very nice, I always loved the delicas, love seeing a full flat version, I watch every one of your videos but dont always comment this one needed a comment, just saying great vid once again on a great knife!
I finally ordered my first delica because of your overview and I thank you. Got the ffg version, I edc an izula2 (current favorite small fixed blade edc)for heavy cutting and this will replace my current folder edc(rat1 and 2)which for the cost I think are great, to pair with it, love your channel. I also have a manix2 on the way to try. I have been a fixed blade nut my whole life, and collecting folders is rather new for me. May all my fellow blade nutz have a great day.
I've watched this video about 10 times over the past few months... Finally broke down and bought one last night! Blue! Thanks for the awesome videos nutn'!!!
You always point me in the right direction. First the Fenix LD20 (which is awesome) and now I have a Delica on the way. I appreciate the effort that you put into each of your videos. You have the number of subscribers that you do for a very good reason. Thanks!
I am a long time nutnfancy viewer. I finally got an a/c so I can sub and comment. Based on your vids I ordered two of these. They arrived today, one grey and one blue (just love the blue, looks so cool). These are also my first Spyderco knives, but I can tell you they won't be the last. Everything you said is spot on.This is the sharpest knife I've ever had "out of the box". Awesome quality, compact, light-weight, and tight lockup. Love them. Thanks, and please keep the knife reviews coming.
My Delica 4 FFG in blue just came in today (ordered it after watching this video), and this is perhaps THE BEST daily carry blade I've used. Thanks so much for doing all these knife reviews, rock on.
ever since i got this blade back in early june,i have absolutely loved it...been working hard on it,going on outings 2 the beach(not in the saltwater mind u heheheh),de-limbing trees for fire prep...and i still haven't resharpened it since i got it,despite that it is still quite sharp and i absolutely love it...thank u so much nutn for everything and u 2 Veri, keep it rockin
@cmonsterz Thanks dude...I just posted my Endura 4 FFG review too today. Love these blades and they are perfect. Thanks much for the support...I will never forget the blades ;-)
Just got a delica 4 FFG with the green handles from cutlery shoppe. Awesome everyday carry knife. Light weight, smallish, high quality, and sharp out of the box. I thought the green handles were a little goofy at first but they grew on me after a few minutes of handling. Now I love the green color too. Outstanding knife and outstanding value.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. I have the saber grind delica and I love it. But I had to get the FFG Endura first and it is now my favorite edc knife. But I have to get one of these delicas because they are so sweet. I want to say thank you to Spyderco for offering the FFG versions because they rock. I am a big Spyderco fan because of their value. Keep it up guys!
Just ordered one in gray, was super excited to receive it and I live on Long Island in New York. I just found out it's illegal to carry with the clip visible. New York is slowly becoming the most "pussified" state in the US. Still happy about my purchase, but just hard to understand why responsible residents/people have to be penalized for other idiots.
great EDC and again, great video there NFP, you're the man when it comes to being informative on any sort of blades that people need for EDC or Tactical for that matter. Great work!
I purchased the Delica 4 Model C11BBK and a Benchmade griptillian at the same time. The two knives arrived together. The blade action and axis lock are positively amazing on the Griptillian; it is so fast and smooth both ways that I have decided against the purchase of an Automatic OTF knife. I thought the Griptillian was my favorite, but the Delica just kept sneaking into my pocket and has now been my edc for almost 2 years. Just got a FFG Delica4 with the orange FRN handle scales. True Love
Dude, this is the kind of video that turns a good law abiding citizen into a sick Spyderco knife addict, like me. Nutnfancy's passion for these blades is really contagious, I'm about to go order one just because of the enthusiasm, no kidding; well done, great knife review, thanks a lot. Actually that "jimping' job wasn't that bad, it looks better than mine!
Endura has a longer blade but is a 1.2 oz heavier. It depends on what you plan to use the knife for. For EDC alongside another tactical knife I'd go with the Delica, but if I'm carrying one knife on me I'd go with the Endura.
I got my Delica 4 FFG in orange about 2 weeks ago and so far i'm totally satisfied. Your knife reviews have turned me into a knife guy and now i'm beginning to developing my EDC system. Next to add into my system will be a leatherman juice s2 and maybe a cold steel ak-47.
@mynameismexican Yes KCWes is correct below. Also check out my "BEST Folding Knives Under $40" playlist accessed from my Channel page: click upper right "Grid" icon, then click on "Playlists"...you'll see it.
I bought this knife thanks to this video, just received it today and holy crap this knife is NICE. It comes out of the box very sharp, the blade is clean and smooth, scales are nice, jimping works lol, and the brown colour is awesome. Nutn was right, money well spent!! Thanks for the recommendation brother.
