stay tunned i have much more 2023 bikes on the way, we are vinally starting to see more and more of them coming into stock finally
Specialized Australia has these listed with XTR for $AU14k, same spec except for the groupset
Hi, do you know something about the new version of the Stumpjumper Alloy 2023? The current frame has been unchanged for 3 years, and I don't know if it's worth waiting.
"many" more
Love my Epic Evo. Got the base used and swapped XT & roval controls. Got it around 26 lbs for $4500. Can't beat it
Thanks @GC Performance for another great video!
the 'pro' doesn't have the 34 step-cast, it's the regular 34 fork in 120mm, so ~200+ grams more.
Step-Cast 34 is only on the S-Works level
Really?!? Thanks for letting me know this, I must have over looked that
Hi man, the true IS that the pro and the s-works has the dame fork and Back suspensión Fox dps too. Even the wheels are the same
This Epic Evo looks incredible. I just bought a Cervelo Soloist today. I'll give you the credit of making a great video on that bike. One of the reasons I bought it. Good work. Cheers!
Its pretty heavy isnt it?
@@mikicastan 18 pounds. Not too bad. The aero benefits outweigh the weight penalty
Thanks so much and congrats on the new soloist. And lot of people are loving that bike!!!
@@GCPerformance18 Ultegra Di2 as well. Stoked!!! Already upgraded to Enve AR bars lol. Now just need to plan a fat ride.
Any ideas how this compares to the the Pro Ltd? I much prefer the colour of this regular pro but have found a 2023 ltd near me with a 35% discount. Can’t seem to find any reviews of the ltd though.
Just bought one of these yesterday! Did not pick it up yet but just wondering if on a size medium, the crank length listed is incorrect at 175mm. Usually the size small/mediums have a 170mm length.
What a beautiful bike! Looking at one now!
You and me both!
@@GCPerformance18 The sale prices are insane!
Loving this new bike now and it is soooo efficient that I'm always less fatigued at the end of a ride. Just one issue with the dropper post sticking, which requires you to push it down to release it if it is just slightly below mid travel. Any ideas? Should I check the pressure or is this just an issue with this Fox Transfer post? I know they just redesigned it so perhaps it is just something to accept?
I have the choice of this for £3700 vs the pro ltd at £4000! Which would you go for ? Ltd has Rockshox Sid Ultimate and newer SRAM groupset.
Hello, how do you perceive the size of the L bike? I'm 178 cm, leg height 84 cm and I can't decide when choosing size M or L.
Would really love some help with a compairson between a the Blur tr vs Epic Evo? I have had a Epic Evo before loved the bike but would like to try something different on my next bike. Thank you very much!
Hi, great video as always. I am at the stage of building new bike. Coming from old geometry bikes with 5'10 height I though I will get Medium, but after testing Large I am leaning towards buying larger frame now. I always rode Medium bikes but this new trail geometry changed a lot. Could you tell me what is the rider height please? Many thanks
I've got a couple of rides on mine so far. So smooth!
Sick! Kashima-coloured spesh logos, and yea it'll look better with a copper / gold cassette.
Tidy up the cables with some heatshrink, and goddam.
I should have them installed
I wouldn't mind if i get top tier mechanical groupset (sram or shimano) it still shifts great.
They came with top tier xtr 2 years strait but everyone who bought the bike swapped it out for electronics almost immediately
@@GCPerformance18 I feel like XT/xtr shifts better than SRAM electronic but they're all so good these days that it's personal preference at this point
This why I love specialized
this bike is so nice
Specialized Epic Evo Comp, the best mtb for 90% of the mtb population.
but only 10% can afford it 😕
@@andypaul999 True, but the Comp cost much less than this Pro model. But yeah still too expensive.
Go expert for the money
9:44 just wondering how does the lockout routing work ? as in where does the cable come out ?
it comes out the top tube there is a small plug right there, and you can route it with a normal drop out lever
I'm 5'8 what size should I go for?
medium
what about electronic lockouts? That would be sweet. I would prefer that to electronic shifting
That will be nice. Rock shock and fox both have those systems but extremely expensive
@@GCPerformance18 I thought since SRAM and Rockshox are part of the same company than the price would go down
Might be mistaken but that is not a Fox 34SC, looked like a regular 34 ? I thought the regular 34 was only 130mm or 140mm….I’m confused because I am looking to change my 2022 Evo to Fox instead of RS
you are correrct it is not stepcast
Love that you start this out with the weight to avoid all the "what is the weight comments" LoL
lmao I try to inform everyone I can but some how I still see some people ask me that
@@GCPerformance18 your videos are very helpful and keep getting better.... can't fix the internet
GC, another awesome video. S should really be giving you an affiliate link to break you off a commission. I bet you sold a few Epics from this video.
