    My husband and both took the test. He scored on more of the mid to low end, whereas, I scored very high. Husband has been diagnosed with Asperger’s since the age of 12. I was just told that I was just “lazy” and “unmotivated” and there was “nothing wrong” with me.
    Given my constant mental state, I beg to differ.

      There's a lot of people in the world who get told they're "normal" and don't get treated. I had a similar experiense even though I was diagnosed, so I can understand the struggles. My mother decided that even though I was heavily on the spectrum I was able to get over it and attend a normal school without any professional help. I am now a 24 year old man. And I am still struggling with the basics in my every day life. And I can barely find a job or study. And have motivation issues. I assume it went a similar direction for you right?

    • @kmjl93
      @kmjl93 7 месяцев назад +1

      Oh yeah. I was “the smart kid”, the “know-it-all”, the quiet kid who knew all the answers and would go far in life. When I did struggle, it was because I wasn’t “trying hard enough” and I “need to just apply myself” when nothing I did could force my mind into absorbing the information. I was put in AP classes because I was “smart” when really I needed to be in special classes. That’s because, when I came across a subject that I didn’t know, it killed me. Like I couldn’t function cause I would see myself as a failure and a loser when I couldn’t do something. I have a hard time keeping jobs because of my learning capabilities and my anxiety. All of that could have been avoided if my parents’ would’ve taken the time to have me tested as a kid and put me in the classes I needed instead of putting me in college level or AP classes cause I was “smart”.

    • @crutonpreton15
      @crutonpreton15 7 месяцев назад +2

      My family built me up to be the "smart" kid, and pretty much made me hide all of the things that made me unique emotionally wise, which stunted my growth, but I always had that trump card of being "smarter". This CRIPPLED my identity the moment I lost not only my main schedule (my parents would remind me to do homework), but as soon as school went online, I was out of my element and was really bad at it and it crushed my identity. I'm better now, but the mental gymnastics that society plays on us infuriates me sometimes, especially when systems rarely are fluid enough to account for our unique brains and paces.

      I was often misplaced in Special Ed classes and daycares because of my Asperger’s. I was probably on of the smartest in my elementary grades academically, but socially I didn’t care to interact. I got put in classes with kids that had violent mental issues, very physical ticks, and were solely dependent on others for mobility. Schools definitely didn’t know how to separate Spectrum disorders then.

    I have Autism spectrum disorder, I will say, ADHD and Autism can have VERY similar symptoms or traits, if you aren’t sure you’re autistic but check quite a few boxes, look into ADHD! A lot of people are commonly misdiagnosed as ADHD when they’re autistic, so anyone who’s been labeled as ADHD might want to check out some more things about autism and see if they relate more to one versus the other!
    I was misdiagnosed when I was little and have only been rediagnosed as autistic at 19.
    Before you do begin claiming you are either or, do ALOT of research first! Make sure to learn about different coping mechanisms for both and see which works for you best as well! I hope everyone who feels they’re autistic gets their diagnosis someday.

    My friends half ass tricked me into taking a tism test. And I say that because like halfway through there was a question about light type/brightness that tipped me off. But out of genuine curiosity, I still did the test as honestly as I could and I ended up scoring the lowest in my friend group.

    First off, love your content and this was a fun video, I have autism and don't se an issue with this. I would however suggest to be careful with this kind of test, his one specifically has been shown in studies to not be all that great, autistic people have taken it and got scores below the threshold and vice versa. Second, these tests are designed to be taken with a professional that can interpret your answer into the "correct box", as an example someone who is autistics might think they're not sympathetic but when they describe it to someone they are.
    And lastly just a small correction, no one can have a "touch of the tism" (do love the phrase though), its a binary of you either have it or you don't, autism is specifically a different brain structure than what non autistic people have, so you either have it or you dont, the "spectrum" part refers to difficulties someone with autism might face, if you think of a jojo's stat wheel where people with have a high score in one area, but a much lower score another, so in that sense all autistic people lie somewhere on that "spectrum".
    Thanks for reading, and keep up the work (more pokemon would be greatly appreciated)

      It’s not binary though it’s a spectrum if you pull up most recent studies on most of the matter it’s why the category in the mix is all considered neurodivergent and branches from that to things like adhd and autism take it from someone that has both and been through the professionals and still doesn’t always get the full help needed

    • @Ashvamproot
      @Ashvamproot 7 месяцев назад

      The ones that don’t show any of the above are just atypical

    • @CFAJSR
      @CFAJSR 7 месяцев назад

      @@Ashvamproot Read my comment again, I'm stating that your either have a brain structure that is autistic or you don't, the spectrum comes in after that, neurotypical people DO NOT lie on that spectrum at all. Neurodiversity is a non medical term, it was created by the community to identify those that have different thought processes, like ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and so on. However just because they're classified as neurodiverse it doesn't mean they're on the same spectrum. It's is extremely common to think that ASD and ADHD have overlapping symptoms, however this is blatantly untrue, ADHD has a very specific set of requirements in terms of diagnosis as well different biological factors too ASD, a common one people think is ADHD when it isn't is sensory issues, if you ADHD with sensory issues there's 2 possibilities, you either have ASD as well or a specific sensory disorder, ADHD explicitly does not cause sensory issues. Neurodiverent is simply an umbrella term, exactly how anxiety and depression are classified as mental health disorders or that viruses are an umbrella term. And while your experience is your own I also have both, and have been through professionals for years, I get near no help this doesn't change the fact of the matter.
      Just to reiterate, neurodiversity isn't a diagnosis and ASD or ADHD aren't branches off of that, neurodiversity is simply the label for non standard brain function.

    Hey Wildcat, 24 year old man with the tism here. You probably are supposed to have a little bit of a lower score since there were some questions which were talking about a specific way the tism mind works, which was different from the way you interpreted the question. Meaning you'd probably just be 60 or barely below that. Idk for sure though. Just my perspective on things. :D