@Desette I actually reduce the volume intentionally on most of those clips. The link to the original video from whence it came is usually provided but usually two voice tracks running concurrently is confusing. Thanks for the suggestion and Movie Studio is a good product.
Thanks nutnfancy for the review. I have been subscribed for awhile now and getting caught up with your helpful videos. I just ordered this knife for my sister, kinda wish I got one for myself. But, I also ordered different version of the KA BAR USMC, which is a must have for knife collectors that actually use their blades. Thanks for the videos.
@kruk13 It's not immediately obvious, but the Delica and Endura both feature left/right reversible clip mount points ... a total of 4 possible positions. The peanut-shaped "label area" is on both sides of the knife. It seems like it was DESIGNED so that the label would be visible on the opposite side of the clips regardless of which point you choose, but it also provides a (unintentional?) flat area to protect your pocket from undue wear.
Just when i think I bought my last folding knife, I have to justify getting this one. thank you Nutnfancy, great review video. looking forward to the Endura FFG review
I love my Brown Delica 4 its my favorite edc and is razor sharp with the excellent VG-10 steel. The best part for me though is ~$47 shipped from ebay, cant beat it for the price.
Wow... I just got this Delica 4. I am very impressed by the overall construction and fit and finish. It has also been the sharpest out-of-box among my other knives thus far. I can't believe you can get all you do with this knife for ~$50.
I just bought my first Spyderco knife thanks to your review! I had doubts between this one and the tenacious. It was a tough decision since you like them both! To me the tenacious might scare my family and friends, since they all aren't knife people. So I choose the delica!
My purple Delica just came in today. It's a little funky. I have been carrying a Kershaw Leek and an unassisted Spyderco is a bit of a change. It took a little while to get used to the hole. The more I handle and use the knife, the more I like it. I think the only thing I don't like is that it's a lock back. I am used to bring able to easily close a knife one handed. With a lock back it isn't as easy or safe to close it one handed. Aside from that issue, I am really digging this knife. I think this will be become my main EDC blade.
just went and bought this knife. very pleased at it. i had been carrying a CRKT M21 04 for quite a while. and although i love that knife. it is just too big in my opinion. this knife is perfect size for an edc. it basically disappeared in my pocket after about ten min after the purchase. came razor sharp, already opened a box to test it and it works great. you wont be disappointed with this knife it you decide to get it. it is much lighter than i though it would be though, but thats not bad.
Got my Delica 4 FFG with the gray scales last week. It's a descent little knife for a lockback. Being my first lockback I was skeptical at first ,but the lockback is actually pretty nice. I like the texture of the FRN scales, and the VG-10 blade is sharp as all get out. Thanks for the great review Nutn.
Well I just got the Gray handle Delica 4 Plain FFG and a Brown handle Endura 4 FFG knives and man oh man these things are freaking awesome.. They are so damn sharp I am able to shave with them. I can't believe how sharp these things are from the factory. I can't believe I waited so long to drink the kool ade.. Thanks for the reviews Nutnfancy.
I bought a Delica 4 flat ground off of amazon and received it yesterday(stoked really really love it). T today at work my boss asked hey you got a knife on you(needed to cut some tape)long story short he ran it over some braided steel wire and the blade is still hair popping sharp
What a simple , but effective blade shape. With the flat grinding it looks like a tactical kitchen knife. Awesome, great update to the Spyderco Delica lineage.
To improve it I would make the pocket clip into Spyderco's wire clip, make the blade to handle ratio at bit more 1:1 (if you own a delica there is a bit of room in the handle for a slightly larger blade, the only reason I may want to keep it short is for laws), and add a finger choil like the one in the caly3 or sage series.
Got one in the blue FRN for Christmas 2011 and I've been carrying it 7 days out of 10 since then. Sweet knife. Wicked sharp out of box too; haven't sharpened it at all yet and literally shaved an eyebrow off with the thing last night...the things we do for knife testing...
Love this knife. Got it for Christmas. Ergos are great, pocket clip is amazing, and the VG-10 steel is very easy to sharpen on my piece of crap sharpening system and holds the razor edge for a reasonable time.
what? < 15 minutes? no part 2? oh wait... it's an update video. Man I'm used to you goin on for like 30-40 minutes about a knife! haha. Lots of fun to watch. Keep on rockin you guys.
Love it! Nutn: this is the kind of thing that got me watching you early on. Absolutely 5-star stuff! Got me some a this Delica...yep...even the one in Purple. Rock on!
