He was crying a lot because he found out he is the winner and then, he had to sing again his song, that is why it was difficult for him not to cry. anyway, Sheldon is amazing

He is genuinely crying. What you're watching is his winner performance, not the initial performance that night. He was incredible in both performances.

He was overwhelmed in this performance because he had just won Australia decides.
Sheldon was diagnosed three times with the Asperger Syndrome between age 6 - 12. He didn't speak and the docters told he never will. His father is Filipino and he is gay. That is why he didn't feel like he is the same as other kids. The song was written by him in a very young age. He wears the mask in other performances, too. I would prefer to see his beautiful face.
    I love this song. ❤

Australia is in Eurovision as it is for members of the European broadcasting union, which Australian channel sbs has been a member for decades offering multi cultural mainly European content to Australians who have immigrated

SBS an independent Australian TV channel has been a member of the EBU(as you've stated), and has been broadcasting Eurovision for over 30 years.

Great reaction video and his emotions were genuine. This is his life ambition and finally achieving winning something must have been such a feeling of relief for him. It really hits the feels and made this old man cry and I thought my tear ducts dried up years ago. 👍🇦🇺♥️

After WWII, Australia became a place for refugees and migrants from all parts of Europe. Many mixed on huge public infrastructure projects in isolated areas. Nostalgia for home, including music , was part of life. Eurovision came to life, and with it interest in the competing national songs. The interest in the competition grew, particularly with the start of the public Special Broadcasting Service, the aim of which was to promote and serve the multicultural communities of Australia. Interest in Eurovision grew, and developed amongst first generation Australians. Now, it’s become a mainstream interest for many.

Israel is not Europe. Nuff said. 👍- plus, Australia is basically mini-Europe based on our population, so we are basically all of Europe in one island-continent ! (And- we have loved Eurovision forever ❤️)

This is the *8th year* Australia has been in Eurovision - and you still want to make an issue of it?
Israel isn't in Europe either so do your research and educate yourself.
    BTW - great performance Australia!!
    12pts from Israel
