on the way up the ramp lol. Keep up the great work guys.
Ran when parked. Needs some carb work. Minimal Rust.
“I know what I have”
Never seen a drop of water in its life
Clean Title 🤣
All highway miles, never abused.
You guys are funny 😂
Still have it in my garage in perfect condition 2021 :D
That Mustang was treated so badly that it was afraid to come back on dry land.
I love that it’s snowing in the video. I miss snow.
Omg this is gorgeous video. Those big chunky snowflakes are gorgeous. (Southerner here)
Love you guys what you do is awesome work you do this every day and I am forever grateful that you always helping the Families#1 working so close with them your our angles in our eyes each and everyone of you Thank You
1st fastback/coupe/convertible Mustang I've ever seen.
I think a little metal work and some bondo you would have a 70's muscle car Jared! Great recovery. Elite and the guys do have colorful ways to hook up to a rusted vehicle.
I think by the time we were done restoring, we’d have more bondo than metal on that car. 😅
@@AdventuresWithPurpose real shame...I'm just angered of people throwing vehicles in the water..that oil, fuel ect is bad for the environment...plus some cars like that MACH-1, Mk2 Jag are real expensive classics if restored or kept original.
Frames probably fucked, cost more to repair than to buy a better one
I think it will buff out
@@bluerazor7049 well if you think about it, even with all of the fluids seeping into the river, that rust bucket did less environmental damage sitting in the river than it would have if it had been driven over those 40 years.
I had an encounter with an employee of elite towing last night. Good people they are
Elite Towing are incredible people and supporters of our efforts for sure. Start taking selfies with them... They love it! 😉
@@AdventuresWithPurpose definitely will do
Been watching a fairly long time now and only came back to these older videos recently. Miss Jared being front and center with his quick wit and great sense of humor. Appreciate the serious work being done in 2022, but love the new Behind the Scenes videos by Josh which give us the humor and comraderie from these old days!!!
Hmm, rig a pully using trees to right to move vehicle sideways on the ramp around the rock.
Good job and a memory Brothers amen and good job
Well, that WAS a Mustang. Being a car guy, finding an old abandoned car is both really cool, and really sad at the same time.
Man those headers on that engine are awesome! They're no good, obviously, but it looks to be a 351 engine with headers. Awesome!
Wow, that thing went from nearly intact to unrecognizable by the time it was loaded, lol.
It never occurred to me before watching your channel that so many stolen cars are dumped in rivers
Oh my gosh I looove those cars....
Woohoo!!!!! Mustang time
