Amazes me how Peter Nero can be conducting and then suddenly start playing the piano. He is incredibly talented in so many settings - solo, his trio and here with an impressive orchestra. Thankful to have this musical treasure. Sadly Peter Nero passed away July 6, 2023. But what a spectacular career. Truly a genius. Hoping that more videos are posted of his music.
Wow! Wonderful. I just found out Peter had passed last year. What a talented and nice man. My mother used to take me to see the Philly Pops in Philadelphia. Her personal challenge piece on the piano was Rhapsody in Blue. She and Peter were the same age but she passed ten years ago. I told all three of my now grown boys before I die I’d love for them to learn it and play it for me.❤️

His recording of Stardust inspired me to learn to play piano and I was 62 at that time .
