Best way to do it is to bring a truck out there put a pvc pipe around the exhaust pipe and run it inside the tent. Getting ready to go to sleep just fire up the truck get inside the tent and sleep tight
Justin you did an amazing job on that tent. The tie outs worked so well. I love your enthusiasm and humor Great idea with the 7’ 3” paracord to measure the pole. Keep up the great videos. Greetings from Ontario Canada

I agree with you 100% about not needing the latest and greatest , expensive gear . Don't get me wrong , I have a lot of gear . Some of it is very pricey ( like that stove ) But it isn't the gear that makes the man . This tent was a fun build , and very rewarding ! A success in my eyes ! Thanx mon, brings back memories of Adak Alaska. Winter of 75. We used North Face and Camp 7 gear. As we were told, " Women are no problem, there's one behind every tree". 176 square miles of tundra, no trees. Doob, and Primus 8R stoves we were good to go. 80 knot Willawas, laid back,, thanx for the memories. Peace, dude, oz
That sounds like it was an incredible time ! No trees LOL ! I hope to get to Alaska some day ! I'm glad I could help bring back those memories ! - Justin
This thing is magic ! It's not the most air tight , efficient stove out there . Not even close . But the whole set up weighs less than 4lbs ! Extremely packable ! And she throws some heat ! I love it !
I would like to see that as well ! When the opportunity presents itself , I'll be out there !! I will take a moment to say , A few years ago , I built a much smaller tent just like this one . I left that tent up for 2 weeks once for testing . In that 2 weeks we had a serious bout of very nasty weather . It rained violently for days . There were state wide power outages for days . That tent held up flawlessly !! So I have high hopes for this new tent ! Fingers crossed ..... I will find out ! Thank you for the comment ! - Justin
Looks very comfortable with the stove going. I am curious as to exactly how you did those sidewall tie-outs. I'm not sure if what I see, is what there is, or if there is some aspects to it that I am not seeing or understanding. Looks like they are holding up well.
I filmed the process of me making this tent , and all the details that I put into it . I am very hesitant to put it out there , because it is basically the same process you used on yours . I don't want you , or others to think I'm copying you . Truth be told , I got the idea from an old 3rd grade project we did in school as kids , making hats out of construction paper for heads made out of balloons ! LOL . For some reason I always remembered how to do that cut to make the cone shape , and it came in handy way down the road ! Pay attention in school kids ! LOL . Anyways , your channel is amazing , and I feel like I'm talking to a rock star ! Take care you two ! Stay warm !
@@tomlorenzen4062 The winter so far has the cold spells lasting longer than other recent years but the coldest temperature has not been as cold as usual here.
Two things: first one if you had a ground cover, you would also have to have a welder's blanket to put underneath the stove. That would also collect all your sawdust, and would prevent the wood from poking a hole in your ground cloth. Number two, if you're camping by yourself and you want to sleep, I might suggest you take a couple of duraflame logs for the overnight. You can set an alarm for three and a half to four hours, and then throw the second log in cuz when they say they burn four hours, they're pretty accurate.
All good suggestions. For multiple reasons I prefer to run a floor less system in the winter. It's a lot easier and a lot less weight. In terms of sleeping, I always have a sleep system rated for the conditions I am in. I don't need the stove at all for sleeping. I never use a stove all night. I like to put wood in it right before I go to bed, and crawl into my sleeping bag. I get to watch the fire wile I fall asleep. It's nice. From there the stove goes out and I wake up in the morning.
Im stoked you did this dude because this is exactly what I want to do with my home made stove. What a success too with getting a storm to test it out in. Baller looking steak and I'm interested in those potatos as well. Fricken sweet trip man. Amazing edit as well man!!!! Take care

Perhaps I'll do a how to video on it ......People have been asking me how I do my dehydrated meals .....I'm looking forward to seeing what you do for a stove ! Hello. I take that as a great compliment from a man with credentials like yours. Thank you. Once that stove went out I'm sure it got cold. It would be interesting to see if it held any heat at all, I tend to doubt it , because its rather large ...I could be wrong though. Awesome homemade hot tent! It is nice and roomy in there. Looks like 3 guys could have sat near the fire. Thumbs up bro! Man! That steak and potatoes looked super good! I am glad the hot tent worked out!
This tent is a beast ! It could easily put up two people with all their gear and a stove. It would hold three , but it would be a bit tight , and there's only one door , so that could be a bit of a pain ....That meal hit the spot bro ! Mighty fine eatin' in my book . Brilliant tent.....we used similar back in the mid 80s when i was in the military....even hauled everyrhing in a sled like yours .. ... exceot ours were much bigger and hauled by 4 guys. Love the video.....
Terrific job, I'm in New Hampshire and I need to get back to the mountains, it's been a couple of years since I camped, I have been doing a lot of winter day hikes...not soul around, peaceful and quiet except for the sound of nature, you know birds, babbling brooks, raging rivers from snow melt....I never want to leave