Hey nutn, I'm going to buy this knife in brown this weekend. Btw i really like your videos, they have inspired me to continue my collection and hope you keep making them. Thanks.
It arrived today.. man blade hq didn't mess around when it came to getting the knife to me quickly this is my first spyderco knife and I can already say it wont be my last.. im very impressed with the knife for what I payed for it
So far I have the gray and brown scaled versions of the Delica4, same with the Endura4. I think that the brown scaled version is by far the coolest looking so far. Looking forward too completing the collection.
The clip on my Delica worked itself loose within 4 months. I tried to carefully tighten it back several times, no go. The next EDC I get will have a metal handle for sure. Like the blade, not so much on the handle.
Good review! Thanks you just saved me some money, like the knife but hate the distal taper style. Love Spydercos, prefer FFG but really really hate distal taper. Thats why i love video reviews you get to see the knife from multiple angles including the top down view which manufacturers never show in their product pictures. Lately i've been mostly buying Kershaw and ZTs but i do own 5 Spydercos, just no Delicas. I'm a modder so i'll probably just get a regular Delica and FFG it myself.
The handles feel great in hand. The multi directional texturing is great and the FRN is a strong handle and spyderco is great at balancing their blades.
Hey Nutn! Huge fan, but I have a tip for ya! When you talk about "deep" pocket clips, sneak a piece of paper under the clip to illustrate how the blade looks when its in a pocket. Keep up the awesome reviews and adventures.
Broke down and bought a delica in blue. Figured Id switch it up from all the black/satin, brown/satin, brown/black, black/black knives I have. Was kind of bummed when I first opened it because the blue looked a lot darker and was kinda just weird. Was in the basement so lighting wasnt the greatest. Took it up stairs into the sunlight and gotta say the blue is such a great color.
Your right, I was just pointing out how crazy it looks exactly alike.. I just won a Brown Spyderco Endura 4 Plain Flat Ground for $48 dollars.. Can't wait to get it home. Right now I'm the highest bidder on a new gray Spyderco Delica 4 Flat Ground the same as the knife in the video for $47 dollars if I win the bid. Wish me luck..
These new Delica and Endura 4's are awesome blades. The only small knock I will give them is I wish they had a bigger thumb hole. Both my Military and Stretch have the bigger hole and I find them much easier to deploy. Just a small knock that I can live with, but I do notice the difference when I go from one to the other
@nutnfancy my name is mexican might want to consider the byrd raven and cara cara, which are cheaper.also nutnfancy, i thank you so much. because of you i decided to get a blue delica 4 for myself, from yourcornerstore.thank you for your videos and keep them coming.
haha, I just shot nutnfancy, better say Veri, a mesage about those just yesterday. Thanks very much!! I got the one with the brown handles, just awesome. Keep buying them and keep telling Spyderco you like'em so they will be making them permanently!
My delica had the profiled different on each side issue. Still love the knife and it came razor sharp. Have had that problem with CRKT, and Benchmade. Idk if the angle is truely different or if the blade is just grinded more to one side. Usually just use them till dull then work on them to get it even.
Love that knife and another great vid. Just gave the blue one to a friend of mine and he thinks it's great. I agree that taking it apart is a bit tricky. Wouter from the Spyderco forum's has a good thread for taking a Delica apart.
for as short as this video is you got a lot of good info in! but my only critique is that spyderco did not number the knives 1 out of 500 or 35- 500 on the blade that would up the 2ed kind of cool factor for me
hey nutn another great review, only problem your picture in picture comes up and makes the audio a tad noisey, on a full surround system ( like mine ) it is hard to distinguish your voice over the shot show clips, due to the loudness of the shot show background, other then that awesome review hope to see more spyderco knives soon!
I would say, and I'm pretty sure he would agree, that the Delica is the better choice. If you like the Benchmade, go for it, but if you're looking at it objectively I'm completely in love with my Delica and I think it's lighter/thinner/cheaper, yes?
@masterjk no they are just more slick. sometimes the stubs get loose or come out and can sometimes maybe snag. those holes are just clean and avoids those issues
I just got a Spyderco Delica 4 in VG-10 but mine is a hollow grind. So far I really love the knife but I like the way the flat grind looks better then mine with the hollow grind. Still a great knife so far though.
