It would be better to use Helm upgrade and use the customized value.yaml file to change anything, it's a benefit of using Helm and revisioning. 2. Concept of Cardinality is critical in label-based tools like Prometheus and Loki. I think labeling the status code may be a cause of Cardinality! Good luck

Just a clarification, in case anyone might misconstrue mbaykara's comment, they don't mean that loki or a "stack" based on it are deprecated. They were referring specifically to the helm chart used in this video, which is called "loki-stack". They're recommending a different helm chart called simply "loki". I have a link with more on the matter (because I looked into this when I read it). But I don't know if it might block my comment, so I'll share it in another comment.
Yes cloudwatch is a native solution and it becomes easy when you raise a support ticket with aws. Also for services running on eks fargate you don't need too much about k8 as this is managed by aws. For fargate you will endup running a side car with grafana cloud