Potatoes with onions and a Ribeye!! Yummy in my tummy. Great job on the food and Hot Tent! No condensation is awesome. Love that scenery out there Justin. Cool video bro 👍
Yeah buddy ! Pretty good eating going on that evening ! No complaints from me ! The tent held up well ! That thing is a beast ! That fresh snow is a sight to behold ! Magical ! Thanks for watching Jason !
Loved the video, Justin, and your stove is awesome. Ribeye has always been my favorite cut of steak and you made all of us watching salivate!! It looked delicious. I do have one question for you. I noticed that there were fairly wide gaps at the bottom of the tent where it meets the ground where the cold and wind could enter quite easily. I was wondering why you didn’t pile up some snow or brush in those areas not only to keep out the cold, but to keep the tent more stable and secure. Not a criticism, Justin, just a question. Keep up the great videos.
Ribeye is my favorite cut as well ! It's so good ! Very good eye about the gap ! I think the tent pole is about 2" to tall . Lowering the pole should close the gap . However , I do want some air flow, and I knew it was going to snow , and natural close the gap anyway . When using a stove in a tent , you want good air flow . You don't want it to be buttoned up tight . The CO fumes can build up and potentially kill someone in their sleep . You go to sleep and never wake up .I'm not trying to be dramatic , but it is possible . So I like the air flow . I also use a CO detector as an added security measure . I also don't use the stove as a substitute for the appropriate gear for the conditions I'm camping in . With my sleeping system I could have easily endured very cold temperatures without the stove at all . But the stove is nice ! Hot tenting is very enjoyable ! Thank you for watching ! I'm glad you liked the video ( and ribeye ) - Justin .
Hey Tim ! How are ya bud ? Founders makes a good brew ! That All day IPA is a tasty beverage ! This tent is huge dude ! It's awesome ! And so was that steak ! LOL Cheers man !
I didn't need to . There is a stream close by . I have boiled down snow many times . But i would much prefer stream water . All the boiling of water and snow makes a lot of condensation. Condensation is bad .. Thank you for the suggestion though. Very much appreciated . - Justin
@@ItsGoodintheWoods, there is microscopic germs in natural spring water from animals, bugs, bacteria, fish and other things I haven't mentioned. Boiling snow is much safer.
I really enjoyed the video' the fact that you made this tent is even cooler. What stove is that ? I't did a great job. And damn it you made me hungry.......
That tent was a fun project to build ! I'm pleased with it ! It passed the foul weather test with flying colors ! The stove I was using is a Seek Outside Titanium stove . The large model , with 7.5' of stove pipe . It is awesome ! I love it ! The whole set up , carry case and all weighs less than 4lbs !! And that steak !!!!!!!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video ! Thanks for your time and comment ! - Justin
Looks like a good time. Fyi anyone wondering about the towing sled he is using you can basically do the same thing with a mixing tub / drywall mud tub. That's what I used for mine, the eye bolts for the tow rope - strap need to go under the lip.

Another awesome video, Bro!! Love Founders Brewery as well. Looks like there was plenty of room to enjoy that caveman steak!!! Cheers!!
Hey Tim ! How are ya bud ? Founders makes a good brew ! That All day IPA is a tasty beverage ! This tent is huge dude ! It's awesome ! And so was that steak ! LOL Cheers man !
Not as good as you, big time! 🤣 Just kidding, you deserve it man!!! Keep em coming!!!
@@3FeathersFarmstead LOL ! I love it ! Thanks man !
Like that stove
Thank you. That is a Seek Outside titanium stove! The large model. It is awesome!
7:56 Fill up a pot / kettle full of fresh snow and boil it.
@@deaconandrewkingtheinspira762 it doesn't matter because you are boiling it...

Looks like a good time. Fyi anyone wondering about the towing sled he is using you can basically do the same thing with a mixing tub / drywall mud tub. That's what I used for mine, the eye bolts for the tow rope - strap need to go under the lip.
I made the sled set up, cost me $40 ! Thanks for the comment!
That steak look good.
I have to say , it really was ! Delicious !
Another great share mate 👍👍👍
Thank you sir ! This was a good time !
That l was about to ask ,smell doesn't bring animals for food?
I have never had any negative animal encounters in the woods . Not yet . More concerned about people to be honest LOL
