I was sales motor trade for 40yrs .
    (Thankfully well retired)
I think that the remedial efforts from Tesla to put your car into a condition you expect is about 1000 % better than you would get from a non franchised retailer .
With regard to the tailgate, the best you could have expected is some remedial paintwork .
To replace the steering wheel ?
    4.5yr old car ? Wouldn't happen
    Tailgate replaced ? Not a chance !
Your video is the best advert Tesla Used Marketing could pay for .
If ever I buy a used Tesla , I will follow your route .
Couldn't share any lottery numbers ? Could you ?

@@josephmwilliams6754 Very true. There’s a RUclips who lives in the Scottish Islands and got a second hand model 3 from a 3rd party. After a few weeks he arranged Tesla to come and change the brake fluid and pollen filter as his service centre is a 3 hour round trip. The guy comes out said your brake fluid is fine but I will change the filter. While he was there got him to look at the steering wheel as it was sagging. He changed it and the total bill for parts and call out was £17. Unbelievable.

I think you have done very well from Tesla. Yes everything has not been repaired on the first visit, however there is a plan in place to have most things repaired. I like you will have stories from dealerships etc when everything seems such a bother. I am going through things right now with my ioniq 5, trying to have a warranty issue repaired. Tesla are a different animal I think when I comes to customer issues. You have bought the right car. Look forward to more content. Take care, happy new year.

I also found it quicker but less convenient to travel to the Chester service centre rather than the Manchester one. Tesla have previously visited me once at my home address and I have another one scheduled for next week due to yet another fault. I tagged on two other small areas of concern and Tesla confirmed they will look into them also. There seems to have been a string of small issues but under the Tesla warranty they sort them out. I recall Nissan actually righting my Infinity off saying it was an uneconomical repair so I put it on a low loader, sent to an Infinity repair specialist in Yorkshire and within 1 hour of working on the car he sent sent me a video of it working and asked when I want it back. My point being that main ICE car dealers in my experience are expensive and mostly useless and by comparison Tesla are doing a good job albeit a bit slow to get things resolved. In brief, I would totally recommend buying from Tesla because of the warranty offered. I simply do not worry about things going wrong as I have the peace of mind that they will be resolved and at no charge.

    Love your Tesla.
I really, desperately, passionately wanted a Tesla Model 3 this time last year. I had a budget to be able to get an MY20, but I saw a Kia E Niro at an amazing price, it was on a 70 plate, top spec, and it does approx 300 miles in summer and 220 in winter. Kia do a 7 year warranty so it was a no brainer!
The sound system is Harman Kardon and it's quite impressive.
My heart still yearns cute a Tesla, but my pocket thanks me!

Interesting to see your thoughts on Tesla Chester. Mine is going there on Monday, I have a 21 plate SR+ LFP which has an issue with the "Steering Assist Reduced" coming on whenever I have not used the car for more than a day. Locking the car then getting back into it resets it and it works again, plus a front right sensor has intermittently told me to stop as I'm going to hit something when there's nothing anywhere near it. Will be interesting to see how they handle that. It wasn't bought from Tesla, just a local garage last year but still has regular Tesla warranty. No courtesy car annoyingly, so that will be a pain, but will at least be glad it's sorted on Monday under warranty.

So I think with any car company when selling a car they will always try to "sell as seen" which is probably why yours had issues and as with companies hope that you don't have a backbone and take it in. BUT once you take it in Tesla warranty has kicked in and given you that peace of mind. The steering wheel change the parking sensor and even the boot are all cosmetic to some extent and I know other businesses that might have said we'll the steering wheel is wearing and tear blah blah blah. The fact that warrants has covered all that and they are still working with you to fix the boot I think is very good and gives you peace of mind. Yeah there's a hassle to go through the process but like I say they initially will sell as seen on the hopes the customer takes delivery and never goes back. This has made for a good watch and great insight as to where I'd probably get my Tesla from now. Thank you

I think you did really well there. Most Tesla centres don’t have a painter/body shop guy on site and they bring them in as they need them. If they’d kept your car in, it takes a loaner out of use for a car which is still fit for the road. So no surprise that you have to rebook for that. Fit/finish isn’t great on the Freemont cars, mine was one of the late facelift Freemont cars and ended up getting bootlid painted, new hinges and 1 new light due to misalignment. All my contact was done on the app so easy to get loaner etc.

I think if you’re buying a used Tesla that’s out of its standard warranty it’s a good idea to get it from Tesla for that extra year, as you say it’s paying dividends for you now. I personally bought a refresh Model 3 from a used EV specialist but it’s still under Tesla warranty. Tesla service has its good and bad points but they have never argued any warranty claims I’ve had, and even solved an issue I had that wasn’t a warranty issue under goodwill.

Just starting to look seriously and from what I’ve looked into 2021 (I don’t like the chrome, pre 2021) is the one I’d go for, if the right 2022 comes up I’d stretch to that as it has the AMD chip for the screen.

Slightly overpriced from Tesla with the 10k mile warranty. By the time you’ve had all the work done in monetary terms it’s probably the difference and peace of mind for you. As allegedly if it’s not under warranty they charge £200 an hour. Take it you’re having another loan car which will enable you to do a contactless handover video. Few years back I believe you’d put a code in a keypad which opens a drop box to exchange keys. Got feeling now the loan car may just be run off app on your phone. Guess will see. Did you get any free Supercharger Miles with it. Which would be more practical for your wife maybe to visit the Trafford Centre and so on.

@@alexdalgleish1061 I’ll try and film the collection of the courtesy car, drop off of mine etc via the app. However, I’ve had to speak to someone every time previously. Let’s see if it works this time.
My wife’s Model Y will feature on the channel soon, I’ll cover the practicality differences! 😊

I bought a Tesla model Y from Tesla, purely because of the extra year’s warranty that only starts when the original warranty ends , it makes it like a new car, as in 4years warranty Yes it was about £3k more than I could’ve got one from another car retailer, but the 1 year warranty plus advanced autopilot plus 3000 supercharger miles made it a much more viable option for me personally. Great video. Really enjoyed it and very informative. Thanku.

The Rwd single motor but with the more power from twin motor is probably the sweet spot or twin motor and add the power 🔋 upgrade for 1.5k
The LFP battery 🔋 👌 and Higland model 3 is good lots of choices
