I always loved marketing from a young age. Maybe because it's a mixture of Business and Psychology. I chose Seneca because it was one of the affordable colleges in canada for International students. Wouldn't want to spend money on a University again.
I used to procrastinate a lot when I was younger.(still do but I think I'm better now). But I never missed a deadline ever. I aimed only for 80% because even with 80% you still can get 4.0 GPA. So why should I aim for 90-100% when I can get same 4.0 GPA with 80% better for my mental health and social life. For starters my advice is habits are more important than motivation. 1) have a calendar. Either google calendar but I prefer a physical calendar. Calendars are cheap or I would print out a calendar template online. Or just draw your own calendar. Make sure you stick it somewhere you can see. I also have a whiteboard to write my to do lists for the day. I write around 5 things to do. Not more than 5. I need a lot of breaks so I use this technique called Pomodoro Timer technique. You can google about it but it's basically 25min of working and then 5 min break and repeat. After a while you don't feel the need to take 5min break if you can get into the flow or zone. Next I realize that motivation is not good enough. It's hard for me to stay motivated. It's better to be disciplined. Discipline is doing something you need to do even when you don't feel like it. I hate assignments man. I have homework but I know I don't want to fail. So 1 hr study of homework everyday is better than 7 hours in 1 day to cram. The hardest part is always starting. Find a system. Calendar, reminders, schedule email to yourself. Hardest part is to start. Tldr,; I use physical calendars, whiteboard, Pomodoro technique, mute notifications from my phone, take lots of break. Study everyday 1 hr min and never had to cram the last day. Study for 25min and 5 min break and make sure to reward myself with playing video games or watching Anime after doing a min of 1-2 hr work a day. Discipline > motivation. You go to work and school even if you don't feel like it. Habits are more important than motivation. Im not in college now but I'm still learning new things and use these techniques. Advice coming from a procrastinator. Dm in Instagram for more tips

Com to see the ratings and reviews of the professors based on what other students said. I'm not sure what's your English level but that's why colleges want to make sure you at least passed Ielts. If you did, it means you can understand English enough
I'm not sure about that. Better to check their website or email Seneca(there is an email for international students) . But I know it's little bit more pricy than finding accommodation off campus. It's ok to do it for 1 semester and make friends and find off campus later.

That's amazing that you are a pro at figure skating. I suck. Well guess what. IT'S FREE! (As long as you didn't opt out from the facilities in your tuition fees) if you pay your fees without opting out for anything, this is included. Keep in mind that this is Newnham campus.
Yes. Part of your tuition are the facilities too.so they are free. Just show your student ID and they give you skating shoes and balls. However they are not open all the time. You have to find out the opening times. You should also join the football team
Yes. Definitely. Events like Career fair, or some speaker would come to give a talk, or even small clubs to join. But tip: the real network happens in the cafeteria and classrooms ;) I don't like networking events because it feels like everyone is there for business opportunities

There are many parts in Toronto with different price range. I don't know if you in Canada yet but the best would be living somewhere close to college. Make sure you have access to public transport like TTC(Toronto Transit Commission) because depending on where you live, you dont want to pay extra for taking a different transportation.for example, if you live in Markham or North York. You will have to pay a different fare when entering Toronto. In my experience, Scarborough is the most affordable area to live. Whatever you decide. Make sure it doesn't take more than 1 hr to go to your college. Trust me, you will thank me when winter comes. Try to live with housemates and roommates if you can.

Sorry I don't know about it. That's better to talk to your student advisor and the US University. If it's similar program and similar courses. You should be able to transfer some courses
Are you talking about your Program(major) or about different course subject. Most of my courses are offered in Newnham campus but some courses I choose to take in Markham becuase of the professor. You can choose your time table and courses depending on your preferences. Some courses are available in different campuses, so yes! You can change a course from Markham to another ONLY if it's available. Did I answer your question?

@@dreamcatcher8997 tough question to answer. I'm not sure even what global business management means. What type of job are you expecting? Canada does have a lot unemployment rate. But don't expect your job our of college will be a job in your field unless you have some connections to refer you or good job experience. That's why I would suggest you keep building your resume with part time jobs while in college and make good friendships. I also studied bachelor's in Business Administration and I got a job because of a friend. That's the truth. Before you graduate, Seneca has a website called Seneca Works. To get some good internship positions that are available only to Seneca students. Good way to get in a company and be full time
Most likely you won't have enough points to get the PR after graduating. After graduating you will have to apply for a Post Graduate Work Permit. Then work full time in a good job for a year or two. That will add more points to make you eligible to apply for the PR. ( There are many ways to get PR) but working after college and applying through work experience is a common way international students do.

