    • @scottsdalewindowcleaningco3899
      @scottsdalewindowcleaningco3899  4 года назад +7

      The S or fanning technique is absolutely the best way to go. But, before learning that, it’s essential to know where and how the water flows and falls with straight lines before fanning a window. This tutorial is great for a homeowner cleaning glass or a newbie. Tried to make it as simple and easy as possible. It was painful! Patience is not my game. Fan, done, next window.

    I currently work full time Monday-Friday but would love to be able to start my own business to work Saturdays for an little extra money. I came across the idea of window cleaning and it honestly appeals to me, very satisfying and seems like a low cost/risk business to start. Could you give your thoughts on the idea and perhaps some advice on whether you think only window cleaning on saturdays would work/be a good idea. Also how would you go about getting the customers? Would you try to gain repetitive customers or knock on random doors on the day etc.

    • @scottsdalewindowcleaningco3899

      Yes, you can make descent money one day a week. I agree with your other response. Do things legit and have an LLC with insurance. Super low start up costs. Just a bit of a learning curve to create your own rhythm and techniques in the beginning but an easy entry point into your own business part time. Start one day a week then 2, then 3 etc. smartest way is grow an hour at a time then a day or two at a time. Message me anytime and I’ll be more than happy to talk to you about how to enter your market part time.

    Someone please enlighten me: I often hear window cleaners speak of "traditional window cleaning". So what other methods exist, I'm wondering? I assume that sand blasting isn't a good alternative.

    • @scottsdalewindowcleaningco3899
      @scottsdalewindowcleaningco3899  Год назад +2

      Traditional window cleaning uses scrubbers and squeegees to clean glass.
      The other alternative is pure water window cleaning using a water fed pole. The water is filtered through 1-4 filter stages depending on how hard the water is in certain areas.
      The 4 filtration stages to produce pure water for window cleaning are sediment, carbon, reverse osmosis and deionized resin.
      Stage 1: Sediment filter removes all of the particulates in the water such as sand, silt dirt and rust.
      Stage 2: Carbon filter removes organic compounds and also chlorine and chloramine.
      Stage 3: Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane removes 90%-99% of any other particulates and solids from the water getting it ready to pass through the final stage of the pure water filtration process.
      Stage 4: Deionize Resin (DI) is the final stage of the pure water filtration process. This stage removes the remaining 1%-10% of the total dissolved solids left over after passing through the RO membrane. The total dissolved solids are measured by parts per million. Anything under 10 parts per million will typically leave a spot free finish on glass.

    • @robertjackson3462
      @robertjackson3462 4 года назад +1

      For the scrubber it's to remove the most amount of dirt... for the squeegee it's because you dont want to lift it off the glass cause it will leave streaks on the window alot of the time. It's just the best technique for cleaning windows.

      The customer isn't paying for the minutes we work he is paying for the years it takes to become that proficient at our craft. Actually, that is one sense wrong. The real reason people pay for window cleaning is that they don't want to spend THEIR time cleaning windows. So the correct way to calculate what a window cleaning job is really worth is to measure the customer's time, how long it would take them to do the same job. Let's say a nurse makes $28 per hour at her job. Her employer is paying $36 per hour with payroll taxes. If it takes the nurse 6 hours to clean her small condo, the value of this job (or the direct cost as reflected on an income statement {which is one of the three financial statements}) to this person is actually $36 times 6. Or $216.00. So let's say the window cleaner can do the job in 2 hours. Great, this is precisely why developed nations are wealthy. Because of the division of labor and specialization. Such trade has increased the standard of living the highest in human history. If the window cleaner went to the hospital to do the Nurse's job he would not be able to do the job in the man-hours the nurse can do it even if he is a science and biology wiz from school. Because knowledge alone is not a skill. The skill requires practice. Most window cleaners I'm guessing do not even know the "dosing formula: Dose equals demand minus residual. Even though window cleaners use the same formula that nurses do every day (but window cleaners don't typically use math for their calculations). What we put down (cleaning agent) equals what gets used up (by soil and water that carries soil polarized by the surfactant) minus what is leftover on the window! See both professionals are using science, but the difference is that the nurse is taught that she is using science and she is also taught the value of what she does so that she is properly compensated for her effort. Here is another example everyone is familiar with. You can buy an apple for less than a dollar. But a farmer must plant a tree and tend to the tree for years before it yields a single apple! Why doesn't the cost of the apple reflect the years of effort of the farmer? That was rhetorical, the answer is that the market reflects the value to the consumer, the price point is not derived from the expenses of the provider of the value proposition, which may vary from window cleaner to window cleaner, or apple farmer to apple farmer depending on the operations proficiency. It is the stuff we don't know that holds us back in life.
