About Surviving Mars:
Surviving Mars is a sci-fi city builder all about colonizing Mars and surviving the process. Choose a space agency for resources and financial support before determining a location for your colony. The sensor towers are distance sensitive - the further away the sector you're scanning is from a nearest sensor tower, the less effect that tower will have on the speed it will get scanned at. The best use of resources is to spread them out so you keep the unscanned sectors close to a sensor tower. Also, sensor towers can give you more advance warning of approaching disasters like dust storms and meteors, so you have more time to prepare.
You asked for advice.. here :)
1. You actually have 4 rockets already.. you don't need to buy another one. You only need to send rockets back to earth once you have used all 4 of the ones you already have. (although, it's not a bad idea to send them back as soon as you can)
2. You built a drone re-charger right next to your drone hub.. which already has TWO re-chargers attached to it. The re-charger stations are better off being built at the far edges away from the hub.
3. You now have enough water and oxygen to run 3 or 4 of the basic domes LOL! you only really needed 1 water extractor considering the high output of that water spot you found.
4. The extractor buildings produce a lot of dust.. which causes nearby buildings to need maintenance sooner. might be better to put them a bit farther away from your other buildings (and each other) than you are currently doing. Just saying.
5. Your drones will generally maintain buildings optimally unless they are over loaded with work. Manually forcing them to maintain a building will waste some of the materials used.. and drive you nuts with micro management later in the game when you have 100's of buildings to check for maintenance!
6. Pipes and electrical lines require maintenance, and can be damaged by disasters, so keeping them as minimal as possible will reduce the chances of things going sideways.
7 - The main reason you'd want to use the repair tool is if you got warning a disaster such as a dust storm is approaching and you want to force maintenance on critical buildings such as drone hubs, domes and your storage tanks.
8- Dust storms will shut down certain types of buildings so having storage on hand is a very good idea to weather those storms. Dust storms also cause your buildings to need maintenance very quickly and rapidly drain your resources, as well as cause critical buildings to break down on you and stop working, such as a drone hub which then causes all its drones to shut down so the drone hub can't be fixed automatically, you'd have to send your RC rover with it's own drones over to do the fix then. Hence the advice in #7 about ordering early repairs to drone hubs if you know a dust storm is coming so they can be fixed BEFORE they break down.

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have this a daily regular series! :D :D :D Tip #1 ... don't suck ;) Tip #2 ... make sure to have solar AND wind power... solar only works during the day, wind works when windy... between the 2 you'll have almost 24x7 power and with battery storage you'll be fine... BUT you kinda went overboard on batteries and water towers lol... RARE METALS you need to have WITHIN your colony base range so the humans can get to it... oh.. try to make power cables AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE!!! Each length means more to maintain it... one of your RCs is a portable drone hub area... bot name.. Dark Dragon!! ;) EMERGENCY!!! you want to place water / rare minerals etc NEXT TO the resource so you can place multiple on one resource, NOT ON TOP OF IT! in the dome, 2 living quarters, and THREE food towers.. the rest as needed... don't forget to put the water reclaimation in the dome :D
I honestly was thinking to myself of when was the last time you did a game like this. It was actually why I started watching you so I am extremely happy to see you return to these types!

16:01, 19:59 Btw, I think it'll be better if you place the cables and pipes beside the structures like the ones with the turbines in straighter lines rather than connecting it like that. You'll spend more resources that way by building and fixing them when they are broken since you'll have too many separated connections and also, just for convenience.
Also, I think you shouldn't outsource too much because you might need to buy things later and you might not have enough funds. I don't think you need to research a lot of things too early until you have colonists.
Don't build around extractors too because it'll make your buildings dusty and will require more maintenance. Don't land your spaceships too close to your buildings too for the same reasons. You don't need that many pumps this early too. That's more than enough for 3 small domes or more.
I kinda learned some things by watching other youtubers play this game. xD

If you rotate things like Moxies and tanks you can lay them out in a far more organized manner, thus laying less cable or building less pipe. All the buildings that need pipes, for instance, have a little symbol where pipes need to be in order for the pipe to connect. You can lay them into the same pipe and same cable that's already sitting there, saving you resources.
Hey IGP, love the content as always. You're welcome to play however you wish, however you are selling yourself and the game short by playing on easy mode in my honest opinion. I would love to see you play with a real challenge, where decisions actually matter and failure waits around every corner :D
This game has such an incredible depth, most of which is completely pointless when you can just buy your way out of any situation.
Just imagine how much more exciting it is to land your only rocket, with no self re-fueling capability, no prefabs and incredibly limited resources. Now water really is life for your mission and the future of your colony. No water.... no fuel, no fuel.... no resupply, no resupply.... no future. It's an excitement and depth that you just can't see on easy mode and that is just the tip of the challenges you'll face playing with a hard sponsor.
Just sharing my opinion though, I'll continue to love the series regardless

Even as i kid, the games i liked mostly were strategy games. Unfortunately, i cannot buy myself a good PC, nor do i really need one right now. But if i would play, i would play this for sure. Thanks for the gameplay :)

i donno why.. but after watching the whole video... i still feel this is still planet base with a extra mods and the difficulty curve raised a lil bit in normal mode itself [ compared to the planet base's normal difficulty]..i wish i knew more from this video..

Indie, Pro-tip. Power goes through buildings. No need to make long cables if the buildings are next to each other. (save space and resources)

This game is AWESOME
So far you have the best base I have seen but there are a few things you can do a little better. First things like the extractors kick up dust which causes the buildings around them to need repair quicker. Also you can hand pick each of your first colonists so you can give yourself a huge advantage by having the exact number of skilled people you need with the lowest number of bad flaws

Have you played Space Engineers? I found this game very fun and intresting, even that it's in early access (on Steam). The game is about surviving in space by building ships, mining and fighting off enemies (if enabled). At the start the game doesn't seem easy, buy if you get fammiliar to the mechanics, physics engine it becomes preety easy. I highly recomend it for You to play and I'm sure that it would be very entertaining for Your audience! (Sorry if there are any mistakes, English is not my native language)
As for the power, only one battery should be enough at this stage, you should have 2 stirling generator prefab which can provide 20 power each if it's opened. The amount of solar and wind collector is overkill now

The main rocket has drone control and recharge for free, you don't need to place a drone hub until you ran out of space or your rocket has to leave.
Hey you can weigh the air pipes down first and then you can run your electric cables beneath them the grid pattern would look better as it is anyways most of the things if not all connect automatically to the power grid you don't have to build Power cables everywhere build your buildings next to the power cables and then run a pipe above

I do love the direct play within Sub, there is fun to be had in something like this if where you can queue up a series of actions & routines for groups of units, and the like while also being open ended in letting you ''control time.'' (obviously 'time' being relative to perceptions and controls of speed with faster thought -> slower time)
I could enjoy this.
- to say it's the sort of "StarCraft 2" game // mode that I would like to have had......
Based as much more on Colonization and resource gathering as actual RTS/TB fighting.
(where actions are queued / performed as part of turns, with set resources per turns in 'real' time)

Have some space between extractors and other buildings because the extractors will produce dust which will raise your maintenance costs on the surrounding buildings