My answer is bias since I studied in Seneca. But here is the thing. After Universities, Seneca college is one of the Top ranking colleges in Canada. It depends on your program and it depends more on your professors. I hope your program will be in campus and not online college. Also before creating a schedule. Look at ratemyprofessors. Com to pick the good professors.

For event marketing that needs to be in person. I can't imagine studying that online. What's the average cost of tuition per year. I'm going on different sites and I'm seeing different prices. I would love to come and do a two year programme in marketing
Why go to different sites? If it's for Seneca go to Seneca site and select the program. There is a tab to see the fees cost. For diploma it's around 7,000 per semester. So 1 year has 2 semester.

@@kemarblake1854 not all courses need you to get textbook. I would borrow from the library. But some classes might need you to get the online book because they might want you to do some online tests. It depends on the professors
Newnham campus is the best campus from all the others. However some programs are available in only specific Campus. If that program you take is available in Newnham campus sure choose that.
Is the masters program 2 years? So that you can get 3 yr post graduate work permit. I had a good experience. It's up to you how you can adjust and make friends. College is HUGE. Try your best to create friendships and network

People take 2+ yr programs just for the 3 yr work permit which gives you enough time to get a good job and apply for permanent residency if that's your goal. Just fyi

I would suggest you do a minimum of 2 yr program so that you can get a 3 year work permit to stay longer in Canada and have time to apply for Permanent residency if you are interested in that. Hey, I want to come to senecca in some years. I will be graduating uni from my home country next year but I want the experience of going to a Canadian college and plus I want a PR. So I'm planning to come and do an associate's in something. Hi Kemar. So as an international student you can work 20hrs a week part time job. And you can work full time during semester breaks. In Ontario the minimum wage is $14/hr, so thats around $1120 per month. NO you can't afford to pay tuition with part time job but yes it's enough to survive IF you do live with housemates or roommates. Rent is always the biggest expense so your goal would be to have a roommate or housemates. If you do decide to get a room for yourself that's around $700-800 around Seneca North York Campus. So yea if you have a roommate you can pay $350-400. From my experience during college. My monthl expense was around $1000 a month. Some student work cash job(under the table) jobs too. It's easy to find a part time job but make sure your schedule is ok. So weekends you are free to work so I would suggest you create a 4 days college schedule so that you are free to work 3 days a week 7hrs each day (that's 21 hrs but I will be 20 hrs since lunch break is not always counted). The most common jobs for international students are retail, fast food, sales associate, security guard, or supermarket. Hope I could be of help. If you are from India. All of my Indian friends got GIC every month which is their monthly allowance that you have to deposit and the bank give you every month for a year or two. I didn't have GIC since I'm not coming from India but that helped my Indian friends. Fyi Toronto is one of the most expensive cities in Canada. So that's why others choose to live and study out of Toronto. But I love Toronto but also hate the expensive rent. I've had roommate and housemates until now. What do you mean how many days to attend class? That is up to you. Attend class whenever you want but those who attend class tend to get better grades than those who skip.

If you did 4 yrs bachelors program from Seneca, why don't you consider just getting your 3 yrs Post Graduate Work Permit, work and get the PR and do your master after you get PR? When you get PR you can pay domestic fees, have enough money and also you have time to think if MBA is worth it or not
@@md.shahparanhossain1710 I know Seneca has good relationship with other Universities and provide masters in partnership with these other Uni, but personally I think your priority is to get PR and after that do whatever you want. Bachelors and Master's doesn't guarantee you a better job these days and I would never want to pay international students fees for masters.
The best UNIVERSITY for IT is University of Waterloo but I wouldn't suggest you go there as an international student since it will be very expensive. Colleges are less expensive than Universities. I'm not sure about Seneca college but I'm sure Seneca is one of the top for IT too. Best you do your research

Hi Irish! First of all congratulations on wanting to come to Canada. It's a big deal. My advice for rent and housing: if you have any relatives or any friends or friends of friends in Canada, ask them if you can stay with them for some months. Any help counts. If you don't have any friends or relatives, I would recommend you check websites like Kijiji and Facebook marketplace. The secret is that if you are new to Canada, you don't want to sign a 1 year lease. You want someone else to have already signed the lease and now they are renting out a room for you and your friends. This removes the risk from you and you are not stuck to a place for a year and can move anytime if you find a better deal. Look for rooms and not for the whole apartment. Expect in the beginning to live with other housemates for a while. When you start college, focus on making more friends because that network will help you find better deals for rooms if there are available rooms and who knows? You might move in with your new college friends! The average price for a while 2 bedroom apartment near Seneca college is around $2000 and students even have people living in the living room. So average price for a while room around Seneca and affordable areas are around $650-$700. The goal is to have a roommate so that you can pay half of $700 or $800. If you find a whole room for less than $350. Be very skeptical and ideally you want to see the room before moving in. When something is really cheap it could mean there are a lot of people living in that house. Basements are cheaper and a room in a townhouse is better than an apartment (I lived in both townhouse and apartments) but please if you are new to Canada don't sign a lease for any townhouse or apartment if possible. You don't want to be responsible if everyone decide to leave the place and you have to pay the whole rent. Rent a room. If you have any more questions. Feel free to DM me in IG