Hey chief, i just got the brown delica4 wich is my first spiderco two, it realy feels great in the hand, the color in real life and on video is off, in real life it looks even beter than on screen here, thanks for the great vids and advice you put out there
@masterjk I have an open hole knife that I like a lot and have no problem getting a quick deployment. I recently picked up a small knife (Spyderco Dragonfly) and I had a little trouble getting it open because of it's size. After opening it several times, it feels better but not as good as my larger knife. My suggestion is to try before you buy.
very nice, I always loved the delicas, love seeing a full flat version, I watch every one of your videos but dont always comment this one needed a comment, just saying great vid once again on a great knife!
I finally ordered my first delica because of your overview and I thank you. I've watched this video about 10 times over the past few months... Finally broke down and bought one last night! Blue! Thanks for the awesome videos nutn'!!!
Had the exact same experience. Got mine today, I'm in love. My first spyderco. :)
PsychopathMisfit hows the knife doing so far? Still going strong?
ThatTallGuy Still going! Hasn't failed me once.
Loving it!
Same here guys! Absolutely love it. VG10 has become my favorite steel to date!
Weiderfan Yeah its great steel no doubt :)
You always point me in the right direction. First the Fenix LD20 (which is awesome) and now I have a Delica on the way. I appreciate the effort that you put into each of your videos. You have the number of subscribers that you do for a very good reason. Thanks!

Love this channel!! I'm now a total knife addict. This ones definately being added to the collection. Great review.
ever since i got this blade back in early june,i have absolutely loved it...been working hard on it,going on outings 2 the beach(not in the saltwater mind u heheheh),de-limbing trees for fire prep...and i still haven't resharpened it since i got it,despite that it is still quite sharp and i absolutely love it...thank u so much nutn for everything and u 2 Veri, keep it rockin
I dont know how these videos can be so entertaining. They are, Keep it up Nutn and Veri!!!
I got my Delica 4 FFG yesterday
It is prob the best EDC knife ever!
@cmonsterz Thanks dude...I just posted my Endura 4 FFG review too today. Love these blades and they are perfect. Thanks much for the support...I will never forget the blades ;-)
@krash19777 Good question and it's a close race. I love the FFG and the shorter blade of the Delica for EDC.
Just ordered one in gray, was super excited to receive it and I live on Long Island in New York. I just found out it's illegal to carry with the clip visible. New York is slowly becoming the most "pussified" state in the US. Still happy about my purchase, but just hard to understand why responsible residents/people have to be penalized for other idiots.
get out of that state whilst you still can. Here in Michigan you can carry any knife so long as it's not double edged.
Just learned from some law enforcement friends that where I live on Long Island the knife laws are more lenient. Still the gun laws suck though.
I feel for ya brother.
MrEmpirestate714
I live in NYC and I carry everyday. I make sure that my shirts/sweaters cover my pockets
great EDC and again, great video there NFP, you're the man when it comes to being informative on any sort of blades that people need for EDC or Tactical for that matter.
This review helped me decide to buy a Delica 4, it's great !
Thanks for the videos.
because of tnp i bought a delica 4 ffg, sog flash 1, leatherman wave and victorinox cadet and they all rock, keep doin what your doin man
They make the delica 4 with the emerson wave open feature now too.... Might pick one up..
just got my new delica 4 blue, very pleased with the quality. thankyou, nutnfancy!
@NetoMacias Awesome dude...I love all the colors, the blue called to me for sure. It's just a pretty blade.
I am so happy I waited on buying 1. Now the better ones are out. AWESOME
@kruk13 It's not immediately obvious, but the Delica and Endura both feature left/right reversible clip mount points ... a total of 4 possible positions. Thanks for the great review nutnfancy. I purchased the ffg b/c of this review and am very pleased with it.
Just when i think I bought my last folding knife, I have to justify getting this one. thank you Nutnfancy, great review video. looking forward to the Endura FFG review
Got my Purple Delica a week ago. Its so awesome! nutnfancy is so right about this great knife!
I love my Brown Delica 4 its my favorite edc and is razor sharp with the excellent VG-10 steel. The best part for me though is ~$47 shipped from ebay, cant beat it for the price.
Why do I get the feeling NutnFancy used to work on HSN or QVC??
Wow... I just got this Delica 4. I am very impressed by the overall construction and fit and finish. It has also been the sharpest out-of-box among my other knives thus far. I can't believe you can get all you do with this knife for ~$50.

The blue Delica is my EDC blade. I love this knife. Perfect size and very light weight.
Amen to that, Carry the same. Love it more than any other blade.
Well I just got the Gray handle Delica 4 Plain FFG and a Brown handle Endura 4 FFG knives and man oh man these things are freaking awesome.. They are so damn sharp I am able to shave with them. Lots of fun to watch. Keep on rockin you guys.
Love my Spyderco knives. Just recently purchased a Temperance 2 and a Delica 4.