Ha 😝 I’m not worried about affiliate link just some heads up when new products come out, like a RUclipsr lol
How can I Install the MRP chain guard in my 2022 evo expert?
I dont see your website, where are you located ??? In Florida
yes we are in florida, name of the store is bicycle generation!!! give me a call
Any Time road bikes in your area (not sure if you have done a review)?
I have done one time road bike. But there are not a lot of them around here
Great video (as always). What’s the price?
Thank you!! 8900
Do anyone know something about the new version of the Stumpjumper Alloy 2023?
nothing yet, I do not think they are changing for it this year
@@GCPerformance18 Thank you :)
You mentioned a possible carbon upgrade to the shock link, is that a thing? Also maybe freehub upgrade?
Yes you just need to contact a specialized store to get one on order
Whats weight od this bike?
The price differences between the models (like the difference between Expert and Pro) aren’t justified. The complete bike basically costs more than the single components
The pro has nicer suspension, nicer dropper post. And nicer components. Like cassette and crank that are carbon and xx1 cassette. They are all small things that add up. Probably suspension alone upgrades would be like 200-300 a piece
Thats why I built up a full sus Chinese carbon frame bike for xc racing that weighs in at 10.020 kilos or less than 22 1/2 pounds and spent only $4800 on parts and shipping of said parts. Try buying a thoroughbred xc racer that weighs 10.6 kilos or less from any big name brand bike comapny and be ready to shell out $8,500 at the very least. And Don't try that "chinese carbon xc frames are inferior" BS on me. I raced one for 7 years( 46 races total) in north Thailand alongside most Thais using Chinese open mould frames and never had a single issue with my frame nor did any of my Thai friends racing them.I put on around 300 kilometers every week on that frame in my training sessions 6 days a week.
For My new 2022 build, I shipped a Chinese carbon full sus frame to Colorado that cost me less than $600 UDS plus about $200 shipping and it came in three weeks without a scratch on it, and put on top end components (Because I could afford to saving so much on the frame, ) and used carbon wheels from the same company laced to DT swiss 240 hubs. I've had it 8 months now and raced it 4 times with three first place finishes and one third place finish.
And oh yes the money I saved building this bike, (nearly $5000) I used to buy an airline ticket back to Thailand where I now am , and am having a nice long vacation of 4 months racing all around Thailand, avoiding the Colorado snow season and living off the money that others are still putting into their heavier name brand bikes. just sayin" Who's having the most fun?
@@williammorris6097 Well I’m not saying to buy a cheap Chinese carbon frame, that sometimes could be not well designed or developed, but the fact that a complete bike costs more than its single components has no sense at all (and also that bike prices in last years are becoming really to high without sense, like the Scott Lumen at 16.000€, and even for the medium end bikes that are not that well specked and don’t worth their price at all).
Beautiful bike why would put sh*t brakes on a top of range bike🤔?
No 3 position lockout for front and rear sus? Lol specialized….
Orbea is dropping a new Oiz November 3rd
thye are 3 position lockout, but you have to do it manually
@@GCPerformance18 yea imagine riding 30kmh with a pulse in the 180bpm and having to manually search for the lever to unlock your rear shock because a descent is coming looool
@@GCPerformance18 I’m saying why wouldn’t they just add the lock out levers to this build… seems ridiculous not to have them on a 8K bike.
sup dude
i'm about to buy a clone of this epic evo frameset.
was wondering if you would be interested in reviewing it and doing a comparison.
Do you have any evo frame sets for sale?
no frames but I do have complete bikes, I have expert evo comp evo large builds
What is the difference between the 2022 frame vs the 2023 frame?
nothign at all
Can't wait to see all the new 2023 Mountain bikes come through.
Just got the notice sworks epic evo is coming in
No thanks for the Sram brakes, literal sh*t, one friend of mine got them on his s-works and it fing leaked 500km after, and other on a scott spark and had his pistons in both brakes seize . Both were new bikes XD
I had the same problem with two piston XT calipers, i also had to replace one of the levers that was leaking from the resevior casing. Its a bigger problem that exists with quality control. I never used to have problems with components like i do now.