I would suggest you watch this video from another RUclipsr who makes videos about Canada. She makes many good videos. I agree with her. Most agencies are not authorized or legit. Not gonna lie. The first year was the toughest because of all the change and I needed to adjust. If you can go through the first year. You can do it. Just remember, stress and challenges are everywhere and every year but yes. First year was not easy.
I don't want to scare you but it's not impossible. Just find good friends to support you and share their secrets and knowledge too. You can't do it alone. Help is always there
College requirements do require some proof of English but you don't necessarily need to do IELTs exam. There are many exams. One of my friend got accepted to Seneca by doing a Duolingo English test which was cheaper and faster

There is a diploma for international business but I can't say if any diploma is worth it or not. This goes for any college. Business is such a broad field. These days, diploma doesn't guarantee you a job. It's mostly networking and experience.

Are you Canadian? Well I do have some white Canadian friends but I realized it depends on your program too. However it's very obvious that the majority of the students are international students

Degree is a 4 years program. It might be expensive but more affordable than going to a university. The truth is that no degree guarantees a good job right when you graduate but your 4 years as a student is more than enough time for networking and getting part time work experience. Good jobs is mostly who you know so that you can get refferals to atleast get an interview. Seneca is a good college but many people in Canada have degrees. Focus more on networking, making friends, getting work experience, and improving even outside of your grades

I'm not sure about that. Better to check their website or email Seneca(there is an email for international students) . But I know it's little bit more pricy than finding accommodation off campus. It's ok to do it for 1 semester and make friends and find off campus later.

Yes. Definitely. Events like Career fair, or some speaker would come to give a talk, or even small clubs to join.

There are many parts in Toronto with different price range. I don't know if you in Canada yet but the best would be living somewhere close to college. Make sure you have access to public transport like TTC(Toronto Transit Commission) because depending on where you live, you dont want to pay extra for taking a different transportation.for example, if you live in Markham or North York. You will have to pay a different fare when entering Toronto. In my experience, Scarborough is the most affordable area to live. Whatever you decide. Make sure it doesn't take more than 1 hr to go to your college. Trust me, you will thank me when winter comes. Try to live with housemates and roommates if you can.

Are you talking about your Program(major) or about different course subject. Most of my courses are offered in Newnham campus but some courses I choose to take in Markham becuase of the professor. You can choose your time table and courses depending on your preferences. Some courses are available in different campuses, so yes! You can change a course from Markham to another ONLY if it's available. Did I answer your question?

But don't expect your job our of college will be a job in your field unless you have some connections to refer you or good job experience. That's why I would suggest you keep building your resume with part time jobs while in college and make good friendships. I also studied bachelor's in Business Administration and I got a job because of a friend. That's the truth. Before you graduate, Seneca has a website called Seneca Works. To get some good internship positions that are available only to Seneca students. Good way to get in a company and be full time

Most likely you won't have enough points to get the PR after graduating. After graduating you will have to apply for a Post Graduate Work Permit. Then work full time in a good job for a year or two. That will add more points to make you eligible to apply for the PR. ( There are many ways to get PR) but working after college and applying through work experience is a common way international students do.

My answer is bias since I studied in Seneca. But here is the thing. After Universities, Seneca college is one of the Top ranking colleges in Canada. Why go to different sites? If it's for Seneca go to Seneca site and select the program. There is a tab to see the fees cost. For diploma it's around 7,000 per semester. So 1 year has 2 semester.