FFG E4/D4 blades are 2.5mm, Saber-ground versions are 3mm thick. That helps a bit too (cento3 is 2mm).
Love it! Nutn: this is the kind of thing that got me watching you early on. Absolutely 5-star stuff! Got me some a this Delica...yep...even the one in Purple. Rock on!
love your vids nutn, always appreciate the knife reviews.
So happy to see a knife review, always great, as usual. like the full flatgrind just like u thanks nutn.....
Ordered a FFG in the green, arrives tomorrow! Such a good looking series of knives!
Bought a brown around 8 months ago. Was between brown and blue then. That blue is still calling my name.
Hey nutn, I'm going to buy this knife in brown this weekend. Btw i really like your videos, they have inspired me to continue my collection and hope you keep making them. Thanks.
It arrived today.. man blade hq didn't mess around when it came to getting the knife to me quickly

So far I have the gray and brown scaled versions of the Delica4, same with the Endura4. I think that the brown scaled version is by far the coolest looking so far. Looking forward too completing the collection.
i just got mine! blue handle ! amazingly sharp! feels like a ninja knife! so light, so thin, so wow! im definitely getting another! thanks nutn!!
The clip on my Delica worked itself loose within 4 months. I tried to carefully tighten it back several times, no go. The next EDC I get will have a metal handle for sure. Like the blade, not so much on the handle.
I want that blue ffg delica. What an awesome version of my favorite edc knife.
Nice review!
Good review! Thanks you just saved me some money, like the knife but hate the distal taper style. Love Spydercos, prefer FFG but really really hate distal taper. @smcoats They have the ZDP-189 FFGs, but they are only available in a black handle, the colored handles have VG-10

Great review. Thanks nutnfancy! I've been considering this and will probably buy it.
Thanks for the update Nutnfancy! I gotta get me one of these...
@rooftopeagle Isn't that cool??? We're stoked about it! -- Veri
Tried the blue Loctite. Worked for a month or two then loose again. Carrying the Twitch II now, we'll see how that one goes. Thanks though.
Just got my first spyderco, delica 4 ffg blue frn handle and the quality of this knife is amazing as it should be for a $55-60 knife ...
haha, I just shot nutnfancy, better say Veri, a mesage about those just yesterday. Thanks very much!!
I got the one with the brown handles, just awesome.
Keep buying them and keep telling Spyderco you like'em so they will be making them permanently!
Great review Nutn. I'm actually giving away a ZDP version of the Delica 4 on my channel, Spyderco is also a fav of mine!
This is by far my favorite EDC blade. Hope they come out with a black version of the FFG in the future.
I love the fact that you consider a 14 minute knife review short, lol. Great now something ellse I have to go buy, thanks a lot NUTN.
for as short as this video is you got a lot of good info in! but my only critique is that spyderco did not number the knives 1 out of 500 or 35- 500 on the blade that would up the 2ed kind of cool factor for me
cool review. spyderco makes some awesome knives. thanks, and take care, nutn.
just got a delica ffg for xmas from the wife. love it (i got the blue one and the color is awesome)
Got mine just today, and phew, man I love this thing. Massive improvement over my rat 1. I'm excited to use it man!
hey nutn another great review, only problem your picture in picture comes up and makes the audio a tad noisey, on a full surround system ( like mine ) it is hard to distinguish your voice over the shot show clips, due to the loudness of the shot show background, other then that awesome review hope to see more spyderco knives soon!
Thanks for all your excellent vids.
Just purchased this, your vid help of course, love the blade WOW.. My first spyderco :D
I just got a Spyderco Delica 4 in VG-10 but mine is a hollow grind. So far I really love the knife but I like the way the flat grind looks better then mine with the hollow grind. Still a great knife so far though.
Hey chief,
i just got the brown delica4 wich is my first spiderco two,
it realy feels great in the hand, the color in real life and on video is off, in real life it looks even beter than on screen here, thanks for the great vids and advice you put out there
Loving the purple! WCU's colors are purple and gold, gatta get me one!
watchin these started me collecting knifes just today i bought a ffg delica and a griptilian knifes are sure expensive to collect.
Hey, that's a pretty good job actually on that homebrew jimping job! Good
idea using a small rotary tool. Might try it myself on a few models.
That blue coloration rocks I just order a delica and endura ffg both in blue, but I have to say I like the gray way more than the purple.
@luke812 I think this is it! If it's not the Delica 4 FFG, I'm not sure what else they would do to it.
@TNPviewer Yeah try it and send it in. Spyderco has great service...let them know you're a TNPr too.