SRAM brakes on my bikes have flawless (4 years and 2 years). Haven’t serviced them either. And the modulation is much better than Shimano
Shimano brakes feel so much better.
@@pepperonipizza3080 check out formula too, lighter and more stopping power😁
Lmao as we can see we have so many people with different preferences and best occasions for them. Everyone will have a different experience and they will think there opinion is right
nice bike...i do like the previous years colorways better though.
Especially with the S-Works
I like this years pro better. But sworks is gonna look hot here
Seat needs to be higher
hahahahha fuck off, its a stock but for the picture
Hi man, you do the BEST . So nicely .
Man i live in colombia and i am thinking to buy this one or the s-works model for xc and xcm, but i want to put in It a block in the direction for evading issues if i go down or transport the bike un mi car.
So, what Kind block can install there? And what would you recomend for the money if this one or the s-works? I really Will recognoise the sensations of difference carbón and stiffness between the two.?
Thanks man
What do you mean of the block?!! I don’t understand?
@@GCPerformance18 hi man .
I mean somethink like the knockblock of Trek but special for this bike
@@luchocatano1772 I looked for awhile to find something to prevent the bars hitting the top tube, but with multiple crashes I've had no issues with it cracking the frame. I wrapped the area of the top tube where the controls hit with 3m tape and it's been all good.
@@dvoob thanks man, i Will look at It and wait the coming.
Keep doing your best
@@luchocatano1772 there were some headset solutions that limited the twist of the bar, but I couldn't find one that would ship to the US
Dam hung it by the shock? Party foul 😳
No issues there. It’s on rubber sleeve
Tell me how this Evo Pro is a "better value" than the Evo Expert, when the price is some $1800 more.
For the suspension yoj get its way better the rockshox that comes spec on the expert
@@GCPerformance18 I've owned an Evo Expert for over two years now and I'm very pleased with the Rockshox suspension. I also like Fox bits; in fact, my previous bike had Fox suspension. No way the change to Fox suspension and a carbon bar is worth another $1800. I do prefer the Evo Pro color for 2023, but that's about it.
It's not, he's a bike shop owner so of course he's going to say the more expensive option is better. Get the model with the sid and upgrade the wheels to carbon and your bike will be within 1 pound of this build and cost way less
@@dvoob The one-step-down Expert model already has same carbon wheels as the Pro model!
And just imagine paying this much for the bike and not even get remote lockout so you have to pay even more money to get it....
Specialized bikes were always like that
It’s not a Fox 34 Step-cast.
yes I am sorry, I apologize
Just curious, has SRAM fixed the weak clutch mechanism on their AXS group for this new group yet? On another RUclips video, the poster showed how much derailleur movement and forward slapping there was with this AXS group.
It’s still really tight. Did that RUclips compare to a SHIMANO group? Remember, it is there to make the cage stiff. But the chain is not stiff so if you hit a bump that is going to move no matter wat and slap around. But sram for sure is the stiffest cage compared to SHIMANO on how many I have worked on
No, it's not fixed yet.... don't trust someone who hangs a bike from a shock stanchion
I'd rather have it with XTR brakes and Rock Shox suspension w/brain.
i want one
Super hawt
so much money and you cant lock your suspensions from the handlebar
People don’t need that. That is a preference thing
Esses quadros sao oem da china ou sao.originais
Grab them all while you can, before Taiwan and China start their rumble, and your stuck again waiting for parts and bikes....😎👍
This is true. And that would be the least of worries if this happens
👍💯👌
Thank yoi
👌Test
Yeah!
You hung the bike from the what???? Disliked vid within 5 seconds. Won't trust reviewer
man ur crazy.. I swear, it has rubber covering on there, there is nothing hurting that shock, you act like you casing a jump strait to flat isn't going to hurt it more, this is the same as people clamping there dropper seat posts with a bike stand clamp
@GC Performance it's still a mechanical no no. I swear, you're acting like it doesn't matter. People are here to listen to a review, from someone who knows what they are doing. Putting anything on a stanchion is never a good idea, especially if you're making a video for the world to see
I have legs like a giraffe, is it possible to get that seat post any higher?
hahahah gave a good laugh lol
@@GCPerformance18 😉 ....love the video. Thanks
I didn't know $9000 / 25lb xc bike is best value....
The title clearly states. Best value epic evo.