Is the masters program 2 years? So that you can get 3 yr post graduate work permit. I had a good experience. It's up to you how you can adjust and make friends. College is HUGE. Try your best to create friendships and network

Hey, I want to come to senecca in some years. I will be graduating uni from my home country next year but I want the experience of going to a Canadian college and plus I want a PR. So I'm planning to come and do an associate's in something. I want to do two year marketing course but I want to know what I can expect for the cost of living each year and is it easy to find part time job? I'm looking forward to your reply
Hi Kemar. So as an international student you can work 20hrs a week part time job. And you can work full time during semester breaks. In Ontario the minimum wage is $14/hr, so thats around $1120 per month. NO you can't afford to pay tuition with part time job but yes it's enough to survive IF you do live with housemates or roommates. Rent is always the biggest expense so your goal would be to have a roommate or housemates. If you do decide to get a room for yourself that's around $700-800 around Seneca North York Campus. So yea if you have a roommate you can pay $350-400.
From my experience during college. My monthl expense was around $1000 a month. Some student work cash job(under the table) jobs too. It's easy to find a part time job but make sure your schedule is ok. So weekends you are free to work so I would suggest you create a 4 days college schedule so that you are free to work 3 days a week 7hrs each day (that's 21 hrs but I will be 20 hrs since lunch break is not always counted). The most common jobs for international students are retail, fast food, sales associate, security guard, or supermarket. Hope I could be of help. If you are from India. All of my Indian friends got GIC every month which is their monthly allowance that you have to deposit and the bank give you every month for a year or two. I didn't have GIC since I'm not coming from India but that helped my Indian friends. Fyi Toronto is one of the most expensive cities in Canada. So that's why others choose to live and study out of Toronto. But I love Toronto but also hate the expensive rent. I've had roommate and housemates until now. What do you mean how many days to attend class? That is up to you. Attend class whenever you want but those who attend class tend to get better grades than those who skip.

If you did 4 yrs bachelors program from Seneca, why don't you consider just getting your 3 yrs Post Graduate Work Permit, work and get the PR and do your master after you get PR? When you get PR you can pay domestic fees, have enough money and also you have time to think if MBA is worth it or not

The best UNIVERSITY for IT is University of Waterloo but I wouldn't suggest you go there as an international student since it will be very expensive. Colleges are less expensive than Universities. I'm not sure about Seneca college but I'm sure Seneca is one of the top for IT too. Best you do your research

Hi Irish! First of all congratulations on wanting to come to Canada. It's a big deal.
My advice for rent and housing: if you have any relatives or any friends or friends of friends in Canada, ask them if you can stay with them for some months. Any help counts.
If you don't have any friends or relatives, I would recommend you check websites like Kijiji and Facebook marketplace. The secret is that if you are new to Canada, you don't want to sign a 1 year lease. You want someone else to have already signed the lease and now they are renting out a room for you and your friends. This removes the risk from you and you are not stuck to a place for a year and can move anytime if you find a better deal. Look for rooms and not for the whole apartment. Expect in the beginning to live with other housemates for a while.
When you start college, focus on making more friends because that network will help you find better deals for rooms if there are available rooms and who knows? You might move in with your new college friends!
The average price for a while 2 bedroom apartment near Seneca college is around $2000 and students even have people living in the living room. So average price for a while room around Seneca and affordable areas are around $650-$700. The goal is to have a roommate so that you can pay half of $700 or $800. If you find a whole room for less than $350. Be very skeptical and ideally you want to see the room before moving in. When something is really cheap it could mean there are a lot of people living in that house. Basements are cheaper and a room in a townhouse is better than an apartment (I lived in both townhouse and apartments) but please if you are new to Canada don't sign a lease for any townhouse or apartment if possible. You don't want to be responsible if everyone decide to leave the place and you have to pay the whole rent. Rent a room. If you have any more questions. Feel free to DM me in IG

Not gonna lie. The first year was the toughest because of all the change and I needed to adjust. If you can go through the first year. You can do it. Just remember, stress and challenges are everywhere and every year but yes. First year was not easy.

Hi Tess. This is a college not a university. Which I understand in some countries sounds like the same thing. To answer your question this was the college I attended so my opinion might not be objective. But yes Seneca is a popular college for international students and more affordable than universities

Hey, I had a query hope you would advise me on that! I had applied in Seneca college for fall 2021 and received the offer letter. My course is honours bachelors of commerce in business management. I wanted to know if Seneca is the right choice to do my degree considering the future prospects after my degree regarding jobs and knowledge I will gain. Is it worth to do my degree from Seneca or I should look towards other schools. As you are studying there you know better so your advice will be valuable and do you know anyone doing this course. Do let me know whenever you get free time:)

Degree is a 4 years program. It might be expensive but more affordable than going to a university. The truth is that no degree guarantees a good job right when you graduate but your 4 years as a student is more than enough time for networking and getting part time work experience. Good jobs is mostly who you know so that you can get refferals to atleast get an interview. Seneca is a good college but many people in Canada have degrees. Focus more on networking, making friends, getting work experience, and improving even outside of your grades

Yup it's huge and when I was filming this video they were building a new extension building which is open now. So even bigger now.

Fees per semester is around $8000. As an international student you can work only 20hrs per week. Easiest part time jobs to get are either in fast food, sales and retail.
