I remember seeing Davy D. Run DMC, and The Beastie Boys at Red Rocks in 85, and Davy opened the show and he absolutely blew away Run and the Boys. His skills were amazing and I wanted him to come back out and play some more! I went out and bought Davy’s Ride after that show. Way ahead of his time and elevated the art of DJ’inG to a whole new level. The original transformer. I noticed he was in Denver about 9 years ago I wish I would have heard about that show. Given the struggle with Simmons, It doesn’t sound like the relationship can be repaired but how cool would a farewell tour with Davy D and Run DMC be? I did get to see Run DMC in a packed secretive underground warehouse early 2000’s and they killed it. Much better than there Red Rocks show. I also saw Prince after a Denver concert and although he can’t DJ he showed up at the Church nightclub and played from 2am until the sun came up. Legendary. One of my best music memories.

Davy DMX means THE WORLD to People like me. I'm still remixing all those old tracks and making mixtapes with them.
I used to play Davy DMX's music alot back in the 80's. The album Davy DMX did with DJ Hurricane was one of my favorites back in 1987.
